Abstract

This classroom action research investigated the enhancement of student engagement and academic performance in a class VIII cohort at SMPN 7 Surabaya, utilizing a contextual learning model augmented with flipbook media. The study spanned two cycles and involved a group of 32 students. The first cycle's findings indicated a moderate level of student learning completion and an average achievement score of 69.44. In the subsequent cycle, there was a marked improvement in learning outcomes, with a significant rise in the average score to 80.40, reflecting the increased efficiency of the learning process. These results demonstrate that the incorporation of flipbook media into the contextual learning framework notably benefits student participation and academic success, particularly in understanding the Position and Function of Pancasila material. This approach was thus concluded to be effective in fostering better learning experiences and outcomes for the eighth-grade students at SMPN 7 Surabaya during the first semester of the academic year 2023-2024.Keywords: Contextual Learning, Flipbook, Learning outcomes,, Learning PerfectionDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/E3J/v6i2.198-206

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine The Influence of Sharia Compliance and Good Corporate Governance on the Financial Performance of Islamic Banks with Company Size as a Moderating Variable (Studies on Islamic Commercial Banks 2016-2021. Quantitative approach with Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia as a research object. A total of 48 samples originating from annual financial reports from 2016-2021 are used as a reference in processing data with the help of E-views 9 Software. The results showed that: Islamic Income Ratio and Profit Sharing Ratio variables partially have a positive and significant effect on financial performance. The Islamic Investment Ratio variable has no significant effect on the Bank's Financial Performance. Simultaneously the variables Islamic Income Ratio, Profit Sharing Ratio, Islamic Investment Ratio, Good Corporate Governance together will improve the Bank's Financial Performance. Islamic Income Ratio, Islamic Investment Ratio and Good Corporate Governance variables which are moderated by company size do not affect the financial performance of Islamic commercial banks. Meanwhile, the Variable Profit Sharing Ratio, which is moderated by company size, has an effect on the financial performance of Islamic commercial banks. Abstract

This research aims to develop a mind mapping-based learning media using PowerPoint for Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) class V elementary school subjects. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model until the implementation stage. The research subjects include material experts, media experts, teachers, and grade V students of SDN 21 Reo Behe. The data collection instruments are validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and tests. The results of the study showed that the mind mapping media obtained a very feasible category from material experts (90%), media experts (92.5%), linguists (94%), and teachers (91.25%). Student responses in the limited trial (93.33%) and field (97.08%) categories were very positive. Learning outcomes increased from an average of 48.13 to 85.63 in the posttest with an N-gain of 0.72 in the high category. Thus, mind mapping media has been proven to be valid, practical, and effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of taxpayer’s satisfaction in the relationship between service quality of account representative and voluntary tax compliance. The research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 327 taxpayers who had previously consulted with an account representative. Structural equation modelling (SEM) using AMOS Graphics was employed to analyse the data. The research results showed that the service quality of account representatives and taxpayer satisfaction had positive and significant effects on voluntary compliance. This study also found that taxpayer satisfaction does not mediate the relationship between the service quality of account representatives and voluntary. This was because tax payments are compulsory and based on law, so whether the taxpayers are satisfied with the service of the account representative does not affect their compliance in paying the taxes.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of e-book development as a concrete effort to support the vision of intellectually and spiritually superior madrasah education. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Qualitative data were analysed descriptively, while quantitative data were analysed using paired t-tests on pretest and posttest results. The findings show that the e-book on madrasah principal leadership grounded in Islamic boarding school culture is efficacious in improving students' digital literacy. This is indicated by the t-test result (0.014 < 0.05), which shows a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, and by an N-gain score of 2.795 (279.52%), which falls into the high and highly effective category. The e-book was found to be less effective in improving students' religious moderation. Although the t-test result (0.000 < 0.05) indicates a significant difference, the N-gain score was only 0.482 (48.2%), which is considered moderate and interpreted as less effective according to the effectiveness Table. Therefore, while the e-book has proven more effective at enhancing students' digital literacy, it still requires further development to instil values of religious moderation effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the marketing strategy of digital product financing for gold installments at Bank Syariah Indonesia sub-branch office Surabaya Diponogoro. The subjects of this study were employees of BSI KCP Surabaya Diponegoro. This study uses a descriptive analysis method using primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from the first field source through direct interviews with the BSI KCP Surabaya Diponegoro. And secondary data was obtained from books, journals, research reports, and websites. Based on the results of research on Digital Product Marketing Strategies for Gold Installment Financing at Bank Syariah Indonesia Sub-Branch Office Surabaya Diponegoro uses several strategies, namely STP (segmentation, targeting, positioning), 4P: Product (product), Price (price), Place (place/distribution channel ) and Promotion (promotion) and SWOT (strengths (strengths), weaknesses (weaknesses), opportunities (opportunities), and threats (threats).

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the effect of life expectancy, wholesale price index, business tendency index, and consumer tendency index on economic growth with zakat, infaq and almsgiving receipts as intervening variables in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with the type of associative research, population and sample in this study is Indonesia's Economic Growth Quarter I 2005 – Second Quarter of 2022 Central Statistics Agency. Based on research on life expectancy, the wholesale price index, the business tendency index, and the consumer tendency index have a significant positive effect on economic growth in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the receipt of zakat, infaq, and alms has a significant positive effect on Indonesia's economic growth. It can be concluded that it can contribute to the government, zakat managers, the general public, both academics and economic actors and the general public so that they understand more about the linkage of life expectancy, wholesale price index, business tendency index, consumer tendency index to economic growth.

