Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of coconut water (Cocos nucifera) applied as a spray onto feed for the masculinization and growth performance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The 63-day experiment employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments of coconut water doses (0, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, and 0.25 mL/g feed) and three replications. Measured parameters included male proportion, growth performance (absolute length and weight, specific growth rate), survival rate, and water quality. Results indicated that coconut water supplementation significantly influenced masculinization and growth. The optimal dose was 0.15 mL/g feed, which yielded the highest male proportion (63.65%)—a 13.65% increase over the control. At this dose, absolute length and weight reached 7.15 cm and 5.34 g, respectively, with a specific growth rate of 8.62%. In contrast, higher doses (0.20-0.25 mL/g) reduced both masculinization and growth performance, despite high survival rates (90-95%). Water quality parameters remained within optimal ranges throughout the trial. These findings suggest that coconut water is a viable, eco-friendly alternative to synthetic hormones for tilapia masculinization and can enhance growth when applied at the recommended dosage.

Abstract

This article discusses the analysis of Islamic legal contracts and positive laws concerning the legal protection against financial technology losses based on peer-to-peer lending. This discussion is based on two raised subtopics namely 1) The importance of legal protection against the losses of the parties involved in this transaction and 2) The analysis regarding the contract used in this transaction, which is based on two perspectives, the Islamic legal contracts and positive law. Furthermore, this qualitative research uses a comparative approach. The data analyzed in this study were both primary and secondary. The primary and secondary data were collected from interviews conducted via different platforms with various related sources and from materials, such as journals, articles, and theses, respectively. The results of this study show the importance of legal protection for every party involved in peer-to-peer lending-based financial technology transactions. Some legal issues that have been frequently experienced, include defaults, misuse of personal data, and even the threat of terror received by debtors. Additionally, reviews regarding the contract in the transaction imposed by the organizer were based on 2 perspectives, namely Islamic law and positive law. The transaction process will only become illegal when it conflicts the Islamic laws with the elements of usury and interest in it. And based on the perspective of positive law itself, if there is a defect or anything contrary to decency or public order, the agreement or contract becomes null and void.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determination of margin and profit-sharing ratio (nisbah) in maintaining the profitability of Islamic banks. Margin and nisbah represent two primary instruments in Islamic banking operational systems utilized to generate profits without violating Sharia principles. This study employs a qualitative method using a systematic literature review and descriptive analysis approach. Data was obtained from various relevant literature sources, including books, accredited journals, scientific articles, and official reports from financial authorities such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The analysis technique was conducted by examining and comparing related theories to obtain a systematic understanding of the relationship between margin determination, nisbah, and Islamic bank profitability. The results of murabahah indicate that margin determination in murabahah financing products must consider operational costs, financing risks, and market conditions, whereas the determination of the profit-sharing ratio must be based on principles of justice, transparency, and mutual agreement between the bank and customers. The balance between margin and nisbah is crucial for maintaining competitiveness while enhancing customer trust. Furthermore, this study reveals that financing continues to dominate the revenue structure of Islamic banks in Indonesia, which poses implications for the fundamental spirit of profit and loss sharing in Islamic banking. This study is limited to a literature review approach without empirical quantitative analysis. Future research is recommended to conduct empirical studies examining the direct impact of margin and nisbah determination policies on Islamic bank profitability using quantitative methods. The findings provide strategic guidance for Islamic bank management in designing optimal portfolio compositions between margin-based and profit-sharing-based financing to achieve sustainable profitability while remaining compliant with Sharia principles

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of students’ expressions of happiness during the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17 at SMAN 7 Maros and to explain the intentions underlying these expressions. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative design. The primary data consist of students’ expressions of happiness, while the data sources are all students of SMAN 7 Maros who actively participated in the Independence Day celebrations, including competition participants, ceremony participants, performers in art performances, and other activities involving social interaction. The data emerged spontaneously during the course of the celebrations. The data were collected through observation, listening techniques, and documentation, and were analyzed using Searle’s theory of expressive speech acts combined with Goleman’s theory of emotional intelligence. The results show that all identified utterances belong to expressive speech acts that reflect the psychological states of the speakers. The forms of students’ expressions of happiness include encouragement, cheerfulness, joy, pride, admiration, satisfaction, congratulating, gratitude, and thankfulness. Expressions of admiration were the most dominant, while expressions of satisfaction, gratitude, and thankfulness were the least frequently found. In terms of intention, expressions of happiness function not only as expressions of positive emotions but also as a means, namely to provide support, convey appreciation, and strengthen togetherness and social relationships among students. These findings indicate that students’ emotional intelligence can be observed through language use in social interactions during the celebration. Thus, language plays a central role as a medium for expressing emotions and building solidarity in the context of Independence Day celebrations in the school environment

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the obstacles faced in implementing Storyline-based learning media in the classroom and to determine the perceptions of students and teachers towards the use of Storyline-based learning media. In this study, a qualitative approach will be applied through a case study method. The research sample was 23 people. This study was conducted in the fourth grade of the Ra Kartini Cerdas Bangsa Private Elementary School on Jl. Jati Rejo, Medan Estate, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra 20371. The use of Storyline-based learning media has been shown to increase student engagement and focus in reading. Visualizing stories through images makes it easier for students to understand the learning context, increases attention, and reduces boredom during learning activities. Students' reading skills showed positive developments during the implementation of Storyline-based learning media. Students were increasingly able to identify the storyline, read short sentences with more confidence, and understand the relationship between images and text. Shared reading activities and story sequencing played a role in strengthening students' understanding of the reading content. Student participation in learning increased throughout the learning process. Adjustments made by teachers, such as simplifying the storyline, improving the quality of visuals, and adjusting the pace of material delivery, encouraged students to be more active in answering questions, discussing, and taking turns reading. Teachers find it easier to deliver reading material. Storyline media helps teachers deliver material in a structured and engaging manner. Teachers also feel that the use of visuals can clarify learning messages and make it easier for students to understand the story's content. Questionnaire and interview data show a positive response from teachers and students to the use of Storyline media. Students feel that learning becomes more interesting and easier to understand, while teachers assess the media as relevant to student characteristics and appropriate to classroom learning needs. Overall, Storyline-based learning media can be an effective alternative in improving reading skills and creating more interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful learning for fourth-grade students.

Abstract

Referensi Alanur, S. N. Abstract

Marine-derived bioactive compounds have attracted increasing attention as natural antimicrobial agents for environmentally friendly hygiene products. Eucheuma cottonii, a red seaweed widely cultivated in Indonesia, contains phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and sulfated polysaccharides with potential antibacterial activity. This study examined the antibacterial activity of a hand sanitizer formulated with E. cottonii gel against selected pathogenic bacteria. Antibacterial activity was assessed using the disc diffusion method on Nutrient Agar against Escherichia coli FNCC 0091, Staphylococcus aureus FNCC 0047, and Salmonella typhimurium FNCC 0050. Treatments included E. cottonii gel hand sanitizer, a commercial hand sanitizer as a positive control, and distilled water as a negative control, each tested in triplicate. The E. cottonii gel hand sanitizer produced inhibition zones of 5 mm against E. coli, 10 mm against S. aureus, and 9 mm against S. typhimurium, whereas the commercial product produced inhibition zones of 2, 1, and 1 mm, respectively. These findings indicate that E. cottonii gel has promising preliminary antibacterial potential as a natural ingredient for hand sanitizer formulations, although further studies on formulation optimization, stability, and safety are urgently required.
