Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in motivation and mastery of the practice of maintaining a 4 speed deer manual transmission system using the problem solving method. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were 34 students of class XI TKR-7. The study was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of five meetings, the first meeting in cycle I and cycle II was practical learning and the second to fifth meeting at the end of the cycle was a practice test. Data collection methods in this study used questionnaires, observations, tests, and documentation. The aspects studied include student motivation and student skills outcomes. The action given by the teacher is practical learning using problem solving practice methods . The steps undertaken in this study are compiling practical learning material in the form of job sheets practice, then the job sheet is distributed to the learning teams to work on, then after completing the next step the practice evaluation is carried out. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics . The results showed an increase in student motivation and skills in vocational subjects to improve the 4 speed deer manual transmission system . This is indicated by: (1) the percentage of students' learning motivation when learning practices in the first cycle reached 85.60%, with moderate criteria, in the second cycle increased to 76.19%, with high criteria. (2) the average value of student learning outcomes in the first cycle was 79.48 with good criteria, in the second cycle increased to 83.06, with very good criteria. (3) the classical learning completeness of students in cycle 1 was 82.36%, with high criteria, in cycle II it increased to 94.1 2 % with very high criteria.

Abstract

The mechanical operating clutch (threaded wire) on the motorcycle has been complained of having many disadvantages, including operational failure due to broken wire and heavy operating force. Therefore, this article reports the design of the hydraulic operating clutch mechanism on the Yamaha RX-King to replace mechanical systems. Modification is done by adding a master cylinder, fluid hose, release cylinder, and push rod. The calculation results show that the hydraulic operating clutch has the potential to reduce the operational force by up to 6x of mechanical clutch.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melatih masyarakat dalam service kendaraan bermotor khusunya sepda motor. Service sepeda motor yang dilaksanakan secara daring (dalam jaringan) untuk menyesuaikan pada masa pademi covid-19. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksankan pada tanggal 19 Mei  2020 dengan peserta masyarakat umum.Metode pelaksanaan program ini dimulai dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Dalam tahap persiapan penyelenggara dan mitra melakukan Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) terlebih dahulu untuk melaksanakan program, setelah dilaksanakan MoU dilaksanakan kegiatan dengan melibatkan mitra RAS (Riyadi Auto Service) dengan Pendidikan Teknik Otomotif Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo. Setelah dilaksanakan program, tahap terakhir dengan melaksanakan evaluasi. Evaluasi di gunakan untuk melihat sejauh mana kegiatan dan tanggapan peserta terhadap program yang dilaksanakan. Dari hasil analisis angket evaluasi di dapatkan hasil sebagai berikut: 1) Penguasaan materi narasumber dengan presentase skor 94 persen, 2) Ketepatan waktu kegiatan dengan presentase skor 89 persen, 3) Kebermanfaatan materi dengan presentase skor 93 persen, 4) Profesionalitas penyelenggara dengan presentase skor 91 persen, dan  5) Kepuasan peserta dengan presentase skor 96 persen. Dari hasil evaluasi di dapatkan respon dari peserta sangat bagus dan antusias dalam pelaksanakan kegiatan ini. Banyak dari peserta yang memberi respon ini perlu ada tindak lanjut dengan adanya pendampingan kegiatan.

Abstract

The weakness of 21st century skills in vocational education students, especially in the automotive department, is a big polemic that needs to be solved. Organizing project-based learning is a strong solution in improving 21st century skills in students. Moreover, the integration of the STEM approach allows collaboration between various disciplines at once. This study analyses the implementation of project-based learning with a STEM approach (PjBL-STEM)to improve 21st century skills through. A quasi-experimental study using a nonequivalent control group design was used by involving 214 vocational education students as the research sample. The data generated are in the form of the concept and implementation of PjBL-STEM and the value data from the observation of 21st century skills which are measured using the observation method. Data analysis involved paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test preceded by normality and homogeneity tests. The results showed that the PjBL-STEM model was proven to improve 21st century skills based on the paired effect of pretest to posttest and the difference in the posttest mean of the experimental class was higher than the control class. These results become recommendations, especially in vocational education in order to improve 21st century skills which are currently an important qualification in the world of work, equipping students with multi-competence, because it integrates various disciplines.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is: 1) investigating the implementation of the Teaching Factory in the Department of Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK Taman Karya Madya Teknik Kebumen in a systematic manner, 2) understanding the factors that support the implementation of Teaching Factory at SMK Taman Karya Madya Teknik Kebumen's Department of Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering, and 3) Recognizing the factors impeding the implementation of the Teaching Factory at SMK Taman Karya Madya Teknik Kebumen's Department of Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering.This study is a type of descriptive study. The method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out through 1) observation, 2) interview, and 3) documentation activities. The stages of description, reduction, and selection are all part of the research procedure.The study results that, overall, the management of the Teaching Factory implementation in the Department of Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering, the Teaching Factory workshop service unit at SMK Taman Karya Madya Teknik Kebumen has been well implemented. It has followed the concepts and objectives of the Teaching Factory itself in implementing the Teaching Factory workshop business unit as a manifestation of the Teaching Factory form. The involvement of students in the management of Teaching Factory implementation in the Department of Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering, the Teaching Factory workshop service unit at SMK Taman Karya Madya Teknik Kebumen is following the teaching factory learning concept in this case. Students are only involved in the implementation of the Teaching Factory in the Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering Department. Meanwhile, it is still carried out by the management of the Teaching Factory in the Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering Department, the Teaching Factory workshop service business unit at SMK Taman Karya Madya Teknik Kebumen in terms of Planning, Organizing, and Supervision.

