Abstract

This research aims to provide a bibliometric review of trends in using flipped classrooms in mathematics learning research. This research is essential to analyze the extent of the flipped classroom research trend in mathematics learning as a reference for future research in this research.  Bibliometric analysis was used to analyze and classify bibliographic data by considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. The database used was Scopus using the Bibliometrix application. The search was carried out using the keywords "flipped classroom", "mathematics learning", and "K-12". The results revealed a total of 102 articles related to the keywords. The data showed increased publications over the last two decades, with 2023 being the year with the highest publication count. Apart from that, Indonesia had the highest rate of producing related articles. The most relevant author was Hew Khe Foon. The most cited article was "A self-regulated flipped classroom approach to improving students' learning performance in a mathematics course". The Indonesian Education University was the most productive affiliate related to this theme. Furthermore, the journal "Educational Technology and Society" was found to be the most prolific journal for publishing research outcomes. New themes emerged in flipped classroom research, such as conceptual and procedural knowledge. Future researchers are expected to utilize the research focus to determine the theme to be explored. It is recommended that further researchers incorporate the novelty discussed in this research.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between information literacy, optimized learning spaces, and TPACK Skills on the mathematical digital literacy skills of prospective mathematics teachers. The method is non-experimental research with a causal correlation design and a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis method. The population in this study were undergraduate mathematics teacher candidates. The sample was obtained from as many as 216 respondents using purposive sampling from public and private universities in Riau, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java. The instrument used is a Likert scale on a scale of 1-5, which consists of 24 indicators representing 4 variables. Based on the results of the assumption test, validity test, and model fit test, it can be concluded that the SEM model in this study is suitable and feasible and can describe the theory and findings in the field. Based on the inner model test, it can be concluded that information literacy (LT), Optimize Learning Spaces (LS), and TPACK Skills (TK) have significant effects on mathematical digital literacy (DL) in terms of estimates and P <0.05.  The results of this research indicate that the increasing need for the application of learning technology, especially in mathematics learning, requires increasing the competence of teachers and students in integrating technology in mathematics learning and digital mathematics literacy needs to be the focus of further research.

Abstract

One of the most crucial abilities for students to cultivate is the capacity to engage in collaborative endeavours. Despite the growing interest in collaboration as a skill required of students, the context of collaboration itself remains unclear. The objective of this literature review is to examine the conceptualisations, definitions and understandings of collaboration as presented in the research literature. Collaboration can be defined as a process whereby members of a group interact with one another in order to fulfil their roles and to solve problems or achieve goals collectively. In order to achieve this, it is essential that responsibility is shared. The most frequently employed indicators are those identified by Trilling and Fadel, namely cooperation, flexibility, responsibility, compromise and communication. It is incumbent upon educators to consider how the design of assessment tasks can be modified to encourage all students in a group to participate, share thoughts, gather resources and ideas, manage tasks, manage time and communicate effectively.

Abstract

Refractive thinking is a thinking process that produces decisions through critical and reflective thinking. Refractive thinking focuses on critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Both of these abilities are essential abilities in the 21st century that are needed by students. Research on refractive thinking in solving math problems has started to become a concern in the last 10 years. This study aims to describe the results of studies related to refractive thinking in solving math problems in Indonesia. This study used a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with a quantitative approach, involving 17 published studies as a sample which were filtered through inclusion criteria. This study took the stages of data collection, data analysis, and conclusions drawing. The results show that the research on refractive thinking in solving mathematical problems in Indonesia has been viewed from several aspects, most of these research show that students meet the indicators of refractive thinking on the component of identifying problems, and some of them show that students have not met the indicators on the strategy and evaluation components, and the use of Peer-Assisted Reflection learning models can improve mathematical refractive thinking abilities. Many of these studies involved junior high school students as participants because mathematical abilities begin to be honed at that level. In addition, the type of research most widely used is qualitative because this approach provides an in-depth understanding of refractive thinking in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

