Abstract

Microlearning has shown positive effects, but there is still a lack of specific mapping of this topic. This creates an empirical gap that requires a scientific procedure to overcome it. Therefore, a bibliometric analysis was conducted that reviewed several previous publications related to microlearning in education, especially over the past twenty years, to fill this gap. Through a specific search, there were 127 documents published from 2005-2024 sourced from Scopus metadata. The data obtained were analyzed using Biblioshiny, R Studio, and VOSviewer software. The results of the analysis show that microlearning continues to grow from year to year; a significant increase occurred in 2020, which indicates the application of this method due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the country that publishes the most microlearning in education is China. Then, through keyword analysis, microlearning is closely related to technology platforms and systems in learning. The findings produced through this paper are expected to be used as a reference for readers who want to directly find publication trends on this topic without having to read relevant articles one by one. In conclusion, interest in microlearning continues to increase, with significant contributions from various countries and institutions. The implication is that this study reveals the trends, developments, and directions of microlearning research in the last two decades, which can be a strategic basis for curriculum development and educational innovation in the future.

Abstract

Many Automotive Engineering vocational school graduates end up working outside their field due to pressing economic needs. They tend to choose available jobs rather than wait for jobs that match their skills. Their families' limited financial situation means they don't have the flexibility to wait for job openings in the automotive industry, especially if those jobs require additional skills they haven't yet mastered. This situation reflects the fact that economic factors are the primary driver of career decisions, even when those decisions are not aligned with one's educational background. To address this issue, various strategies can be implemented. One such strategy is strengthening relationships between schools and industry through link and match programs. This study aims to determine the extent to which automotive engineering competence and the type of job pursued influence the job relevance of vocational high school (SMK) automotive graduates. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, and the data were analyzed through simple and multiple regression analysis. The sample consisted of SMK Automotive Engineering graduates in Gunungsitoli who had entered the workforce in 2023–2024. The results showed a significant relationship between automotive engineering competence and the type of job pursued with the job relevance of graduates. Both independent variables made a substantial contribution to the alignment between job and educational background.

Abstract

There is a gap between the objectives of secondary education programs and the current unemployment rate in Indonesia. Vocational High School (SMK) graduates, equipped with work knowledge and skills, still contribute significantly to the unemployment rate in Indonesia. Career guidance is essential, especially as initial preparation for entering the workforce for vocational high school students, as students still face challenges, such as deciding whether to work immediately or continue their studies at university after graduation. All these issues highlight the need for a more comprehensive approach to supporting students' career choices. This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) on career planning among students at SMK Swasta Pembda Nias. The three main components of TPB were analyzed in this study: attitude toward behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. A quantitative approach using a correlational survey method was employed, with data analyzed through simple and multiple regression techniques. The population comprised all students of SMK Swasta Pembda Nias, with samples taken using random sampling techniques. The findings indicate that each variable (attitude, subjective norm, and perceived control of behavior) has a significant effect on students' career planning. Furthermore, these three variables simultaneously influence career planning significantly. These results suggest that the implementation of TPB is an effective approach to guide career counseling strategies, especially in rural vocational school settings such as Nias.