Abstract

The objectives of this community service activity include 1) Implementing and applying Word, PowerPoint, and Excel programs to the community of Sukowuwuh, Bener, Purworejo villages, 2) Knowing the response of youth groups and Sukowuwuh Village Devices, Bener Purworejo. The Target of Community Service is Youth Organization and Sukowuwuh Village Apparatus. In computer training provided using the Sukowuwuh Village Hall. The training material is in the form of computer introduction, word processing using Microsoft Word, making presentations using PowerPoint, and introduction to Excel. The results of the implementation of this activity include: 1) Youth and Village can apply computers for correspondence in Youth and can design home-made food products in Sukowuwuh Village, Bener Sub-District, Purworejo District, 2) Community response is very positive and will apply knowledge owned for purposes in the village and accountant.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah  1) Mempraktikkan pelatihan komputer untuk mengaplikasikan program Word, Power Point, dan Excel kepada perangkat desa dan karangtaruna, 2) Karang Taruna dan Perangkat Desa memiliki kemampuan untuk memanfaatkan komputer. Sasaran Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah Karang Taruna dan Perangkat desa Balorejo. Dalam pelatihan komputer yang diberikan menggunakan Balai Desa Sukowuwuh. Materi pelatihan berupa pengenalan komputer, pengolahan kata menggunakan Mocrosoft Word, membuat presentasi menggunakan Power Point, serta pengenalan Excel. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini agar karang taruna dan desa dapat mengaplikasikan komputer untuk keperluan surat-menyurat di karang taruna dan dapat mendesain produk makanan rumahan di desa balorejo kecamatan Bonorowo kabupaten Kebumen.

Abstract

This research was carried out at Vocational High School (VHS), where the student’s abilities for The Starter Motor Electrical System were still low. The objectives of the study were: to know (1) the application of the TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) learning model for the Motor Starter Electrical System learning in VHS; (2) the improvement in learning outcomes and the percentage of student graduation in the Motor Stater Electrical System learning with the TAI application learning model in VHS; (3) the extent to which the escalation of learning outcomes and the percentage of student graduation in the Motor Stater Electrical System learning after the TAI learning model application. This research belongs to Classroom Action Research, and the subjects were the VHS students. Data were collected using observation methods and test instruments. After the data were obtained, it was analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The research results show that: (1) The application of learning using the TAI learning model is carried out in the planning, action and closing stages. (2) The implementation of the TAI learning model can improve students’ learning outcomes, (3) the percentage of students’ graduation of 33.33% with an average score of 60.55 was getting higher to 58.33% in the first cycle with an average value of 69.02 and 94.44% in the second cycle with an average value of 78.47, respectively. It indicates the escalation of the average value of the students’ learning outcomes by 9.45 and the percentage of students’ graduation by 36.11%, respectively.

Abstract

Teacher performance today is very much needed so that teachers can overcome and anticipate the challenges of changing times. An organization can make several efforts to improve the performance of its members, such as forming a strong organizational culture and commitment and creating job satisfaction for its members. This study aimed to examine the effect of organizational culture and commitment on teacher performance either directly or mediated by job satisfaction. The study respondents were private vocational high school teachers in Purworejo Regency in Indonesia using purposive sampling. The data was collected using a questionnaire, and then the data was processed using the Smart Partial Least Square method. The results indicate that organizational culture has a positive effect on teacher performance, while organizational commitment does not affect performance. Organizational culture and organizational commitment affect job satisfaction. Job satisfaction has an effect on performance. The conclusion from the results of this study is that organizational culture and organizational commitment, and the mediating role of job satisfaction are important factors for improving teacher performance. Keywords: Teacher performance, Organizational culture, Commitment, Job satisfaction

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: mengetahui bagaimana peningkatan keaktifan siswa kelas XI pada mata pelajaran pemeliharaan chasis dan pemindah tenaga kendaran ringan melalui model Project Based Learning di SMK Pembaharuan Purworejo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan kolaborasi antara peneliti, observer dan guru kelas dan melibatkan partisipasi siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kegiatan berupa 1) observasi, 2) tes unit kerja dan 3) dokumentasi. Prosedur penelitian meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model project based learning dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XI TKRO SMK Pembaharuan Purworejo. Hal ini terbukti dengan meningkatnya presentase keaktifan belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 61,15%. Sedangkan pelaksanaan siklus II presentase keaktifan siswa menjadi 80,12% dengan kualifikasi kualitas presentase keaktifan belajar siswa “tinggi”. Penelitian ini dihentikan pada siklus II karena berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada siklus II, telah berhasil mencapai indikator keberhasilan yaitu minimal 76% pada presentase keaktifan belajar siswa sehingga tidak dilakukan tindakan siklus III.
