Abstract

This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of soursop flower extract (Annona muricata L.) and hematological profile of rats (Rattus norvegicus) due to administration of soursop flower ethanol extract and Salmonella enteritidis infection. The concentrations of soursop flower ethanol extract used for the antibacterial activity test were 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, with the antibiotic ampicillin 10 g/disk was used s a positive control (PC) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) 10% as a negative control (NC). For examination of hematological features, 15 male rat aged two months were used. All rats were divided into 5 treatment groups, each consisting of three rats. The NC group was not given soursop flower ethanol extract and S. enteritidis infection. The PC group was not given soursop flower extract but was given S. enteritidis infection. Groups P1, P2, and P3 were given ethanol extracts of soursop flower at a dose of 0.18, 0.36, and 0.72 g/rat/day peroral for a week using gastric sonde. On the following day (after administration of soursop flower extract) the first blood drawing was performed. All rats, except NC group, were then infected with S. enteritidis intraperitonially at dose of 3x108 CFU/mL dose (0.5 mL McFarland). One week after being infected with S. enteritidis, a second blood drawing was performed. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that there was no antibacterial activity was observed since no inhibition at various concentrations was formed. The administration of soursop flower extract at various dosage levels was able to maintain the number of leukocytes but reduced the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value and the number of platelets in rats; whereas S. enteritidis infection decreased all the hematologic features of lab rats.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to observe cortisol levels and liver histopathology of broiler chicken that were treated with black cumin oil (BCO) under heat stress. A total of 15 broiler chickens were used in this study and divided into 5 groups, K- (without treatment), K+ (given heat stress), P1 (given heat stress and 0.56mL BCO/400kg body weight, P2 (given heat stress and 1.11 mL BCO/400 g body weight), and P3 (given heat stress and 2.22 mL BCO/400 g body weight). Heat stress was given for 5 hours with temperature range of 34-35 C for 7 days. Cortisol was measured using the cortisol enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit. Liver histopathology was stained with hematoxylin eosin and observed with electron microscope. The data were analyzed using one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). This study found that application of heat stress to broiler chickens increased cortisol levels and induced histopathological changes in the liver. The BCO administration reduced cortisol level significantly (P0.05) in heat-stressed broilers. BCO administration also significantly reduced (P0.05) the degenerative changes in liver histopathology such as fat degeneration, hemorrhage and necrosis in broiler chickens under heat stress, but did not significantly influence the inflammatory cells infiltration. As conclusion, BCO administration to broiler chickens under heat stress can reduce cortisol levels and minimize histopathological changes in the liver.

Abstract

This study aimed to verify the effect of ethanol extract of jaloh leaves at various doses on parasitemia percentage of in mice (Mus musculus), wich inoculated Plasmodium berghei. This study used 12 male mice (Mus musculus) strains Balb / C with average body weight of 30.2 grams of 2-month-old. This research using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. All the mice were infected with Plasmodium berghei prior to treatment on three days post infected the mice in group 2,3 and 4 were given with extract ethanol jaloh leaves at dose 50, 100, 150 mg/kgbw inspectively. The mice in group 1 (K0) were not given anything and consident as control.Observations parasitemia percentage using microscopy on preparations stained thin blood smear Giemsa. The parasitemia percentage data were analyzed using one way ANOVA. On the average (SD) percentage of parasitemia during the three days in four treatments (K0, K1, K2, and K3) on the first day were 24.871.86; 24.331.53; 24.201.06; and 24.931.01. On the second day were 22.672.52; 23.001.00; 22.801.20; and 24.132.01; and on the third day were 24.771.66; 22.973.76; 21.131.90; and 24.271.42. Statistical analysis showed that ethanol extract of the jaloh leaves for KO, KI, KII, and KIV respectively treatment did not affect the percentage of parasitemia in mice (Mus musculus) inoculated Plasmodium berghei.

