Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies presents significant opportunities for transforming pedagogical approaches in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This study describes the systematic development and empirical evaluation of an AI-Integrated Project-Based Learning (AI-PjBL) model designed to enhance technical competency, problem-solving skills, and digital literacy among vocational students. Using an educational design research methodology, the model was developed through iterative cycles of design, implementation, and evaluation. Participants consisted of 120 vocational students across two cohorts. Data were collected through competency assessments, student engagement surveys, and teacher observation rubrics. Results indicate statistically significant improvements in technical skill acquisition (p < 0.01), higher-order thinking, and collaborative performance compared to conventional instruction. The findings suggest that the AI-PjBL model offers a viable and scalable framework for modernising TVET curricula and preparing students for Industry 4.0 demands.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of career guidance, internship experience, emotional intelligence, and soft skills on the work readiness of students at SMKN 7 Sijunjung. This study employed a quantitative correlational design involving 73 twelfth-grade students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, assumption tests, simple and multiple regression analyses, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficients of determination. The results revealed that career guidance, internship experience, emotional intelligence, and soft skills each had positive and significant effects on work readiness, contributing 21.6%, 35.3%, 20.2%, and 24.7%, respectively. Simultaneously, these variables explained 46.2% of the variance in work readiness. These findings indicate that strengthening educational support and personal competencies is essential for enhancing vocational students' readiness for employment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun game edukasi berbasis Roblox sebagai media immersive learning untuk membantu calon siswa baru mengenal lingkungan sekolah secara interaktif dan menarik. Aplikasi ini dikembangkan dalam bentuk lingkungan virtual tiga dimensi yang memungkinkan pengguna melakukan eksplorasi area sekolah, berinteraksi dengan objek dan NPC (Non-Player Character), mengakses informasi fasilitas sekolah, serta mengikuti berbagai minigame edukatif yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pengguna terhadap lingkungan sekolah. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan metode Waterfall yang meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan untuk menghasilkan aplikasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Pengujian sistem dilakukan menggunakan metode Black Box Testing untuk memastikan seluruh fungsi aplikasi berjalan sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang telah ditetapkan. Selain itu, evaluasi pengguna dilakukan menggunakan metode System Usability Scale (SUS) untuk mengukur tingkat kegunaan dan kemudahan penggunaan aplikasi. Evaluasi melibatkan 10 responden yang terdiri dari siswa sekolah menengah atas dan guru sebagai calon pengguna. Hasil pengujian Black Box menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fitur aplikasi, seperti navigasi lingkungan virtual, interaksi objek, sistem informasi sekolah, NPC, dan minigame, berfungsi dengan baik sesuai skenario pengujian. Hasil evaluasi System Usability Scale memperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 87,75, yang termasuk dalam kategori Excellent dan menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi memiliki tingkat usability yang baik serta mudah digunakan oleh pengguna. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, game edukasi berbasis Roblox yang dikembangkan mampu menjadi media pengenalan lingkungan sekolah yang interaktif, menarik, dan efektif dalam mendukung proses immersive learning bagi calon siswa baru.

Abstract

Secondary school libraries in Indonesia largely remain dependent on manual or semi-digital record-keeping even as digital library adoption grows at the university level, creating gaps in data accuracy, user access, and accreditation readiness. This study addresses that gap by designing and developing a web-based library management system for SMAN 1 Tambang that integrates five functionalities which, based on the literature reviewed in this study, have not previously been reported within a single school library management system: AI-powered natural-language search using the Gemini API, automated WhatsApp overdue notifications via the Fonnte API, six-role access control, digital rights management (DRM) for digital collections, and QRIS-based fine payment through Midtrans. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, Laravel 12, MySQL, and Bootstrap 5. Black Box Testing across 30 scenarios achieved a 100% success rate. The AI search feature achieved an overall Precision of 69.23%, Recall of 75.00%, and F1-Score of 71.96%, with an average response time of 866 ms, while Load Testing recorded a 0.00% error rate under loads of 10–100 concurrent users. User Acceptance Testing involving 30 respondents yielded a mean score of 4.30 out of 5.00 ("Very Good"), supported by a valid and reliable instrument (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.9428). These findings demonstrate the technical feasibility of integrating AI-powered search, automated notifications, DRM, and digital payment within a unified school library management platform while improving both operational efficiency and service quality.

