Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and students’ academic achievement. The focus of the research is on ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Maiwa in the subject of Indonesian Language. The research method used is quantitative with an ex post facto approach and a correlational design. The instrument used was an emotional intelligence questionnaire based on a Likert scale and documentation of academic scores. The analysis results indicate that there is no significant correlation between emotional intelligence and students’ academic performance. With a significance value of 0.796 and a determination coefficient of only 0.1%, it can be concluded that emotional intelligence is not a dominant factor influencing academic achievement in this context. However, clustering analysis suggests that emotional intelligence may contribute to stability in the learning process. Therefore, educational approaches should consider students’ emotional aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms, strategies, and supporting and inhibiting factors for maintaining the Javanese language in the diaspora community in Pangkajene Village, Maritengngae District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The phenomenon of language shift that occurs due to social mobility and interaction with different language environments is the background to the importance of this study. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the maintenance of the Javanese language is carried out through the use of language in the family, social activities, and religious areas. The strategies applied include passing on the language to children, using Javanese in traditional activities, and getting used to it in daily communication. Supporting factors include a sense of pride in ethnic identity and the existence of a community of fellow diaspora, while inhibiting factors include the dominance of Indonesian and Bugis languages in the surrounding environment and the lack of interest of the younger generation. This study emphasizes the importance of the role of families and communities in maintaining the sustainability of regional languages in a multicultural society.

Abstract

This article examines the role of balaghah (Arabic rhetoric) as a methodological approach to achieving a deeper and more contextual understanding of the Qur'an, and its contribution to enhancing religious literacy within Muslim communities. In Islamic tradition, balaghah consists of three primary branches—ma‘ānī (semantics), bayān (clarity through figurative language), and badī‘ (aesthetic embellishment)—which function to reveal the rhetorical power and layered meanings of the sacred text. Employing a qualitative-conceptual method based on literature review, this study analyzes both classical and contemporary sources, including peer-reviewed scholarly works. The findings demonstrate that integrating balaghah into Islamic education and da’wah practices can significantly improve critical and spiritual comprehension of the Qur’an, while countering rigid and literalist interpretations. Despite challenges such as the complexity of materials and lack of contextualized learning resources, pedagogical innovations—such as contextualized curriculum, digital media integration, and teacher training—offer promising solutions. Thus, balaghah is not only essential for understanding Qur'anic linguistic beauty, but also serves as a strategic tool for cultivating reflective, moderate, and textually literate Muslim communities. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP melalui pengembangan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis model problem based learning (PBL) diintegerasikan dengan Ekowisata Sebau. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan model 4D. Model ini terdiri dari empat tahap pengembangan, yaitu Define, Design, Develop, and disseminate. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IX SMPN 2 Wanasaba yang berjumlah 47 orang. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik diperoleh dari hasil tes uraian yang diberikan pada awal (pre-test) dan akhir pembelajaran (post-test). Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dihitung berdasarkan nilai N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai N-gain sebesar 74,61% berada pada kategori peningkatan hasil belajar yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis model Problem Based Learning (PBL) diintegerasikan dengan Ekowisata Sebau meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik secara signifikan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze directive speech acts in Dr. Aisyah Dahlan's lectures, especially in lectures entitled Building a Harmonious and Romantic Family with a focus on the forms, functions, and communication strategies used. Data collection was conducted in January 2025 with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from lecture videos uploaded on Dr. Aisyah Dahlan's official YouTube channel, through listening, transcription, and recording techniques. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the most dominant form of directive speech acts was interrogative, followed by declarative and imperative. The most frequently used function was questions, followed by advice, requests, orders, prohibitions, and granting permission. The communication strategy used includes five elements in the Lasswell model, namely Dr. Aisyah Dahlan as a communicator (who?). Each message has a different purpose, such as building interaction, creating closeness, arousing emotions, and making it easier for the audience to understand the material (what?). The lecture was delivered live and broadcast on YouTube (which channel?) to the general audience (to whom?). This strategy produced a communication effect in the form of increased attention, the emergence of emotional responses, and the growth of audience awareness of the contents of the lecture message (with what effect?).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis konflik batin tokoh utama dalam cerpen Pulang karya OJ Hara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik studi pustaka dan pencatatan kutipan yang relevan. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori strukturalisme. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tema sentral dalam cerpen ini adalah dilema antara ambisi pribadi dan tanggung jawab sosial yang tercermin dalam pergulatan batin tokoh Tri Siswanto saat menghadapi permintaan ayahnya untuk pulang ke desa. Latar tempat dan sosial memperkuat ketegangan tersebut, dengan kontras antara kehidupan sederhana di desa dan kemewahan di kota besar. Sudut pandang orang ketiga serba tahu memungkinkan narasi menggali kedalaman psikologis tokoh secara efektif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa cerpen Pulang merefleksikan dinamika pergeseran nilai budaya antara modernitas dan tradisi serta menegaskan pentingnya tanggung jawab keluarga dalam menentukan identitas diri. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pemahaman sastra Indonesia kontemporer khususnya dalam analisis struktural dan tema konflik budaya.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine the cause of the difference between the commercial financial statements that are done through the taxpayer on the fiscal financial statements in accordance with general provisions and taxation procedures. And to determine how the process of preparing the fiscal reconciliation is carried out at PT Mata Indah Nusantara in the 2020 fiscal year. The method determined through the research is a comparative descriptive method, which is a method that illustrates the commercial budget to be analyzed, and comparative, namely comparing the commercial budget prepared by the taxpayer, with the fiscal budget that has been calculated by the author.The results of the study indicate that there is a difference between the commercial financial statements and fiscal, namely differences in the basis of taxpayer recognition, negative tax adjustments including negative correction costs, namely CSR costs and depreciation costs. The implication of this research is that corporate entities need to carry out fiscal reconciliation, because there are differences in cost recognition between fiscal regulations and accounting standards that apply in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to design a project risk management system to mitigate delays in the land-based construction industry, using a case study of the PT Sabar Sejahtera coastal protection project. The project experienced a three-month delay, resulting in financial losses and lost business opportunities due to a lump-sum contract. The methods employed included both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with primary data collected through focus group discussions with project stakeholders and secondary data sourced from internal company documents. Root cause analysis used a Current Reality Tree (CRT) to identify the causes of delays, while solutions were visualized through a Future Reality Tree (FRT). Risk evaluation was conducted using a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to calculate the Risk Priority Number (RPN), as well as the application of a risk management framework based on the PMBOK 6th Edition. The results showed that the leading causes of delays were systematic errors at the tendering and planning stages, as well as the unavailability of a risk mitigation plan. These two factors caused a domino effect on procurement, equipment, schedules, and the confidence of the main contractor. Proposed solutions included improving the tendering and planning system by involving various departments early and implementing the complete PMBOK risk management cycle. The implications of this study highlight the importance of a structured risk management system in preventing similar project delays in the future. This study also provides strategic guidance for improving the efficiency and control of construction projects in complex work environments.