Abstract

The resistance character and infection pathogenicity of bacteria to humans is currently increasing, so there is a need for new alternative drugs. The bioactive compounds contained in katang-katang plant are one of the new sources of antibacterials obtained from nature. This study used leaves and flower samples of Katang-katang (Ipomoea pes-caprae (L)R.Br) obtained from the coastal area of Bengkulu City. The purpose of this study was to determine the phytochemical compounds of the leaves and flower extracts of Katang-katang using color reaction test method and to determine the antibacterial activity of the extracts of the leaves and flowers of Katang-katang against the testing pathogenic bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa) at concentrations of 10%,25%,50%,75% using disc diffusion method. The leaves and flowers ethanolic extracts of the Katang - katang were proven contain secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavanoids, saponins, tannins and steroids. Antibacterial effectiveness of the ethanol extract from leaves was classified as moderate at a concentration of 50% with a measured inhibition zone of  6.30 mm and a concentration of 75% with an inhibition zone size 8.13 mm. In contrast, effectiveness of the antibacterial extracted from flower was classified as weak at a concentration of 50% with an inhibition zone 4.50mm and moderate at a concentration of 75% with a measured inhibition zone size of 6.40 mm. The experiment revealed that the leaves and flowers of the Katang-katang have antibacterial potential against P. aeruginosa which could be developed as a medicinal ingredient in the future

Abstract

Lahan bekas pertambangan umumnya memiliki struktur fisik dan kimia yang kurang optimum untuk pertumbuhan tanaman. Bakteri tanah indigenous dapat digunakan untuk membantu proses remediasi lahan bekas pertambangan dengan cara dimanfaaatkan sebagai pupuk hayati. Bakteri penambat nitrogen merupakan salah satu bakteri yang dapat membantu mempercepat remediasi tanah karena memiliki kemampuan memperkaya kandungan nitrogen dalam tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan melakukan karakterisasi bakteri penambat nitrogen dari tanah bekas tambang batu kapur di wilayah Cirebon, Jawa Barat. Isolasi bakteri dilakukan terhadap 13 sampel yang berasal dari area sekitar lahan bekas tambang batu kapur. Hasil isolasi diperoleh 6 isolat bakteri penambat nitrogen hidup bebas dan 2 isolat bakteri penambat nitrogen simbiosis. Seluruh isolat memiliki kemampuan menghasilkan Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) jika ditambahkan 1 mM L-triptofan. Dua isolat dipilih (7B21Y dan 5A22) berdasarkan ciri morfologi sel dan koloni untuk dilakukan pengujian fisiologis. Aktivitas nitrogenase isolat 7B21Y dan 5A22 diukur dengan menggunakan Pengujian Reduksi Asetilen dan diperoleh masing-masing 7.09 ppm dan 5.59 ppm. Isolat 7B21Y kemudian diidentifikasi secara fisiologi menggunakan kit API dan diketahui memiliki kemiripan 99.9% dengan Rhizobium radiobacter.

Abstract

This Adoption is taking other people's children to be their own children. The process of adopting a child must go through a court order. This determination is made by the prospective adoptive parents and the biological parents of the child who is adopted to submit a case for the application for adoption to the Religious Courts. The government issued a policy for the welfare and protection of adopted children so that they have legal force by passing Law Number 3 of 2006 concerning Amendments to Law Number 7 of 1989 Article 49 letter (a) number (20) concerning the Religious Courts. This type of research is field research conducted at the Class IA Jombang Religious Court to obtain primary and secondary data. Primary data is used to obtain information about the judge's considerations in giving a determination of adoption and the court process for determining adoption. Obtained by interviewing Judges who have experience in determining cases of adoption. Secondary data is data related to this research in the form of copies of stipulations and books related to stipulations of child adoption. The results of this study are to discuss cases of stipulation of child adoption in the Jombang Religious Court in receiving, examining, adjudicating and deciding the case so that can generate determinations. The case discussed in this study is Case Number 611/Pdt.P/2022/PA.Jbg at the Jombang Religious Court, in this case the Panel of Judges granted and determined the case for determining the adoption of a child by the applicant by looking at various aspects and existing considerations. The Panel of Judges gave a stipulation in this case through considerations that support the granting of the request, these considerations are due to several reasons and facts that exist and deserve to be accepted and given a stipulation by the Panel of Judges on the basis of positive law and the basis of Islamic law which governs it, so that will strengthen the stipulation handed down by the Panel of Judges during the trial in giving the stipulation of child adoption to the applicant. In the trial for the determination of adoption there are no replic and duplic because in this case there is no dispute or opponent, so the stipulation is only stipulation (declaratoir). Therefore, the Government enacted Law Number 54 of 2007 concerning adoption which also plays a role in outreach to the community through activities: counseling, consultation, counselling, mentoring and training to help the community get information and understand the requirements, procedures and procedures method of adoption.