Abstract

Vermifilter is a greywater waste treatment by utilizing the symbiosis of earthworms with microbes. Vermifilter is more efficient, simple in design, and easy to maintain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vermibed material on the concentration of BOD5, NH3-N, and DO in greywater waste treatment using vermifilter. The study used four vermifilter reactors (VF) with filtration media for gravel, coconut fiber, rough sand, and vermibed. Reactor VF1 uses a vermibed mixture of mustard greens and cabbage, VF2 sawdust, VF3 banana stalk, and VF4 cow dung. This study provides results that VF1 removal BOD5 90%, NH3-N 98%, and increase DO 164%; FV2 removal BOD5 92%, NH3-N 98%, and increase DO 185%; FV3 removal BOD5 94.5% NH3-N 98.5%, and increased DO 156%; and FV4 decreased BOD5 93%, NH3-N 99%, and increased DO 270%. The media material had no significant effect on the concentration of BOD, NH3-N, and DO.

Abstract

Jurnal ini membahas tentang penggunaan diplomasi publik melalui kampanye Wonderful Indonesia dalam upaya promosi pariwisata pada masa pandemi Covid-19 di Amerika Serikat. Pandemi Covid-19 telah memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap industri pariwisata di seluruh dunia, termasuk Indonesia yang merupakan salah satu destinasi wisata terkenal. Dalam situasi ini, diplomasi publik menjadi penting dalam mempromosikan potensi pariwisata suatu negara kepada masyarakat internasional. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kampanye Wonderful Indonesia yang dilakukan oleh Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif Republik Indonesia melalui diplomasi publik dapat mempengaruhi persepsi dan minat wisatawan Amerika Serikat untuk mengunjungi Indonesia selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, data diperoleh dari sumber-sumber sekunder seperti dokumen resmi, artikel berita, dan laporan statistik terkait pariwisata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kampanye Wonderful Indonesia berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran dan minat wisatawan Amerika Serikat terhadap Indonesia selama masa pandemi. Diplomasi publik berperan penting dalam membangun citra positif tentang Indonesia sebagai tujuan wisata yang aman dan menarik, meskipun ada pembatasan perjalanan yang diterapkan akibat pandemi. Penggunaan media sosial, konten visual menarik, dan kolaborasi dengan influencer wisata juga terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan visibilitas dan daya tarik pariwisata Indonesia.

Abstract

Community behavior in the use and storage of drugs is a contributing factor to the emergence of unexpected events during therapy. The community needs to know the Beyond Use Date (BUD) information in order to use drugs correctly and ensure their safety. Current technological developments can be utilized to improve the quality of health services. One of the technological developments that can help in pharmaceutical services is the QR Code (Quick Response Code). This community service aims to implement a QR Code system to help PKK mothers improve community knowledge about the Beyond Use Date (BUD). This activity was carried out using the lecture method and providing QR Codes containing audiovisual education. The target of this activity was PKK mothers in Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang. The instruments used included PowerPoint presentations, educational QR Codes, and questionnaires. The results of the pretest and posttest showed an increase in knowledge after the activity was carried out. The results obtained in the Pretest questionnaire were included in the category of poor knowledge (0-59%) with an average value of 47%. Meanwhile, the level of PKK knowledge about Beyond Use Date (BUD) in the Posttest questionnaire is included in the good knowledge category (75-100%) with an average value of 79%. For the development of QR Code in delivering information to patients, on average, patients answered yes, but some did not agree. The conclusion of this service is that there was an increase in the level of PKK knowledge about Beyond Use Date (BUD) after being given drug information delivery using QR Code containing audiovisual (Postest), when compared to knowledge before being given the drug information delivery (Pretest).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh total quality management terhadap kinerja Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM), dengan sistem informasi akuntansi manajemen dianggap sebagai variabel moderasi. Penelitian tersebut melibatkan 122 UMKM yang beroperasi di Kota Cianjur, Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian kuantitatif digunakan, dan data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan software Warp PLS 8.0 untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Temuannya menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif signifikan total quality management terhadap kinerja UMKM. Selain itu, sistem informasi akuntansi manajemen juga berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja UMKM. Namun, sistem informasi akuntansi manajemen terlihat tidak memoderasi dampak total quality management terhadap kinerja UMKM.

