Abstract

This research is motivated by the Kartu Seru learning media which has never been applied in Arabic language learning at Mts Darusshalihin Berru. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of educational game media (Kartu Seru) in improving vocabulary skills of Arabic language learning at MTs Darusshalihin Berru. This research approach is a quantitative approach with experimental research type. This research design used one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all students of Madrasah Tsanawiyyah Darusshalihin Berru class VIII consisting of class VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C. Sampling using random sampling technique and resulted in class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class. The type of instrument used is a pretest and posttest question of student learning outcomes totaling 30 questions with 10 matching questions with 20 multiple choice questions. The results showed that the experimental class experienced an increase in mastery of Arabic vocabulary (mufradat) with a higher percentage value than the control class. This is evidenced by the average value of class VIII B (control class) of 57.8% (pre-test) and 50.8% (post-test). The average value of class VIII A (experimental class) in percentage units is 63.4% (pre-test) and 92.2% (post-test). These results show that the application of educational games (Kartu Seru) in Arabic language learning has an influence on student learning outcome and is effective to be used to achieve Arabic language learning objectives. Abstract

This research aims to analyze: 1) the condition of the Darul Muta'allimin Tanah Merah Islamic boarding school in Aceh Singkil Regency, 2) the development of Tariqat Naqsyabandiah at the Darul Muta'allimin Islamic boarding school in Tanah Merah, 3) the Tariqat Naqsyabandiah method used in cultivating religious attitudes in Islamic boarding school students Darul Muta'allimin, 4) supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of Tariqat Naqsyabandiah in cultivating religious attitudes in students at the Darul Muta'allimin Tanah Merah Islamic boarding school. The research method used in this research is field research, namely research that aims to collect data and information from various observations in the field. The results of the research show that: 1) This Islamic boarding school has a social and religious influence on social development in the Aceh Singkil community through the activities of the Naqsyabandiyah , The existence of the Naqsyabandiyah and suluk orders at the Darul Muta'allimin Islamic Boarding School has experienced ups and downs, but the Naqsyabandiyah order still exists among the community and its existence is very well received because its aim is to get closer to Allah. Supporting factors in the implementation of Tariqat Naqsyabandiah, namely: strong will of the students, strategic location, appropriate place of prayer, well-established facilities, and Muryid and caliph who teach in earnest. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are: students who are sick or unhealthy and lack of enthusiasm for students in carrying out a series of activities of the Naqsyabandiyah congregation.

Abstract

In the Qur'an, the words zakat and prayer are often found together. According to the ulama, zakat is as important as prayer. Zakat, according to some academics and Islamic scholars, functions to encourage Muslims to be able to maintain their faith in Allah SWT by increasing their economic income. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the distribution of professional zakat funds carried out at YBM PLN UID North Sumatra. Qualitative methods with a descriptive analytical approach are used to understand the phenomenon of professional zakat comprehensively. In this research, purposive sample and snowball sampling methods were applied to identify informants, with a focus on amil at YBM PLN UID North Sumatra. The results of the analysis show that the management of professional zakat by the zakat amil plays a crucial role in ensuring the distribution of zakat is right on target and effective. The existence of a transparent and accountable system in managing zakat funds, the selection of competent amil, and the use of information technology are important factors in ensuring the success of the professional zakat program.

Abstract

Instagram, a popular social media platform with over a billion active users, has become a powerful tool for commercial organizations. Its visual-centric format, engagement features, and advertising capabilities provide businesses with unique opportunities to attract and retain customers. This analysis explores the effectiveness of Instagram in driving patronage for commercial organizations. Instagram has proven to be an effective platform for driving patronage for commercial organizations. Its visual-centric approach, robust engagement tools, and targeted advertising capabilities enable businesses to increase brand awareness, engage customers, and drive sales. However, success on Instagram requires a strategic approach, continuous effort, and adaptability to platform changes and audience preferences. By leveraging Instagram’s unique features and maintaining authenticity, businesses can significantly enhance their patronage and overall success. This study employed Uses and Gratification Theory and the survey method was used in the study. The population of this study consists of students of Caleb University. As such, the total number of students in Caleb University is 3000. The sample size selected for this study is Six hundred (600) and purposive sampling technique was adopted to select Six hundred (600) sample size. The findings of the study show students use Instagram for several purposes. It was also observed that the students assess the Instagram network in various ways and with different gadgets. The study concludes that the students pay a moderate level of attention to Instagram as this indicated that there was less addiction level by the students to the platform.

Abstract

This study analysed the influence of social media on news consumption and credibility, with reference to Lagos State. The study sought to assess the net benefits of social media as a source of information in Nigeria by determining the credibility of news obtained on various social media platforms in the country, and analyzing the challenges caused by social media through misinformation and fake news. Source Credibility Theory was employed in the study. A well-structured questionnaire served as instrument for data collection. The study made use of simple percentages and frequency statistics to analyse the data collected. Results from the analysis show that there is misinformation on social media platforms. Results show that Facebook is the greatest source of misinformation, followed by WhatsApp, and TikTok. Results show that social media misinformation is strongest by age, followed by education, income, and occupation. This implies that younger generations are most susceptible to social media misinformation, while those with lower education are also susceptible to misinformation from social media platforms. Therefore, not every user of social media can militate against social media misinformation. Based on these findings, this study recommends some measures of social media regulation. Verified accounts should be granted permission across social media platforms as source of information and news to users of social media. Also, the study recommends that social media users must ensure that they verify information and news received on social media before making use of such information.

