Abstract

The practice of waqf plays a significant role both as an act of worship and as a social asset supporting development. However, disputes often arise regarding the management and utilization of waqf land that do not comply with legal regulations. A case in Kadia Subdistrict, Kendari City, illustrates the legal dualism in determining the validity of waqf. This study aims to analyze judicial decisions on the validity of waqf from the perspectives of positive law and Islamic law, focusing on Decision No. 453/Pdt.G/2020/PA.Kdi. This research employs a normative legal method with a case approach, utilizing secondary data from legal regulations, court decisions, and literature on Islamic and positive law. The findings indicate that the court ruled to revoke the waqf status due to non-compliance with formal requirements under positive law, specifically the absence of an Authentic Deed of Waqf (AIW). However, from the perspective of Islamic law, the waqf remains valid as it fulfills the essential pillars of waqf. This discrepancy highlights a potential conflict between positive law and Islamic law in waqf practices in Indonesia. This study emphasizes the importance of harmonizing positive law and Islamic law in resolving waqf disputes to provide more comprehensive legal certainty. Strengthening regulations and raising awareness about proper waqf procedures under both legal systems are necessary to prevent future disputes.

Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the management of madrasah-Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) at MTs Tahfidz Yanbau'ul Qur'an, Menawan, Kudus, which is compatible with education quality management. This field research employed a qualitative approach involving the research subjects of Islamic boarding school leaders, madrasah heads, and teachers. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The method of analysis used was that after the data were obtained, they were then analyzed inductively using descriptive qualitative analysis, i.e., by describing various phenomena in education management as one of the standards for quality management in education. The results of this research highlight that Islamic boarding schools, or more specifically, Islamic boarding school-based madrasahs, are madrasahs that become one institution with Islamic boarding schoolsin their management. This madrasah combines the formal madrasah curriculum with the Islamic boarding school curriculum, with a mutually synergistic blend. The Islamic boarding school curriculum strengthens the madrasah curriculum, and conversely, the madrasah curriculum complements the Islamic boarding school curriculum. The Islamic boarding school curriculum is implemented with the Qur'an memorization and is religiously oriented, while the madrasah curriculum applies a general knowledge and science orientation. These two curricula are inseparable as achievement criteria or graduation standards for santri. The integration of these two curricula suggests that the existence of madrasahs is still relatively in line with the changing times that force all elements to adapt to the needs of educational service users.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a vital role in shaping the character and morality of Indonesia's youth. In the context of an increasingly complex society, Islamic education is expected to serve as a strong moral and ethical foundation for students. However, there are still gaps in the understanding and implementation of Islamic education across various educational institutions. This research aims to explore the role of Islamic education in educating character-driven generations and to identify effective teaching methods in Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach, with subjects comprising students, teachers, and parents from several schools in Aceh. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and direct classroom observations. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis. The findings suggest that Islamic education has a significant impact on shaping students' character, enhancing their social awareness, and strengthening their religious identity. Interactive and contextual teaching methods have proven to be more effective in enhancing students' understanding of Islamic values. Islamic education has excellent potential in educating the youth and forming ethical character. Parental involvement and the relevance of Islamic education to local contexts are also essential factors in the success of this education. This research offers new insights into the role of Islamic education within Indonesia's educational system and is expected to encourage the development of more effective and relevant curricula. Keywords: Islamic Education; Character; Morality; Teaching Methods; Social Awareness

Abstract

The learning of reading skills is one of the important aspects in mastering the Arabic language. However, the lack of motivation and student engagement in the learning process often becomes an obstacle in achieving learning goals. Therefore, innovation in the use of learning media is needed to enhance student motivation and interactivity. This study aims to 1) determine the use of Monopoly media in teaching reading skills to students at MTs Islamiyah Malang and 2) identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the use of Monopoly media in this learning process. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using observation, interviews, and documentation methods to collect data. The research subjects are teachers and students of MTs Islamiyah Malang who are directly involved in the learning process. The results indicate that the use of monopoly media in teaching reading skills has a positive impact on students' motivation and engagement. This media makes learning more interesting and interactive, thereby motivating students to actively participate in reading Arabic texts. Additionally, teachers find the structured gameplay helpful in delivering material more enjoyably. The supporting factors for using monopoly media in teaching reading skills to MTs students are 1) high student interest in game-based learning media, 2) attractive learning material design, and 3) available learning facilities at school. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include 1) limited instructional time, 2) differences in students' abilities, and 3) technical constraints.

Abstract

TikTok is one of the most widely used social media platforms, featuring video-based content with durations ranging from 15 seconds to 10 minutes, providing interactive services for users of all demographics. Excessive use of TikTok can lead to negative effects, including potential impacts on an individual's academic performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of TikTok on users' academic achievement tendencies, providing insights into the impact of TikTok usage on academic performance and identifying necessary preventive measures to avoid excessive use of the application. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via a TikTok account, and an analysis was conducted to analyze the correlation between TikTok usage and its impact on users' academic performance. The findings indicate that the correlation strength in this study is weak, as evidenced by a Pearson Correlation value of 0.204, suggesting that TikTok may be a minor contributing factor influencing users' academic performance.
