Abstract

Soil degradation due to mining activities has led to a significant decline in environmental quality, with the mining sector contributing to deforestation of 29,635 hectares and critical land in Indonesiareaching 12.7 million hectares. Additionally, heavy metal contamination has caused a 75% decreasein soil fertility, posing a threat to ecosystem health and human well-being. This study aims to explorethe effects of phytoremediation and amelioration on the rehabilitation of post-mining soils to enhancesoil health. The article employs a systematic literature review approach using PRISMA guidelines andbibliometric use VOSviewer 1.6.19 version analysis through Scopus search engine. A systematic reviewwas conducted on studies published between 2016 and 2026, and out of 1,942 identified articles, 15were deemed eligible for inclusion. The findings indicate that the synergy between phytoremediationand amelioration has significant potential in the recovery of post-mining soils contaminated withheavy metals. Phytoremediation plants such as Rumex nepalensis, which can accumulate heavy metalsup to 100%, have proven to be effective in reducing soil contamination. Moreover, ameliorants suchas biochar and compost can reduce the bioavailability of heavy metals by up to 75%, while improvingsoil quality by enhancing soil structure, raising pH, and supporting plant growth. The combination ofthese approaches creates more favorable conditions for plant growth, thereby accelerating therehabilitation of soils and ecosystem recovery. The appropriate selection of plant species andameliorants can significantly improve the efficiency and sustainability of post-mining soil restoration, offering a long-term solution to environmental degradation caused by mining activities.

Abstract

Islamic education has two main pillars, namely monotheism and adab, which are the foundation in shaping individual character and knowledge. Tawhid instills awareness of the oneness of Allah as the main basis for pursuing knowledge, while adab is a moral guideline that ensures that knowledge is practiced responsibly and ethically. In the tradition of Islamic education in the Malay world, the integration between tauhid and adab has been inherited by scholars who emphasize the importance of a balance between knowledge, faith, and morals. However, in the era of globalization, this concept faces great challenges due to the secularization of education and rapid technological development. Therefore, it is necessary to revitalize Islamic education based on monotheism and adab through strengthening the curriculum, innovating learning methods, and increasing awareness of the importance of Islamic values in the world of education. Thus, Islamic education can continue to contribute to producing a generation that has intellectual intelligence as well as high moral and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

In insurance, risk can occur at any time, causing claims to sometimes have a large amount of value, so that insurance companies may not be able to satisfy claim payments. If these situations occur, insurance companies need claim reserves to prepare for such events. There are several methods to calculate claim reserves, such as aggregate claim reserving. However, certain claim characteristics involve dependencies among claims, which result in a lack of detailed information for individual claims. In addition, an increasing number of claims becomes more difficult to compute using traditional methods. Therefore, this research aims to calculate individual claim reserves using one branch of machine learning, namely the Backpropagation Algorithm. The Backpropagation Algorithm is believed to remain relevant compared to other algorithmic models because, in several studies, it produces relatively low values of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), at approximately 2.70%. The data used in this research are simulated using R software, generating 10,000 claims over 20 years, consisting of 6,000 short-tailed claims and 4,000 long-tailed claims. The data model is evaluated using MAPE. The resulting MAPE value is 0.55%, indicating that the data are highly suitable for predictive modeling. The prediction results show that the total claims to be paid in the 21st development year reach Rp22,945,450,000,000, with an average claim amount of approximately Rp2,294,545,152. This research contributes to both informatics and actuarial science by developing an individual claim reserving approach to predict claim payments more efficiently.

Abstract

This study examined teachers' understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum at SDN 2 Dolo, focusing on conceptual comprehension and practical implementation of curriculum components. The curriculum emphasizes student-centered learning, differentiated instruction, and character development through the Pancasila Student Profile. Understanding teacher readiness is crucial for effective implementation, yet many Indonesian teachers struggle with both conceptual and procedural demands of curriculum reform. This qualitative descriptive study involved four classroom teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, questionnaires, and documentation analysis over two months. The Miles et al. interactive model guided data analysis through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings revealed that teachers demonstrated strong philosophical alignment with curriculum principles but significant gaps in technical implementation skills. While all teachers embraced student-centered learning concepts, 75% reported difficulties in developing learning objective flows (ATP) and 100% acknowledged inadequate understanding of diagnostic assessment practices. Teachers relied heavily on government-provided materials rather than designing independent teaching modules. However, an unexpected finding showed high teacher motivation and willingness to improve despite these challenges. The study concludes that effective curriculum implementation requires professional development addressing both conceptual understanding and procedural competencies through sustained training, collaborative learning communities, and mentoring support. These findings contribute to understanding the dual nature of teacher knowledge in curriculum reform contexts.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study examined the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model supported by monopoly learning media on fourth-grade students' learning interest in IPAS (Science and Social studies) subjects. Forty-four students at MI Muhammadiyah Al-Haq Palu were purposively selected based on low learning interest indicators and randomly assigned to experimental (n=22) and control (n=22) groups. The experimental group received TGT instruction with monopoly games, while the control group experienced conventional lecture-based teaching. A validated 20-item Guttman scale questionnaire measured learning interest before and after the two-session intervention. Data analysis employed paired samples t-tests, independent samples t-tests, normalized gain calculations, and Cohen's d effect size. Results revealed significant learning interest improvements in both groups (p < 0.001), with the experimental group demonstrating substantially greater gains (mean increase = 1.36, N-gain = 0.37) compared to the control group (mean increase = 0.91, N-gain = 0.18). The independent samples t-test confirmed significant differences between groups (p < 0.001, t = 3.954), with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 0.82). These findings indicate that TGT supported by monopoly media significantly and practically enhances elementary students' learning interest, offering educators an accessible, evidence-based strategy for improving affective outcomes in integrated science education.