Relational understanding is the ability to apply and relate one material to another and know the reason. The purpose of this research is to conduct a study related to relational understanding in solving mathematical problems at the elementary, junior high, junior high, high school and university levels. This study used the systematic literature review (SLR) method, with a sample of 21 research results related to relational understanding in solving mathematical problems published within the last nine years. Data collection was carried out by documenting all research related to relational understanding in solving mathematical problems in terms of research year, publication platform index, education level, research demographics, research type and research results. The results showed that the most years of related publications were in 2022, the dominating participants were at the junior high school level, Java Island as one of the largest populations was the most frequent location for research and qualitative research was the type of research often used by researchers with mixed results depending on students' initial mathematical abilities, learning styles, cognitive or non-cognitive styles of students and effective learning methods used to improve relational understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of research on learning obstacles related to mathematical literacy problems. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The sample consisted of 13 studies on learning obstacles related to mathematical literacy problems published from 2017 to March 2023. The results of this study were reviewed based on the publication media, year of publication, level of study, research location, materials used in the study, and results on learning obstacle research related to mathematical literacy problems. Using the SLR method, It was found that the most research was published in the Repository UPI while the most articles were published in SINTA 3, the highest number of published research in 2022, the highest level of education is carried out at the junior high school level, the location was predominantly carried out in Java Island, Space and Shape content and Uncertainty and Data content was most widely used in learning obstacle research related to mathematical literacy problems, and in terms of three types of learning obstacles namely, ontogenic obstacles, didactical obstacles, and epistemological obstacles. It was detected that epistemological obstacles were found in as much as 100% throughout the study, while ontogenic obstacles were found in as much as 69%, and didactical obstacles were found in much as 46%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh disposisi matematis terhadap hasil belajar siswa dan apabila ada, berapa eratnya pengaruh serta berarti atau tidaknya pengaruh itu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu isntrumen angket. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui terdapat 3 faktor yakni faktor 1, faktor 2, dan faktor 3. Faktor yang lebih dominan dari semua faktor yaitu faktor 1 sebesar 31,914%, faktor 2 sebesar 16,175%, faktor 3 sebesar 59,564%, dan total keseluruhan faktor sebesar 91,379%. Maka didapat faktor yang lebih dominan dalam proses belajar matematika di SMPN 2 Jember yaitu faktor 1, yang memiliki variansi paling besar dibandingkan faktor yang lainnya.This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of mathematical disposition on student learning outcomes and, if there is, how strong the influence is and whether or not the influence is significant. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire instrument. From the research results, it is known that there are 3 factors, namely factor 1, factor 2, and factor 3. The factor that is more dominant than all factors is factor 1 at 31.914%, factor 2 at 16.175%, factor 3 at 59.564%, and the total factor is 91.379 %. So it was found that the more dominant factor in the mathematics learning process at SMPN 2 Jember was factor 1, which had the greatest variance compared to the other factors.

Abstract

Proses akuisisi pengetahuan oleh siswa bukanlah reproduksi konten yang harus dipalajari, termasuk dalam matematika. Bagaimanapun guru perlu membangun lingkungan belajar yang dapat memfasilitasi peserta didik dalam mengkonsruksi pengetahuannya. Penelitian ini merupakan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripikan peluang integrasi Computational Thinking dalam Pembelajaran Geometri secara empiris dari hasil penelitian tentang integrasi Computational Thinking (CT) dengan pembelajaran Matematika sehingga dapat memberikan insight yang baru dalam mengembangkan desain pembelajaran geometri dengan integrasi CT mengingat terdapat konsep geometri di kehidupan sehari-hari yang tidak dapat dipelajari menggunakan cara biasa karena keragamannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CT dan konten matematika dapat dijadikan konteks dalam pembelajaran sekaligus orientasi hasil belajar, penggunaan teknologi seperti software geometri, scratch, robotic dan aplikasi computer lain dapat membantu pengembangan pembelajaran yang menggunakan framework CT teutama dalam eksplorasi konsep geometri, sehingga peluang untuk pengembangan pembelajaran konsep-konsep geomteri sangat terbuka.