Abstract

Urgensi penelitian ini terletak pada kebutuhan akan sistem pengelolaan kelas yang lebih efektif, efisien, dan terintegrasi guna mendukung proses pembelajaran digital, meningkatkan interaksi guru–siswa, serta mengoptimalkan administrasi akademik secara modern dan sistematis. Supervisi pembelajaran, refleksi guru, evaluasi siswa, dan umpan balik pimpinan sekolah merupakan komponen penting dalam peningkatan mutu pembelajaran yang berkelanjutan. SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP masih melaksanakan proses tersebut secara manual, terpisah, dan belum terintegrasi, sehingga dokumentasi sulit ditelusuri dan tindak lanjut belum berjalan optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun aplikasi Classroom Management System (CMS) berbasis web yang mengintegrasikan keempat komponen tersebut dalam satu platform. Pengembangan sistem menggunakan model Waterfall melalui tahap analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Pengumpulan data pada tahap analisis kebutuhan dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dibangun menyediakan akses berbasis peran bagi admin, kepala sekolah, wakil kurikulum, guru, dan siswa untuk mengelola data akademik, pertemuan, refleksi pembelajaran, evaluasi siswa, laporan supervisi, dan komentar tindak lanjut. Berdasarkan dokumen pengujian white-box, pengujian mencakup 72 fungsi dengan 116 jalur independen. Seluruh skenario uji dinyatakan berhasil, sedangkan nilai kompleksitas siklomatis berada pada rentang 1-4 sehingga struktur program tergolong mudah dipelihara. Dengan demikian, CMS yang dikembangkan layak digunakan pada aspek fungsional karena mampu mendukung manajemen pembelajaran yang lebih sistematis, terdokumentasi, dan mudah ditelusuri. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi supervisi, refleksi, evaluasi siswa, dan umpan balik dalam satu sistem web dapat menjadi solusi praktis untuk memperkuat pengendalian mutu pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

The effectiveness of academic supervision in middle schools is often hindered by delayed feedback loops due to inefficient conventional data management. This study aims to develop a mobile-based academic supervision and teacher performance evaluation digitalization system at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP, integrating three pillars of oversight: leadership supervision, teacher self-reflection, and authentic student evaluation. Using the Waterfall development method, this study involved the principal, vice-principal of curriculum, administrative staff, teachers, and student representatives as respondents. Functional validation was conducted using blackbox testing techniques to ensure all modules operate consistently according to requirements specifications. The results indicate that the integration of oversight modules into a Flutter and MySQL-based mobile platform significantly reduces data recapitulation time, from days to real-time data presentation. The substantial findings of this study emphasize that digitalization can strengthen transparency and accountability in teacher performance assessment objectively. The practical implication of this system is the creation of a data-driven educator professionalism culture, where feedback for improving teaching quality can be received instantaneously to continuously enhance the quality of learning.