Abstract

This study focused on the assessment of the role of the Nigerian media in educating the children and adolescent on the value of sex education, using two educational institutions in Lagos State. The research study adopted the survey method to collect data for an in-depth analysis, the researchers conducted a descriptive study with four objectives and four research questions. A total of 300 adolescents were randomly selected from among the 60865 students enrolled in Cedec International Secondary School and undergraduates of the University of Lagos State (Unilag) as part of a purposive sampling strategy for the research study. Data was gathered through the use of a questionnaire, which was then analyzed and summarized using frequency and percentage. The findings of this research show that most of the adolescents have insufficient knowledge about sex education therefore adolescents require scientific, religious and factual information to help them develop positive sexual attitudes and responsible healthy behaviors Moreover, most of the respondents agreed to the fact that sex education is effective, but most of them do not have sufficient knowledge so they require knowledge to prevent them from inventing their own mythologies and developing anti-social behaviors. Thus, the study recommends the encouragement of more sex education contents or programme in the Nigerian media through creditable sources such as national televisions and radios.

Abstract

This study looks at how people incorporate astrological practices into their daily lives and investigates the impact of astrology on personal beliefs and decisions. The poll was given to different respondents, indicating degrees of astrological engagement. Books are utilized less frequently than astrology applications, social media, and internet horoscopes by mainstream respondents seeking astrological information. The results show that astrology influences professional selections since it gives many respondents comfort, direction, and influence over relationships. Nonetheless, a significant proportion of the sample indicates that astrology does not influence at all, showing differences in astrology are seen and applied. The study also examines demographic factors like age and educational attainment to understand the broader context of astrological engagement. The conversation offers a thorough examination of astrology's place in modern life by utilizing viewpoints from historical books, online resources, and astrological literature. The findings imply that although astrology offers many people a relevant framework, its impact varies greatly, depending on personal views and the sources of astrological knowledge consulted. This study advances awareness of astrology's continuing influence on social and human dynamics and its persistence in modern spiritual practices.

Abstract

Digital safety for journalists in Lagos state is a complex and pressing issue that requires urgent attention. With the advancements in technology, journalists in Lagos state have embraced digital tools to disseminate information to their audience. However, this has also exposed them to various forms of digital threats such as cyber attacks, online harassment, and surveillance. The objectives of the study are to examine the magnitude of online attacks on journalists in Lagos State; to explore the online threats to journalists in Lagos State and to find out the consequences of the online attacks on journalists in Lagos State. The study employed the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT). The positivist approach of research design was adopted which informed the choice of survey method to generate data. Stratified sampling technique was adopted, which is a sampling method that deals with dividing the population of a study into groups called strata or stratum. Thus, this study stratified the population into, television, radio and newspaper from journalists in the media organizations were selected for study. The instrument of data collection for this study is questionnaire and frequency and percentage was used to present the data. The study concludes that Nigeria lacks adequate development which is not farfetched as it is seen in our society, the carious impediment of this development both politically and in all sphere are caused by corruption manifested in different form at different levels as identified in the course of the study: bribery, nepotism, embezzlement and misappropriation of funds. This has led to lack of political participation, lack of public trust in the government and weaken democratic institutions.

Abstract

Peatland is one of the lands that can be planted with oil palm. However, peatlands tend to dry out easily and produce methane gas. If methane gas exceeds the normal limit plus high temperatures it can trigger fires in oil palm plantations on peatlands. As a solution, an early warning system for fires on oil palm plantations on peat lands was built based on a website and telegram. The purpose of this system is to provide information to palm oil farmers regarding changes in methane gas levels and temperature in real time so that they can prevent fires. The components used to build this system are the ESP32 Module to connect the device to the internet, the MQ4 sensor to measure methane gas levels, the DHT11 sensor to measure temperature. The implementation process uses the C programming language to program tools through the Arduino IDE, PHP and MySQL applications to manage the database. Based on the test results, the system displays changes in data on methane gas levels and temperature every 10 seconds via the website and sends a telegram notification if the temperature increases by 1°C or the methane gas is above 1000 ppm. The tool that was built can work optimally at a radius of 15 m from the fire point.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji pengaruh kompetensi, independensi dan profesionalisme secara parsial dan simultan terhadap kualitas audit di Inspektorat Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dimana analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda. Data dalam penelitian ini didapatkan dengan menggunakan angket. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu sampling total yaitu menggunakan seluruh populasi menjadi sampel. Hal ini disebabkan karena populasi yang ada di lokasi penelitian kurang dari 100 yaitu 32 orang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variable kompetensi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas audit di Inspektorat Kota Jambi. Variable independensi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas audit di Inspektorat Kota Jambi. Variable profesionalisme berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas audit di Inspektorat Kota Jambi. Variable kompetensi, independensi, dan profesionalisme berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas audit di Inspektorat Kota Jambi.
