Abstract

Mathematical literacy and self-regulated learning (SRL) are essential competencies for students' success in mathematics. However, research on their intersection remains fragmented, lacking a comprehensive overview of trends, key themes, and influential contributions. This study used Google Scholar and Publish or Perish to conduct a scoping review and bibliometric analysis of mathematical literacy and SRL research from 2009 to 2023. The analysis included publication trends, citation patterns, co-word analysis, and collaboration networks. The findings showed a significant increase in research after 2015, with peaks in publications in 2021 and 2022. Key themes include cognitive strategies, motivation, pedagogical approaches, technological integration, and assessment methods. The most cited works emphasize SRL's role in problem-solving, metacognition, and technology-enhanced learning. Collaboration networks indicate that research is dominated by North American, European, and Australian institutions, with limited contributions from developing regions. The study suggests expanding AI-enabled SRL research, teacher professional development, and culturally diverse frameworks to enhance mathematical literacy instruction globally. These insights contribute to advancing evidence-based instructional models that integrate Technology, self-regulation, and mathematical reasoning to improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

Computational thinking and Problem-Based Learning have educational benefits for learners and have been widely used in teaching and learning. However, research into integrating these theories into the teaching and learning process is scarce, leaving educators with little guidance in using constructive learning theory techniques. This research aims to thoroughly review and determine the place of research, level, learning materials, type of research, and instruments used to get an overview of how computational thinking, problem-solving, and learning methodologies lead to the successful application of computational thinking and problem-solving. From 2018-2023, this research tracks relevant published articles to identify gaps in implementing computational thinking and problem-solving. Research on computational thinking in problem-solving in the last five years has been widely used, but it still needs to be improved for other researchers, especially in provinces with few or even few researchers. Other researchers, especially in provinces that still have little or no research on computational thinking in problem-solving. have not examined computational thinking in problem-solving. In addition, the material that is taught to support computational thinking is the most widely used number pattern material at the junior high school level with test instruments and interviews.

Abstract

The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) is followed by students and is designed to measure reading and numeracy literacy as a cognitive learning outcome. In its development, AKM adopts the assessment system carried out by the OECD through PISA, so that it was first implemented and even now, in general, teachers still do not understand AKM which is based on numeracy literacy, and have not been able to develop measurement instruments according to standards. For the fulfillment of quality educational services for the community through improving the competence of teachers in AKM, community service is developed in the form of training. In order for the training to strengthen the understanding of numeracy literacy and the development of assessment instruments, this service is arranged in several stages. Seminar on strengthening numeracy literacy and its measurement, and the practice of developing AKM model instruments. Although the increase in participants' knowledge was not too high, the results of the evaluation of this service activity were responded to very well in service, responsiveness, and tangible evidence. The teacher's response to the implementation of service activities that have been carried out is generally considered very good. The seminars and workshops in the development of AKM model instruments have provided a lot of knowledge and experience in compiling standard instruments, so that not only for the needs of literacy measurement, but also for the needs of teachers in the development of learning outcome instruments. Therefore, it is important for the government (Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religion) or universities in the field of education to provide services for teachers in improving their numeracy understanding skills, and their skills in compiling AKM model instruments, so that they can be integrated into mathematics learning practices.

Abstract

This study analyzes the direct and indirect effects of learning motivation and learning habits on student grade point average (GPA). The study used a quantitative approach with the path analysis method. The research sample consisted of 57 students and was obtained based on the distribution of research questionnaires. The results showed some important findings: First, learning motivation has a significant direct influence on learning habits, with a path coefficient of 0.673, indicating the critical role of Motivation in shaping positive learning patterns. Second, learning motivation was also shown to significantly influence the GPA with a path coefficient of 0.498, confirming its role as a key factor in academic achievement. Thirdly, learning habits did not considerably affect the GPA, with a path coefficient of only 0.253. Furthermore, it was found that learning habits did not play an effective role as a mediator in the relationship between learning motivation and grade point average. The practical implications of this study suggest that strategies to improve students' academic achievement should focus more on strengthening learning motivation without neglecting the importance of forming positive learning habits.

Abstract

This study explores the mathematical concepts embedded in the woven motifs of Buna, specifically Tais Kaimnutu and Buna Panbuat, from the Amanuban community, and their potential integration into mathematics education. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, the researchers conducted six months of observations, interviews with indigenous weavers and cultural experts, and documentation of woven patterns. The study reveals that Buna woven motifs embody rich mathematical concepts such as symmetry, geometric transformations, fractals, and group theory, while also reflecting deep cultural values, identity, and spirituality. These motifs serve as intuitive artistic and cosmological expressions, with mathematical interpretations offering a new form of cultural appreciation that respects local contexts. Educationally, these motifs support learning across all levels: introducing symmetry and spatial visualization in elementary school; deepening understanding of transformations and congruence in middle school; exploring fractals and algebraic structures in high school; and fostering culturally responsive teaching in higher education through ethnomathematics integrated with mathematical modeling and topology. Beyond pedagogy, the study emphasizes the importance of integrating indigenous knowledge into formal curricula to strengthen cultural identity, community involvement, and empowerment. It highlights ethnomathematics as a transformative bridge linking academic research, cultural preservation, and community development. Future research should explore participatory curriculum design and community perspectives on the mathematical interpretation of indigenous crafts to enhance educational and cultural sustainability.
