Abstract

Accreditation is currently the main focus for all universities. Each institution strives to get superior accreditation. The evaluation and assessment process carried out by BAN-PT is based on data reported by universities to PDDikti. This research aims to assist universities in achieving superior accreditation, by providing recommendations regarding the most influential attributes and clustering to find patterns or data structures from PDDikti. This research uses two feature selection methods AHP and Chi-Square are used separately to identify the most influential attributes. The results of each method were used as input features for the clustering process using the BIRCH algorithm. The purpose of this approach is to evaluate the effect of feature selection from both methods on the quality of clustering results. The evaluation is done using the Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) metric. The results showed that the Lecturer attribute has the highest eigenvalue in AHP which is 0.379, indicating its significant role in accreditation assessment. Meanwhile, the Year of Establishment Decree attribute has the highest Chi-Square value of 290.625 which indicates a strong correlation with accreditation results. In addition, based on the cluster DBI value, it shows that AHP is superior to chi-square, so AHP is considered more effective in this context. With the best Davies Bouldin Index (DBI) value of 0.73603 in cluster 7 with a threshold of 0.05 and a branching factor of 50.

Abstract

Dormancy is one of the obstacles in cultivating zalacca plants which have hard skin and seeds making them difficult to grow. Soaking using growth hormones is an alternative for growing seeds well. This research aims to determine the concentration of Gibberellin and determine the appropriate length of soaking time for Gibberellin (GA3) in germinating zalacca seeds. The research was carried out at the Seed Science and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu in January - February 2023 using a Completely Randomized Design with a factorial pattern. The first factor is the Gibberellin’s concentration which consists of 40, 60, and 80 ppm. The second factor was the length of Gibberellin’s soaking time which consists of 15, 55, and 95 minutes so that 9 treatment combinations were obtained which were repeated three times to obtain 27 experimental units. Each experiment used 20 seeds, therefore 540 zalacca seeds were needed, with 5 samples per experimental unit. The results show that gibberellin concentrations of 60 ppm and 80 ppm and soaking times of 55 and 95 minutes were treatments that provided good growth in germination capacity, germination time, plumule length, radicle length and dry weight of zalacca seed sprouts

Abstract

Makalah ini membahas komponen-komponen penting dalam desain evaluasi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Evaluasi merupakan proses sistematis yang digunakan untuk mengukur pencapaian tujuan belajar, serta memberikan umpan balik yang konstruktif kepada guru, siswa, dan pihak terkait lainnya. Desain evaluasi yang optimal harus mencakup tujuan evaluasi yang jelas, instrumen yang valid dan reliabel, kriteria penilaian yang transparan, serta analisis hasil evaluasi yang komprehensif. Evaluasi formatif dan sumatif dibahas sebagai alat yang berbeda namun saling melengkapi dalam menilai proses dan hasil belajar. Penggunaan rubrik sebagai alat penilaian juga dianalisis untuk meningkatkan objektivitas dan keadilan penilaian. Selain itu, pentingnya pelaporan yang jelas dan tindak lanjut hasil evaluasi ditekankan sebagai langkah penting untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran secara berkelanjutan. Melalui kajian literatur yang mendalam, makalah ini memberikan wawasan tentang praktik evaluasi yang dapat mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis data untuk perbaikan dalam pendidikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi model pembelajaran Problem Posing & Solving (PPS) dengan menggunakan media dakota di SDN 2 Tambun untuk meningkatkan pemahaman numerik siswa kelas I. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena terdapat siswa yang belum mencapai ketuntasan nilai 70 akibat pemahaman yang kurang dalam berhitung, menyebutkan angka, dan menuliskan jawaban. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan instrumen yang divalidasi oleh ahli dan praktisi. Pada siklus pertama, ketuntasan klasikal adalah 66,6% di pertemuan I dan 37,5% di pertemuan II. Namun, pada siklus kedua, ketuntasan klasikal meningkat menjadi 75% di pertemuan I dan 87,5% di pertemuan II. Penggunaan media dakota tradisional (dakon matematika) sebagai alat peraga terbukti efektif dalam membantu siswa menghitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman numerik siswa pada setiap siklus, menjadikannya sebagai landasan yang baik untuk proses kegiatan belajar mengajar di SDN 2 Tambun.

Abstract

Siswa tunagrahita merupakan salah satu golongan siswa berkelainan mental yang mempunyai kemampuan intelektual dibawah rata-rata dan memiliki keterbatasan dalam berfikir. Seperti kemampuan berfikirnya rendah, perhatian dan daya ingatnya lemah, sukar berfikir abstrak, sulit mengendalikan emosi, serta kurang mampu berfikir logis. Keterbatasan yang dimiliki siswa tunagrahita menyebabkan mereka mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan keterampilan dasar, seperti keterampilan kesiapan dalam belajar membedakan huruf, menghitung, ataupun menulis. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini yakni mengetahui pengalaman dan tantang dalam proses pembelajaran siswa tunagrahita dengan emosional yang tinggi. Mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam proses pembelajaran siswa tunagrahita. Dengan hasil penelitian yang di temukan mengetahui pengalaman dan tantangan menghadapi siswa tunagrahita faktor pendukung dan penghambat siswa tunagrahita dalam proses pembelajaran. pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan memanfaatkan instrumen observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi pada hasil analisis data tersebut terdapat peningkatan pada proses pembelajaran siswa tunagrahita di SDN 2 Tambun.