Abstract

Environmental awareness among elementary students remains inadequate despite its critical importance for sustainable development. This qualitative case study investigated poster media implementation to foster environmental awareness at SD Inpres 3 Talise, examining implementation processes, behavioral changes, and obstacles encountered by educators. Twenty-four students from grades III, IV, and V, three homeroom teachers, and the school principal participated. Data were collected through systematic observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentary evidence, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman framework with triangulation for validity. Results revealed that strategically positioned posters combined with peer modeling effectively enhanced environmental awareness, with fifth-grade students demonstrating autonomous environmental behaviors, fourth-grade students showing consistent conduct requiring occasional reinforcement, and third-grade students displaying gradual improvements with substantial teacher guidance. Unexpected findings included spontaneous peer mentoring dynamics and location-dependent poster effectiveness. Seven implementation obstacles emerged: inconsistent student attention, attitude-behavior gaps, novelty effects, suboptimal placement, resource limitations, inadequate pedagogical integration, and limited teacher understanding of visual media pedagogy. Findings align with Mayer's Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, Bandura's Social Learning Theory, and Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior, demonstrating that posters function optimally as pedagogically integrated tools requiring strategic placement, content refreshment, and instructional reinforcement rather than passive displays. This study contributes practical insights for implementing cost-effective visual media interventions in resource-constrained educational settings.

Abstract

Multiplication instruction in elementary schools often relies on abstract presentations without adequate concrete support, resulting in low student achievement. This study investigated the effect of magic glass learning media on fourth-grade students' multiplication learning outcomes at SD Inpres 1 Tondo. A pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed with 26 fourth-grade students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using a 20-item multiple-choice test with established content validity (CVI > 0.78) and reliability (α = 0.82). Students completed a pretest, participated in four instructional sessions using magic glass media representing multiplication as repeated addition through cups and counting sticks, then completed a posttest. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics and paired-samples t-test (α = 0.05) following Shapiro-Wilk normality testing. Mean scores increased significantly from 35.40 (SD = 15.19) to 75.78 (SD = 18.65), representing a 114% improvement. The paired-samples t-test revealed statistically significant differences (t = -11.251, df = 25, p < 0.001). Low-performing students demonstrated particularly dramatic gains, while engagement remained consistently high throughout treatment sessions. Findings confirm that magic glass media effectively enhances multiplication learning by aligning with students' concrete operational developmental stage, consistent with Piagetian and Brunerian theories. The media facilitates meaningful conceptual understanding through hands-on manipulation, particularly benefiting struggling learners. Magic glass learning media represents an accessible, evidence-based intervention for improving elementary mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Low IPAS learning outcomes among sixth-grade students at Alkhairaat Tondo Elementary School, attributed to conventional teacher-centered instruction, necessitated pedagogical intervention to enhance student achievement and engagement. This study aimed to improve IPAS learning outcomes through systematic implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. Employing classroom action research based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, this study was conducted across two cycles with 26 sixth-grade students during October-November 2025. Data were collected through criterion-referenced achievement tests (20 items, KR-20 = 0.82) and validated observation sheets (Cohen's kappa = 0.85) documenting teacher and student activities. Analysis utilized both quantitative descriptive statistics and qualitative rubric-based assessment. Classical completeness increased significantly from 58% in Cycle I to 88% in Cycle II, representing a 30 percentage point improvement. Concurrently, teacher activity performance improved from 66% (adequate) to 91% (very good), while student engagement advanced from 64% to 89%. Notably, mid-range achievers (initial scores 60-75) demonstrated greater gains (average 18 points) compared to lower-achieving students (average 12 points), suggesting differential PBL impact across performance levels. Systematic PBL implementation effectively improves IPAS learning outcomes while enhancing teacher facilitation quality and student engagement. The iterative action research process enabled progressive refinement of instructional practices, though lower-achieving students may require additional scaffolding for equitable outcomes.

Abstract

PT XYZ operates in the manufacturing industry with a focus on producing wind musical instruments. The Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) inspection process at PT XYZ faces challenges related to the effectiveness and efficiency of quality control, as indicated by the high number of material defects recorded in April 2025, totaling 8,583 defective items. The incomplete implementation of the Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) method at PT XYZ has resulted in some inspection processes still being conducted through 100% inspection, leading to inefficiencies in inspection time, particularly given the limited number of available inspectors. This study aims to evaluate the application of the AQL method based on the ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 standard and to analyze sample performance as an effort to improve inspection efficiency. The methods applied in this study include the use of the Seven Tools approach to identify types of defects, the application of the AQL method in the sampling process and lot acceptance decision-making, and the measurement of sample performance. The Seven Tools analysis identified scratch defects as the most dominant type, accounting for 35% of the total defects. The implementation of the AQL method resulted in an AQL value of 2.5 under the normal inspection category, with a sample size of 20 units and acceptance and rejection numbers of 1 and 2, respectively. The sample performance evaluation showed an Operating Characteristic (OC) curve value of 0.9198, an Average Outgoing Quality (AOQ) of 1.916%, and an Average Total Inspection (ATI) of 29.7 units. These findings demonstrate that the application of the AQL method is effective in reducing defect rates while improving the efficiency of the IQA process without the need for 100% inspection.
