Abstract

This article aims to analyze the contribution of Maqasid al-Shariah to sustainable economic development from the perspective of contemporary Islamic economics. Maqasid al-Shariah, which encompasses the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property, serves as a fundamental normative framework in designing an economic system that is not only materially just but also fulfills the spiritual and social needs of society. Using a qualitative approach based on library research, this article examines classical and contemporary literature to explain how the principles of Maqasid al-Shariah are implemented in Islamic financial sectors, wealth distribution, halal financial product innovation, and economic policies grounded in social justice. The analysis reveals that the application of Maqasid al-Shariah can provide strategic direction in establishing an inclusive, just, and sustainable Islamic economic system. This article also highlights implementation challenges, including the need for Shariah-compliant regulations that are adaptable to technological advancements and the complexities of global markets. Therefore, Maqasid al-Shariah is not only theoretically relevant but also carries significant practical implications for promoting public welfare and prosperity within the context of the modern economy.

Abstract

Liquid smoke has been widely applied in various fields. Several studies have developed methods, tools and materials for making liquid smoke. This research aims to design a tool for making liquid smoke using a simple pyrolysis method on a laboratory scale. The goal is that this tool can be used by students for practicums to further increase students' insight and skills regarding liquid smoke. The stages of this research start from literature study, technology design, tool fabrication and testing as well as the evaluation stage. The results obtained in this research are that a liquid smoke pyrolysis device has been successfully made with a capacity of 6 kg. Based on the test results, grade 3 liquid smoke was produced.

Abstract

The study of employee and teacher performance is an interesting one. This study examines the impact of factors such as the managerial ability of the principal, teacher motivation, and the school's organizational climate, which are thought to fully support teacher performance. A quantitative associative research method was used, utilizing path analysis as a statistical tool. The research subjects were all 102 teachers at public high schools in Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency. The results revealed: (1) Teacher performance is influenced by the principal's managerial ability, both directly and indirectly through teacher motivation and the school's organizational climate, by 59.01%. (2) Work motivation influences teacher performance, both directly and indirectly through the principal's managerial ability and organizational climate, by 40.52%. (3) Teacher performance is influenced by the organizational climate, both directly and indirectly through the principal's managerial ability and teacher motivation, by 53.71%. (4) All three simultaneously contribute significantly to teacher performance by 61.4%. (5) There is a causal relationship between the variables of managerial ability, work motivation, and organizational climate, with a moderate categorization.

Abstract

The promotion process of Civil Servants (PNS) is a critical component of human resource management aimed at improving performance and professionalism. However, in practice, the process often faces challenges such as subjective assessments and inefficiencies in data processing. This study aims to develop a classification model for determining the eligibility of regular promotions for civil servants using the Decision Tree C4.5 algorithm based on historical personnel data. The dataset consists of 6,193 records obtained from the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Agency of Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency. The attributes used include years of service, performance scores, and employment type. The research stages involve data preprocessing, feature selection, model construction, and evaluation using confusion matrix, accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The results indicate that the proposed model achieves an accuracy of 95.4%, with precision of 87.6%, recall of 83.7%, and F1-score of 85.6%. Additionally, the model generates interpretable decision rules that support decision-making processes. Therefore, the application of data mining using the C4.5 algorithm is proven effective in enhancing objectivity, transparency, and efficiency in civil servant promotion decision-making

Abstract

The development of Islamic banking in Indonesia has led to various sharia-based financial products, one of which is the Hajj bailout fund. This product serves as a solution for Muslims who wish to perform the pilgrimage but are constrained by the initial deposit requirement. This study aims to analyze the Hajj bailout contract from a fiqh muamalah perspective, reviewing its compliance with sharia principles and DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 29/DSN-MUI/VI/2002. The method used is a literature study by analyzing academic sources from journals, books, and related fatwas. The results show that the qardh wal ijarah contract is permissible as long as no additional benefits resembling riba are included and administrative fees only cover real costs. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, the Hajj bailout provides benefits by facilitating Muslims to perform the fifth pillar of Islam, but it must be maintained to avoid potential harm from excessive debt burdensy. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic educational values ​​in the formation of student character at MTs Manongkoki, Takalar Regency. The background of this study is the importance of the role of Islamic education in forming the personality and noble morals of students amidst the challenges of the ever-evolving era. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the values ​​of Islamic education applied at MTs Manongkoki include the values ​​of faith, honesty, responsibility, discipline, and social concern. The implementation of these values ​​is carried out through formal learning in the classroom, religious extracurricular activities, as well as the role models of teachers and a religious school environment. Supporting factors in the formation of student character are the active role of teachers, parental support, and school religious programs. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced include the influence of the environment outside the school and the lack of individual student discipline. This study concludes that the implementation of Islamic educational values ​​at MTs Manongkoki contributes significantly to forming the character of students who have noble and responsible morals.

