Abstract

Marketing that was previously carried out traditionally has undergone changes with online marketing or through digital technology. In dealing with this shift, the marketing strategy has shifted from offline to online. One of the popular digital marketing strategies is affiliate marketing. In Indonesia, many affiliate practices are carried out by online marketplaces, for example Shopee. However, in the face of developments and variations in modern transactions, Islamic values must be maintained so that they are applied. Therefore, it is necessary to examine affiliate marketing practices from the perspective of Islamic law. In this study the authors conducted legal research in the form of normative juridical research. The data analysis method was carried out qualitatively. This study aims to identify whether affiliate practices in the Shopee e-commerce platform are in accordance with the principles of Islamic economic law, such as samsarah and wakalah bil ujrah contracts. By conducting an Islamic legal review of affiliated transactions at Shopee, this study seeks to assess the legitimacy and suitability of affiliated cooperation practices with Islamic sharia values and provisions. The results of this study indicate that the practice of affiliate marketing collaboration carried out by Shopee with affiliated participants can be permitted by complying with several conditions in the principles of Islamic law. The practice of paying commissions by Shopee to affiliated participants in Islam is in line with the samsarah and wakalah bil ujrah contracts

Abstract

This study aims to estimate aggregate loss (total loss) in private passenger car insurance data using the Bayesian approach of the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithm Gibbs-Sampling with the help of OpenBUGS software. The approach was carried out by modeling claim frequency data using Geometric and Negative Binomial distributions, and claim severity using Gamma and Lognormal distributions. Next, the prior for each model was determined, along with calculations for the likelihood function, joint distribution, marginal distribution, and posterior distribution. Since the resulting posterior distribution could not be calculated analytically, simulation was performed using OpenBUGS software to calculate it. Simulation was also used in predictive posterior calculations to estimate future aggregate losses. The results show that the Bayesian approach with the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method using the Gibbs-Sampling algorithm and its implementation through OpenBUGS software can be used to estimate aggregate loss. From the simulations used, it was found that the estimation of aggregate loss for private passenger car insurance is influenced by the selection of the frequency and severity of claims models. The Negative-Gamma Binomial model produced the highest posterior predictive estimate of aggregate loss at $75270.0, while the Geometric-Lognormal model provided the lowest estimate at $70500.0. Meanwhile, the model with the smallest standard deviation is the Negative Binomial-Lognormal model, which is $62720.0. This study contributes to insurance risk modeling, particularly in determining reserve funds and setting insurance premiums tailored to the target market of insurance companies.

Abstract

The Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) measures students’ numeracy skills, a crucial ability in the 21st-century digital era. However, PISA and the 2024 Indonesian Education Report show that Indonesian students’ numeracy skills remain low. This study aims to describe students’ numeracy skills in solving MCA questions on geometry and measurement content. The method used is descriptive with a qualitative approac. Data were collected through triangulation involving test results from seven MCA numeracy questions on geometry and measurement and through interviews. The subjects of this study consisted of 32 eighth-grade students from SMPN 40 Pekanbaru. The analysis of students’ answers revealed that 46.88% were categorized as low, 43.75% as moderate, and only 9.38% demonstrated a high level of numeracy proficiency. Interviews were conducted with selected students based on the results of the response analysis. Students in the high category were able to understand the context, interpret visual information, and apply reasoning and geometric concepts to real-life situations. They demonstrated the full range of cognitive processes, although improvements in accuracy are still needed. Students in the moderate category showed a lack of systematic thinking and often missed key details due to insufficient attentiveness when reading questions and selecting strategies. Meanwhile, students in the low category experienced fundamental difficulties in understanding visual information, units, and problem contexts. Their responses tended to be based on guesses rather than logical calculation, indicating the need for intensive support and more foundational instruction.

Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance remains a global health threat, with irrational antibiotic use being one of its main contributing factors. Social media platforms such as Instagram Reels now play an important role in public health communication, especially among younger audiences. This study aimed to evaluate the characteristics, quality, and reliability of antibiotic-related content on Instagram Reels through content analysis. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 100 videos selected using purposive sampling based on search results with the keyword “antibiotic use” over a two-week period in July 2025. Video quality was assessed using the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmark criteria and the Video Information and Quality Index (VIQI). The results showed that health professionals (50%) and health organizations (45%) were the main content creators, while influencers accounted for only 5%. The dominant themes included appropriate antibiotic use (55%) and resistance (38%), whereas self-medication (21%) and side effects (19%) were underrepresented, and no content addressed misinformation. Overall, video quality was moderate (VIQI-sum = 14.23), with high scores for authorship and currency but low scores for attribution and disclosure. Videos created by health professionals had significantly higher information quality than those by non-health influencers (p = 0.011). These findings highlight the potential of Instagram Reels as a medium for antibiotic education and emphasize the importance of healthcare professional involvement in ensuring evidence-based communication.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the opportunity of zakat to be integrated with takaful in order to expand the impact on well-being of underprivileged communities. Although the literature review on zakat and takaful integration is still limited, the authors managed to identify 13 scientific articles sourced from reputable journal databases, namely Web of Science, Dimensions, Emerald, and Scopus. The articles were processed using Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). The review of 13 selected articles identified the urgency of the need for microtakaful products in low-income groups, the scheme applied in the implementation of the integration of zakat and takaful, and fiqh studies on the integration of the two. This research is expected to provide insights for further research. This research seeks to fill the gap in the existing literature by specifically highlighting the potential of zakat in showing its role as an Islamic financial instrument that is relevant to the needs of today's society and has a positive impact on the welfare of underprivileged communities. In addition, the findings imply that integrating zakat with microtakaful could serve as a viable policy approach to strengthen financial inclusion and resilience among low-income groups.

Abstract

The development of early childhood language skills requires learning media that are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and capable of actively involving children in meaningful learning experiences. However, classroom practices often rely on limited and less interactive media, which may hinder optimal language development. This study aimed to develop an interactive storybook learning media and examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing early childhood language abilities, including receptive language, expressive language, and early literacy skills. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Four-D (4D) model, consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research was conducted at Runiah School Kindergarten in Makassar, involving teachers and children in a limited field trial. Data were collected through observation, documentation, expert validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and children’s language development assessments, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis and quantitative techniques, including the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results indicate that the interactive storybook media achieved a very high level of validity based on expert evaluation, was categorized as very practical according to teacher responses, and proved effective in significantly improving children’s language abilities, with most children reaching the Developing as Expected category and no longer classified as Not Yet Developed. The findings reveal that interactive storybook media not only enhance language outcomes but also increase children’s engagement, interest in reading, and active participation during learning activities. These results imply that interactive storybook media can serve as an effective and innovative alternative learning resource for early childhood educators, supporting language development while aligning with technological advancements and child-centered learning principles.