Abstract

A meaningful learning process for students can be done by linking mathematics with real contexts and applied with approaches that are in accordance with the characteristics of students. Ethnomathematics studies include various forms of cultural products related to mathematical concepts and activities in the form of buildings, artefacts, social activities, or in various cultural products. In this study, mathematical concepts will be studied in the form of buildings architecture, namely the Al-Jabbar mosque. This research aims to find mathematical concepts in the Al-Jabbar mosque that can be raised in the learning process in the classroom. The method used is qualitative research. Data analysis techniques with literature study, documentation, field observation, and document analysis. The results of the study are many mathematical concepts contained in the Al-Jabbar mosque and can be raised in classroom learning, namely the concept of area under a parabolic curve, parabolic curve equation, integral, geometry transformation (rotation, dilation, reflection, translation), one-dimensional geometry concepts (point, lines and angles), two-dimensional geometry (various triangles, quadrilaterals, circles), three-dimensional geometry (Hemisphere, prisms, tubes), and number patterns. All concepts found are important materials in learning mathematics in elementary to secondary schools so that they can be integrated in the mathematics learning.  Keywords: Ethnomathematics, Al-Jabbar Mosque, Mathematical Concepts, Elementary School, Secondary School.

Abstract

[English]: Present study describes and synthesizes global trend and students’ CT achievement in mathematics instruction integrated STEAM education. A systematic review using bibliometric analysis and qualitative meta-synthesis was applied to do this study. Five hundred and nine studies indexed by Scopus and published between 2004 and 2023 were used as the data to bibliometric analysis. Particularly, 14 empirically qualitative studies were included in qualitative meta-synthesis. Results revealed that the publication development of CT studies slightly soared, whereas the citation development on CT studies relatively fluctuated in the period of 2004–2023. There were several emerging themes in CT studies, such as CT component, cognitive, affective, & psychomotor domain, mathematical content, CT learning environment, technological intervention in CT, research methodology, popular country involved in CT, participant, educational level, and STEAM component. Generally, students had achieved five CT components, such as pattern recognition, abstraction, decomposition, generalization, and algorithms caused by the integration of STEAM approach. The conclusion and implications of this study for mathematics education are comprehensively discussed. [Bahasa]: Studi ini mendeskripsikan dan mensintesis tren global dan pencapaian berpikir komputasi siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika yang menggunakan pendekatan STEAM. Sebuah riviu sistematik yang menggunakan analisis bibliometrik dan meta-sintesis kualitatif diterapkan untuk melakukan studi ini. Lima ratus sembilan studi inklusi yang terindeks Scopus dan dipublikasikan antara 2004 dan 2023 digunakan sebagai data untuk analisis bibliometrik. Secara khusus, 14 studi empiris kualitatif diinklusikan dalam meta-sintesis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa perkembangan publikasi dari studi-studi berpikir komputasi cukup meningkat, sedangkan perkembangan sitasi terhadap studi-studi berpikir komputasi relatif berfluktuasi pada periode 2004–2023. Terdapat beberapa tema yang muncul terkait studi-studi berpikir komputasi, seperti: komponen berpikir komputasi, domain kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor, konten matematika, lingkungan belajar berpikir komputasi, intervensi teknologi dalam berpikir komputasi, metodologi penelitian, negara popular yang dilibatkan dalam berpikir komputasi, partisipan, jenjang pendidikan, dan komponen STEAM. Secara umum, siswa sudah mencapai lima komponen berpikir komputasi, seperti: pengenalan pola, abstraksi, dekomposisi, generalisasi, dan algoritma yang disebabkan oleh pengintegrasian pendekatan STEAM. Simpulan dan implikasi dari studi ini untuk pendidikan matematika secara komprehensif didiskusikan.