Abstract

Religious moderation is a fundamental concept in Islamic teachings that prioritizes the principles of balance, justice and tolerance, both in religious and social life. In facing the challenges of globalization and the dynamics of modern times such as radicalism, gender inequality, human rights violations, and environmental crises, a moderate approach to religion is an important strategy in maintaining harmony, harmony, and diversity. This research aims to explore the relevance of religious moderation in the contemporary social context by highlighting the importance of reinterpreting Islamic teachings based on the values of gender justice, respect for human rights, and rejection of all forms of violence in the name of religion. Through a study of contemporary Islamic thought and the maqashid sharia approach (the main purpose of sharia), this study reveals that religious moderation can be used as a foundation in the formation of character education, the development of inclusive public policies, and the strengthening of constructive interfaith dialog. This approach not only plays a role in overcoming social polarization, but also in building a just, equal and sustainable society. Thus, religious moderation in Islam is not just a middle-of-the-road attitude, but an active commitment to the values of civilization, social justice and peace. The findings of this study confirm that a moderate and contextualized Islam is able to contribute to a just and sustainable society.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity (PKM) was carried out in response to the problems of limited water access and dependence on conventional irrigation systems faced by the "Pa Wali Walian" Farmers Group in Kampung Jawa Village, North Tondano District, Minahasa Regency. These conditions have resulted in low water-use efficiency and limited productivity and farm management in chili cultivation. To address these issues, activities were designed to sustainably improve farmers' knowledge, skills, and production capacity in using a drip irrigation system based on fluid mechanics concepts. The program was implemented through training, the installation of drip irrigation systems, and support for farm business management. A quantitative approach was used with a pre-experimental design (one-group pre-test and post-test), involving 17 farmers as participants. Data were collected through knowledge tests and closed-ended questionnaires using a Likert scale. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the average score increasing from 6.24 (pre-test) to 9.29 (post-test), which was confirmed by a paired-samples t-test analysis (p < 0.05). Participants' assessment of the drip irrigation system was also positive, particularly in terms of water and labor-use efficiency (average score of 27.47 out of 35) and farm management efficiency (average score of 27.71 out of 35). Satisfaction with the training was high (average score of 32.47 out of 40). These findings indicate that the application of a fluid-based drip irrigation system is practical, well received by the community, and is expected to make a significant contribution to increased productivity, resource efficiency, and sustainable local food security in the future. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan sebagai respons terhadap permasalahan keterbatasan akses air dan ketergantungan pada sistem irigasi konvensional yang dihadapi oleh Kelompok Tani “Pa Wali Walian” di Kelurahan Kampung Jawa, Kecamatan Tondano Utara, Kabupaten Minahasa. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada rendahnya efisiensi penggunaan air serta terbatasnya produktivitas dan manajemen usaha pertanian cabai. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan dirancang untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, serta kapasitas produksi petani secara berkelanjutan dalam menggunakan sistem irigasi tetes berbasis konsep mekanika fluida. Program dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan, instalasi sistem irigasi tetes, dan pendampingan manajemen usaha tani. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan desain pre-eksperimental (one group pre-test and post-test) melibatkan 17 petani sebagai peserta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pengetahuan dan kuesioner tertutup berskala Likert. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan peserta, dengan skor rata-rata naik dari 6,24 (pre-test) menjadi 9,29 (post-test), serta terkonfirmasi melalui analisis paired sample t-test (p < 0,05). Penilaian peserta terhadap sistem irigasi tetes juga positif, terutama dalam aspek efisiensi penggunaan air dan tenaga kerja (rerata skor 27,47 dari 35) serta efisiensi manajemen usaha tani (rerata 27,71 dari 35). Tingkat kepuasan terhadap pelatihan tergolong tinggi (rerata 32,47 dari 40). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan sistem irigasi tetes berbasis konsep fluida bersifat aplikatif, dapat diterima dengan baik oleh masyarakat yang diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan produktivitas, efisiensi sumber daya, dan ketahanan pangan lokal secara berkelanjutan di masa yang akan datang.