Abstract

Abstract: Strengthening Child-Friendly Volunteer through Training of Trainers: An Adult Education Approach.  Objective: Strengthening human resources is an effort carried out with the aim of regenerating and continuity of resources so that they can be utilized optimally in the future. Method: This research using participatory action research method using an adult education approach. Implementation of research consists of the following process stages, namely: making preparations, carrying out training activities, carrying out evaluations, and follow-up development. Finding: The village officials which is focused on helping the village to continue to be consistent in carrying out activities for the community. FGD analysis of the needs of the target group which is a follow-up to socialization activities. Preparation of child-friendly village development carried out by researchers through the delivery of material as well as discussion activities guided to analyze the response of child-friendly village managers in identifying problems and obstacles still being faced as well as actions taken in the context of developing child-friendly villages. Abstract

The Group of Twenty (G20) is an international economic forum that focuses on solving challenges to global economic growth, including issues of trade, investment, finance, infrastructure, employment, corruption eradication, development, agriculture, technology, energy, innovation, and the economy. digital. In the current leadership period, Indonesia was elected as the G20 Presidency in 2022. This study uses a qualitative research method with a literature study approach with the aim of analyzing Indonesia's national interests in the G20 Presidency. The data sources of this study used primary data in the form of official government documents and reports and secondary data in the form of journal articles and online media news. The data obtained in this study were further reduced and analyzed. The results of this study indicate that Indonesia utilizes the G20 forum to achieve its national interests through multilateral meetings in various international and regional forums, such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) as well as promoting economic cooperation to deal with dominance of a large country or certain regional groups such as the United States and the European Union.

Abstract

The problem that will be revealed is how to manage goat manure, which was originally a waste in the environment, can be used as organic fertilizer which has proven to be very good in improving the structure of agricultural soil. Sources of organic matter can be in the form of compost, green manure, and manure. Organic fertilizers in the manufacture of manure in the form of nutrients are relatively high because goat manure is mixed with urine (urine) which also contains nutrients. The main purpose of this community service activity is to provide insight and knowledge and promote the management of goat manure into organic fertilizer to clean the surrounding environment because it is free from goat manure waste. Real work lecture activities for the community for residents of the Mojosari village have been carried out from 1 to 30 August 2022 with the theme ABCD (Asset Based Community-Driver Development). The training materials are provided in various forms, namely lectures, questions and answers, practice of making compost. The texture of goat manure is very distinctive because it is in the form of granules which are rather difficult to break down physically so that it greatly affects the decomposition process and the process of providing nutrients. Training in organic fertilizer production from goat manure has various benefits, including reducing waste accumulation and improving environmental cleanliness. Additionally, this training can decrease the unemployment rate in the Mojosari and Kepobar districts, as well as enhance the skills and income of the local community.   Abstrak : Permasalahan yang muncul adalah apa yang harus dilakukan dengan kotoran kambing yang semula dibuang ke lingkungan, namun dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk organik dan terbukti sangat baik dalam memperbaiki struktur tanah pertanian. Sumber bahan organik antara lain kompos dan sayuran. Kotoran kambing juga bisa dijadikan bahan. Kotoran kambing yang bercampur dengan urin yang juga mengandung unsur hara membuat pupuk organik berupa pupuk kandang relatif bergizi. Tujuan utama dari organisasi nirlaba ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan dan pengetahuan serta menggalakkan pengolahan kotoran kambing menjadi pupuk organik untuk membersihkan lingkungan karena bebas kotoran kambing. Kegiatan kursus praktik komunitas ABCD (Asset Based Community-Driver Development) bagi warga Kecamatan Mojosari. Materi pelatihan diberikan dalam berbagai format, antara lain ceramah, tanya jawab, dan latihan pembuatan pupuk kompos. Tekstur kotoran kambing sangat khas karena berbentuk butiran dan sulit terurai secara fisik sehingga berdampak besar pada proses dekomposisi dan  penyediaan unsur hara. Pelatihan produksi pupuk organik dari kotoran kambing memiliki berbagai manfaat, antara lain mengurangi timbunan sampah dan meningkatkan kebersihan lingkungan. Selain itu, pelatihan ini dapat mengurangi tingkat pengangguran di Kecamatan Mojosari dan Kepobar, serta meningkatkan keterampilan dan pendapatan masyarakat setempat.