Abstract

Pembelajaran dalam konteks pendidikan formal dapat berlangsung di lingkungan masyarakat dan lingkungan sekolah serta lingkungan keluarga yang berfariasi tingkat pendidikannya, bahkan ada yang tidak mengenyam pendidikan atau buta aksara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses belajar anak di lingkungan keluarga yang buta aksara, faktor penghambat proses belajar anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi dokumentasi dan studi kasus, penelitian berlokasi di Sekolah dasar negeri 3 Lakatan. Teknik pengumpulan data observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan orang tua siswa di SDN 3 Lakatan yang buta aksara cenderung sibuk bekerja untuk mencari nafkah , sehingga perhatian terhadap  proses belajar anak di rumah masih kurang.  Kurangnya dukungan, motivasi dari orang tua, sehingga anak yang bersekolah tidak memperoleh dukungan  fasilitas belajar seperti alat tulis maupun kebutuhan sekolah, sehingga memberi dampak anak sulit beradaptasi, kesulitan dalam menerima pembelajaran  di kelas. Dapat di simpulkan  bahwa anak yang memiliki  orang tua yang buta  tidak mendapatkan perhatian yang khusus dalam belajar di rumah dan kurangnya motivasi dari orang tua.

Abstract

Technology integration is a benefit for students to learn differently to achieve goals and create the most important part of student life today. Google Classroom is a trend of blended learning in higher education that changes the strategy of delivering learning and teaching. The aim of this exploratory study is to investigate whether or not this application can be covered to develop or support learning in a Bachelor level of English Language Education program to facilitate student achievement. The test design was used to analyze student performance and the survey of perceptions of the use of Google Classroom was evaluated statistically using a questionnaire. The results revealed that students who participated in answering questions at the pretest found that there was no significant difference between the control group (45%) and also the experimental group (45.45%). In the posttest results, the two groups obtained an increase within the value of the final examination, however the contribution of 5th-semester students with the utilization of Google Classroom specifically benefited those with higher grades (81.82%) compared to third-semester students (70%). Moreover, the results of the student perceptions survey during this study indicate the use of Google Classroom is observed positively as a technology which will modernize dynamic learning and engagement, stimulate critical thinking and their participation if used suitably for learning functions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing the students' learning difficulties at Muhammadiyah University of Enrekang as well as their problems learning English. This research is qualitative by collecting information from thirty students in the counseling guidance study program. The outcome of this assessment, which employed a descriptive methodology, revealed that speaking skills were the area in which students had the most trouble learning. Students' lack of self-confidence, lack of motivation, lack of speaking ability, difficulty memorizing vocabulary, lack of listening ability, lack of practicing pronunciation, lack of understanding the material, lack of practice partner, learning media, lack of writing ability, lack of reading ability, translating, feeling that learning English is not important, and lack of having a practice partner are the factors that make learning English difficult for students.

Abstract

This research examined the correlation between teacher' personality and students’ motivation in learning English. The research population consisted of all second grade of SMAN 2 Enrekang. A total of 66 students were selected as sample to Stratified random method. The data collection tool was teacher personality and students’ motivation questionnaires. The indicators of teacher personality were adapted from the Minister of National Education Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 (2007) regarding standards of academic qualifications and teacher competencies and the indicators of student motivation were instrumental and integrative motivation. The expert validation was used in this research. The data analysis technique used the product moment correlation formula. The result showed the significance (2-tailed) value of the teacher personality and student motivation variables were at 0.000 < 0,05 and had a degree of relationship 0.832 (very strong correlation). This research has shown that teacher personality was correlated with students' learning motivation.

Abstract

In eastern Indonesia, students face various difficulties in learning English. Especially English translation skills are their weak point. It is important to think about how our students' problems in using English have a certain foundation. This article investigates the problems of Indonesian English learners by analyzing some of the mistakes in their English-Indonesian translations in four aspects. This paper also offers some solutions to the problem. This study follows a descriptive and analytical method. This research was applied to students at the Faculty of Education, Muhammadiyah University of Enrekang, third year students. The student subjects consisted of 23 students studying English at the English Language Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah Enrekang University. The findings of this study emphasize that Indonesian students, especially eastern Indonesia, face problems in translation. Analysis of translation errors from the semantic category is more dominant on errors involving inappropriate word choices and the use of prepositions. In the syntactic errors’ category, the dominant error is the use of tenses. Whereas in pragmatic errors, the errors that often appear are excessive literal translations or ambiguous translations and also missing words or meanings or omission words. Students have insufficient background knowledge about how to translate English into Indonesian or vice versa. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends that translation should be considered when it is taught. Students should be given many topics to translate during their academic year and lecturers should use motivating methods to improve students' skills in translation.
