Abstract

This research aimed to describe the characteristics of the transformational activities of Indonesian students in resolving problems based on cognitive conflict. The research employed a phenomenological approach with five students as subjects. The research instruments included tests and interview guidelines, and the analysis was conducted using the constant comparative method. Change-based activities are a good way to solve cognitive conflict issues, including full rule-based unexpected results, full rule-based matching problem parts, incomplete rule-based unexpected results, and incomplete rule-based matching problem parts. Exploring these characteristics serves as a foundation for instructors to enhance the quality of instructional design. Practically, a profound understanding of these characteristics can provide a solid foundation for educators to enhance their instructional design quality. By exploring and comprehending how students address cognitive conflict, instructors can design more effective learning experiences that align with the student's needs.

Abstract

The increasing volume of waste in Cimahi City has become an environmental and socio-economic challenge that demands sustainable and community-based management. This community service project aims to strengthen environmental awareness and economic empowerment through the implementation of a Structured Waste Management Monitoring System based on the Separate Collection Scheme (SKP) and the 4R principles (Replace, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in RW 07, Melong Village. The program uses a participatory approach that combines field surveys, workshops, and mentoring involving local residents, academics, and government representatives. Activities began with a situation analysis and coordination with the Melong Village Government, followed by educational sessions and practical demonstrations on waste sorting, recycling, and monitoring practices. Pre-test and post-test assessments showed a significant increase in residents' understanding of waste classification, monitoring mechanisms, and sustainable waste management practices. The implementation of the SKP model successfully drove behavioral change, fostered collective responsibility, and reduced dependence on municipal waste services. Furthermore, this initiative generated socio-economic benefits by motivating residents to develop recycling-based entrepreneurship such as waste banks, composting, and creative recycled products. The research findings demonstrate that integrated environmental education and participatory monitoring can effectively drive community transformation toward sustainability. Collaboration between academics, local government, and the community has resulted in a replicable model for structured, community-based waste management that contributes to environmental protection and economic resilience. In conclusion, this program not only addresses the local waste crisis but also lays the foundation for a circular economy framework at the village level, supporting Cimahi City's vision for a clean, resilient, and sustainable urban ecosystem. Keywords: Community empowerment, separate collection scheme, waste management, circular economy, Cimahi City

Abstract

Infrastructure development in Indonesia is growing rapidly, necessitating economical and environmentally friendly building materials. Concrete is a key construction material, but the cement-making process produces significant carbon emissions. To reduce environmental impacts, one method is to use industrial waste, such as rock ash, as a substitute for sand in concrete mixes. This study aimed to examine the effect of rock ash use on the compressive strength of K-225 quality concrete after 28 days. Five mixtures were tested with ratios of rock ash ranging from 0% to 100% replacing sand. The results showed that none of the mixtures achieved the desired compressive strength of 225 kg/cm². However, the mixture with 50% rock ash provided the best compressive strength of 194.385 kg/cm² with the lowest standard deviation (8.648 kg/cm²), indicating consistent quality. The decrease in compressive strength at higher rock ash levels was due to the presence of fine particles and silt exceeding the maximum limit. The study concluded that fly ash can be used as a sand substitute up to 50% of the time, provided its quality meets technical standards. The use of fly ash can help save costs, conserve natural resources, and support sustainable development.

Abstract

The situation of anarchism in Indonesia is a result of a conflict between state law and living law and is due to social, economic, and political inequality. This study seeks to understand anarchism, not only as a criminal act, but as a socio-legal condition consisting of a structural complaint and a crisis of legal legitimacy. To understand how state law, living law, and social order interconnect to cause the oppressed to act anarchistically, the study uses empirical legal research along with a socio-legal approach and legal literature research. The results of the study show social inequality coupled with arbitrary law enforcement results in a loss of legal legitimacy which arguably weakens the law and transforms it into a tool of oppression rather than a tool of justice. Thus, people’s resistance to structural injustices is expressed in the form of legal defiance. An enhanced model of legal responsiveness is warranted which consists of participative regulatory adjustments, the integration of restorative justice, the broadening of justice system gates, oversight of economic policy, and the digital revolution. The system change, to comply with the demands of justice and social order, places the consolidation of a responsive legal system, and not a repressive one, as a necessity of legal and socio-political order.