Abstract

Computer hardware learning in vocational high schools is often constrained by limited practicum equipment, restricting students' access to hardware components, while conventional media further limit independent study. This study aimed to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning medium for computer hardware material, integrating three-dimensional visualization, a gamified assessment, and an anti-tab-switching mechanism to support assessment integrity. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), with the Disseminate stage limited to a small-scale practicality trial. The AR application was developed using Unity 3D, Blender, and Vuforia SDK with marker-based tracking to visualize the motherboard, processor, RAM, hard disk, power supply, and VGA card. Product validity was assessed by three media experts and three material experts using Likert-scale instruments, while practicality was evaluated through a questionnaire administered to 10 students from a population of 20 Grade X Computer and Network Engineering students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang. The results showed media validity of 91.25%, material validity of 93.81%, and practicality of 94%, each categorized as very valid or very practical. These findings indicate that the developed AR-based media is feasible and practical for interactive, independent hardware learning while maintaining assessment integrity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat penerimaan pengguna terhadap Sistem Layanan Praktek Industri berbasis digital di SMK Negeri 5 Padang menggunakan pendekatan Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Sistem ini dikembangkan untuk menggantikan layanan manual yang selama ini menimbulkan berbagai kendala administratif, mulai dari antrean panjang, duplikasi data, hingga keterlambatan informasi bagi siswa, guru pembimbing, dan mitra industri. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 1.414 pengguna aktif sistem, yang terdiri atas siswa, tenaga pendidik, dan mitra industri. Sampel penelitian ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan 5%, sehingga diperoleh jumlah sampel minimal sebanyak 312 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah proportional random sampling agar setiap kelompok pengguna terwakili secara proporsional. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner berskala Likert 1–5 dan dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengukur lima konstruk TAM: Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Attitude Toward Using (ATU), Behavioral Intention to Use (BI), dan Actual System Use (AU). Validitas instrumen diuji melalui outer loading (≥0,70) dan Average Variance Extracted (AVE >0,50), sedangkan reliabilitas dikonfirmasi melalui Cronbach's Alpha dan Composite Reliability. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa seluruh konstruk TAM berada dalam kategori tinggi dengan rentang nilai rata‑rata (mean) antara 4,04 hingga 4,12. Secara rinci, PEOU mencapai 81% (mean 4,04), PU 82% (mean 4,08), ATU 83% (mean 4,12), BI 82% (mean 4,12), dan AU 81% (mean 4,06). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengguna menilai sistem mudah digunakan, bermanfaat, memiliki sikap positif, niat penggunaan yang kuat, dan telah menggunakan sistem secara aktual. Secara praktis, hasil penelitian ini memberikan implikasi bagi pengembangan sistem, khususnya perlunya penambahan fitur panduan interaktif dan optimalisasi antarmuka mobile untuk meningkatkan kemudahan pemahaman sistem.

Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged educational institutions to implement digital systems to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative services. Laboratories in vocational schools play an important role in supporting practical learning activities; therefore, effective laboratory management is required to support operational activities and competency-based learning processes. However, laboratory management at SMKN 5 Padang was still conducted manually using notebooks and spreadsheet-based administration, causing several problems such as data inconsistency, scheduling conflicts, inefficient equipment borrowing processes, difficulties in monitoring inventory, and delays in report generation. This study aimed to design and develop a web-based laboratory service system at SMKN 5 Padang using the Waterfall software development model. The research stages consisted of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, verification, and maintenance. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation studies involving laboratory staff, teachers, students, and school management. The developed system provides integrated features such as laboratory scheduling management, inventory management, equipment borrowing and returning services, damage reporting, and laboratory activity monitoring. The implementation results indicate that the proposed system successfully digitalizes laboratory administrative processes, improves data accessibility, simplifies operational workflows, and supports centralized laboratory management. Therefore, the developed system is expected to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of laboratory service activities at SMKN 5 Padang.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi di bidang pendidikan mendorong sekolah untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan administrasi dan literasi melalui transformasi digital. Salah satu unit sekolah yang membutuhkan pengelolaan berbasis teknologi adalah perpustakaan. SMKN 5 Padang masih melakukan pengelolaan administrasi perpustakaan secara manual dan semi digital sehingga menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan seperti lambatnya proses pengolahan data, kesalahan pencatatan transaksi buku, kesulitan dalam pencarian koleksi buku, serta keterlambatan pembuatan laporan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem informasi perpustakaan berbasis web menggunakan framework Laravel dan metode pengembangan Waterfall guna meningkatkan efisiensi layanan pengelolaan perpustakaan di SMKN 5 Padang. Tahapan metode Waterfall terdiri dari analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP, framework Laravel, Bootstrap, dan basis data MySQL. Pengujian sistem dilakukan menggunakan Black Box Testing dan System Usability Scale (SUS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dikembangkan mampu mengelola data buku, data anggota, transaksi peminjaman dan pengembalian, serta pembuatan laporan secara efektif dan real time. Pengujian Black Box menunjukkan seluruh fungsi sistem berjalan sesuai kebutuhan pengguna. Evaluasi usability juga menunjukkan hasil sangat baik dengan skor SUS berkisar antara 76,25 hingga 97,5 (kategori Best Imaginable dan Excellent) dari administrator, guru, dan siswa. Dengan demikian, sistem yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi, akurasi, dan aksesibilitas layanan perpustakaan di SMKN 5 Padang.