Abstract

 The tourism sector on the island of Java dominates the flow of domestic travel in Indonesia. East Java contributed the highest number with 198.91 million trips. However, this condition is still not evenly distributed across all regions. Based on the Online Tourist Visit Data (DAKUWISON), it was noted that there was a decrease in tourist visitors in Gresik Regency in 2023. This is not following the PPKM policy that was eliminated in the previous year. This research purposes to analyze the sentiment of reviews using the SVM-LDA classification method to determine their perceptions as an additional data-based opinion for tourism managers. Support Vector Machine (SVM) as a Supervised Learning method is applied in research, besides improving classification by adding the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) dimension reduction method. Data collection from Google Maps with a web scraping technique obtained 3460 reviews. The results of research from the evaluation comparison of each model show that the SVM model with LDA is better than the SVM model without LDA. The f1-score value of the SVM model with LDA is 66% higher than the SVM model without LDA, with an f1-score value of 53%. Based on the results of sentiment classification on 2023 data, it shows that visitor sentiment tends to be positive, with 511 reviews, 456 positive sentiments, 33 negative sentiments, and 22 neutral sentiments obtained.

Abstract

Penumpukan sampah yang tidak terkontrol menjadi permasalahan utama di lingkungan kampus Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, penelitian ini merancang dan membangun sistem Smart Trash Can berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang dapat memonitor volume sampah secara otomatis dan mengirim notifikasi melalui aplikasi Telegram. Sistem ini menggunakan NodeMCU ESP8266 sebagai pengontrol utama, sensor ultrasonik HC-SR04 untuk mengukur volume sampah, motor servo untuk membuka dan menutup tutup tempat sampah, serta buzzer sebagai peringatan ketika kapasitas penuh. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem dapat bekerja secara optimal dengan mengirimkan notifikasi saat sampah mencapai kapasitas 20%, 60%, dan 100%. Implementasi sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan sampah di lingkungan kampus.
