Abstract

This paper aims to explain that physical education is often associated with physical health and sports skills. However, in the context of Islamic education philosophy, physical education has a deeper dimension. This article explains the position and importance of physical education in the perspective of Islamic education philosophy. Islamic education emphasizes the balance between the physical, spiritual, intellectual and emotional aspects of individual development. Physical education is not only considered as a physical activity, but also as a means to get closer to Allah, appreciate the blessings given by Him, and as a form of gratitude for the existence of a healthy and strong body. In addition, physical education is also a form of practicing discipline, patience, and cooperation in accordance with the values taught in Islam. Through this approach, physical education can be an integral part of a comprehensive Islamic education system, which aims to develop a balanced individual in both physical, spiritual and social aspects.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) in two Islamic integrated elementary schools SDIT Madani and SDIT Rabbani in Aceh Tenggara, Indonesia. It aims to analyze the planning, execution, and contextual factors that support or hinder the sustainability of GLS in both institutions. Employing a qualitative multi-site case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal distinct literacy models: SDIT Madani incorporates literacy within tahfizh-based routines and promotes structured individual reading, while SDIT Rabbani adopts a thematic, community-centered literacy approach conducted in outdoor settings. Supporting factors include leadership commitment, teacher engagement, and stakeholder collaboration, whereas key barriers involve limited instructional time, insufficient resources, and lack of diverse reading materials. This study contributes to the discourse on localized literacy models in faith-based schools and recommends the development of school-based literacy forums, ongoing professional development for teachers, systematic parental engagement, and the integration of digital literacy tools to enhance program impact and sustainability.

Abstract

Education serves as the fundamental pillar in shaping children’s character and spirituality, with parents playing a central role in Islamic teachings. The Qur’an provides clear guidance on the importance of education grounded in monotheism (tauhid), morality, and knowledge, as reflected in Q.S. An-Nisa’ [4]: 9, Q.S. Luqman [31]: 13–19, and Q.S. At-Tahrim [66]: 6. This study aims to analyze the concept of parental responsibility in Islamic education based on these three verses and to explore their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges in family-based education. The research employs a qualitative method using library research and a thematic (maudhu’i) interpretation approach to extract both thematic and contextual meanings from the selected verses. The findings reveal that the Qur’an places parents as the primary and foremost educators, responsible for nurturing their children’s faith, morals, and life skills as provisions for both this world and the hereafter. In the modern context, this role faces serious challenges, including work-related busyness, secular cultural influences, and value disruption due to digital media. The study concludes that family-based education rooted in the Qur’an remains highly relevant and essential as a moral safeguard for children amid an era of rapid change. The implementation of Qur’anic education values centered on monotheism, moral guidance, and parental role modeling is key to forming a generation of Muslims who are faithful, intelligent, and morally upright.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of educators in producing religious leaders in Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan through the application of curriculum, learning strategies, and supporting factors, inhibitions, and solutions to overcome the obstacles faced. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, which is descriptive and analytical. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and document studies. The data sources in this study are primary data sources and secondary data, obtained from Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan. The results of the study show that in Al-Qismul Aly Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan, the Diniyah curriculum (Yellow Book) is implemented as a characteristic of madrasas and the National curriculum. The learning strategy used by educators is a combination of classic methods such as bandongan, sorogan, and lectures, with modern methods to adapt to the times. The results of the study also show that the alumni of Al-Qismul Aly Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan, have good science and morals. Take part as an ustad, educator, and contribute to the community. The supporting factors for the success in implementing the Diniyah curriculum are the role of the head of the madrasah, competent educators in the field of the Yellow Book, a structured curriculum, and a supportive environment. The obstacles faced are the differences in the academic background of students and the limited understanding of Nahwu Shorof. As a solution, supporting programs such as the Yellow Book Daurah, ability selection for new students, and Qira'atul Kutub extracurricular activities are carried out to increase students' understanding of the yellow book.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Faith and Piety (IMTAQ) in fostering minority Muslim communities in Asahan Regency, with a focus on program planning, implementation, and evaluation. The approach used is qualitative, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies. Informants include IMTAQ managers, speakers, community members, and community leaders. Data is analyzed inductively to understand the dynamics of development within the context of minority communities. The research findings indicate that IMTAQ planning is strategic and inclusive, involving various stakeholders, including religious leaders and local government officials. The programs designed include spiritual strengthening through Quranic reading activities, regular religious study sessions, and economic empowerment initiatives such as sharia-based entrepreneurship training. Program implementation is structured, sustainable, and supported by active community participation. Evaluations indicate that IMTAQ has had a positive impact on improving the quality of faith, piety, and social and moral awareness of the Muslim minority community in the region. The uniqueness of this research lies in IMTAQ’s holistic approach in integrating spiritual guidance with social and economic aspects within the minority Muslim community. These findings contribute to the development of a contextual and inclusive model of religious guidance and have practical implications for application in areas with similar conditions.

Abstract

This research aims to review the Definition of the Wahdatul ulum Paradigm with a Transdisciplinary Approach. The separation between religious knowledge and general science has long occurred. Some Muslim communities still believe that religion and science cannot be combined together because they both have their own domains. With a transdisciplinary approach, Wahdatul `Ulum is very suitable in the current uncertain era where advances in digital technology are the main factor. Research is qualitative research on library studies (library research), collecting data by looking for sources such as books, journals and previous research. Transdisciplinarity is reflection, integration and methods that go beyond scientific principles with the aim of finding solutions to social problems, which are obtained from combining related sciences in a way that differentiates and integrates knowledge from various theories. A transdisciplinary approach implies full interaction between, between, and outside disciplines from a perspective or based on real-life problems. The results of this research conclude that all UINs in Indonesia must have an attitude of adapting to all kinds of changes, especially North Sumatra UIN. As an Islamic-based university, it follows the concept of the Wahdatul Ulum paradigm through an interdisciplinary approach, referring to the values contained in various articles about the implementation of education, research and public works at the Islamic Religious University of North Sumatra.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility and effectiveness of a digital-based Basic Training module (Latihan Kader I) to support the regeneration process of the Langkat Branch of HMI. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires, pre- and post-tests, and documentation, then analysed descriptively using paired t-statistical tests. The validation results showed that the module met the "outstanding" category, with scores of 92.5% (subject matter experts), 90% (design experts), 93.3%–94.2% (instructors), and 90.5%–95.6% (participants). Effectiveness testing on 20 participants showed a significant increase in the average score from 61.75 (pre-test) to 87.75 (post-test), t(19) = 17.09, p < 0.000001, with Cohen's d = 3.82 (huge effect). The module's effectiveness was supported by applying the principles of the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, which integrates text, visuals, and interactive exercises to reduce cognitive load and enhance retention. Despite the positive findings, limitations of the study include the absence of a control group, small sample size, potential novelty effect, and limited generalizability. This module has the potential for broader adoption with replication in different contexts, implementing follow-up tests, and measuring skills and attitudes. Further research is recommended to identify the most influential components of the module, assess user acceptance through TAM or UTAUT, and evaluate the impact on organisational performance.
