Abstract

This policy paper evaluates the implementation of the Keluarga Sakinah (Harmonious Family) program, which has not yet optimally achieved its goals due to various policy problems. The main issue identified is the lack of a uniform implementation standard, exacerbated by a weak monitoring and accountability mechanism. This situation stems from the absence of a comprehensive guideline, a standardized curriculum, and clear performance indicators. Methodologically, this study uses a qualitative policy analysis approach, adapting the stages of analysis from William N. Dunn's model. Secondary data from policy documents, academic publications, and government reports were used to identify the problems, analyze their root causes, and evaluate alternative solutions. A USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) analysis was applied to prioritize the issues, while Dunn's alternative scoring was used to select the best solution. The findings indicate that standardizing the curriculum and guidance modules is the most effective alternative. Therefore, it is recommended that the Minister of Religious Affairs issue a new Ministerial Regulation to govern standardization, facilitator qualifications, and key performance indicators (KPIs). The innovation in this recommendation lies in the proposal to integrate an impact-based information management system to facilitate more adaptive and evidence-based supervision.

Abstract

Learning of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in elementary schools is often conducted through conventional instruction that mainly emphasizes theoretical explanations. As a result, the connection between the concepts taught and students’ real-life experiences is not always clearly established, which can limit students’ conceptual understanding and engagement in the learning process. Therefore, an instructional approach that links learning materials with authentic contexts is needed. This study aims to describe the implementation of contextual-based IPAS learning in upper elementary classes and to examine its influence on students’ learning engagement and conceptual understanding. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method conducted in an upper-grade class of a public elementary school. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and several students, and documentation of instructional materials. The collected data were analyzed using an interactive analysis technique consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that contextual-based IPAS learning was implemented by connecting learning content with students’ daily experiences, utilizing the surrounding environment as a learning resource, and engaging students in discussion and problem-solving activities. This approach encouraged more active participation, fostered critical thinking, and supported students in developing a deeper and more meaningful understanding of IPAS concepts that can be applied in everyday life.

Abstract

Upaya percepatan penurunan angka stunting di Desa Pakacangan saat ini masih terbentur oleh berbagai tantangan yang kompleks. Rendahnya tingkat pendidikan formal di kalangan masyarakat menjadi salah satu hambatan utama, karena berimplikasi pada terbatasnya wawasan orang tua mengenai pentingnya asupan gizi seimbang bagi tumbuh kembang anak. Kondisi ini diperparah oleh keterbatasan ekonomi keluarga yang menyulitkan pemenuhan nutrisi berkualitas secara konsisten. Selain faktor internal keluarga, aspek lingkungan seperti sanitasi yang kurang memadai turut memperbesar risiko infeksi pada anak, yang secara tidak langsung memperlambat efektivitas program pencegahan stunting di wilayah tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi sejauh mana partisipasi riil masyarakat dalam program penanggulangan stunting beserta faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakanginya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, peneliti menggali data melalui observasi lapangan, studi dokumentasi, serta wawancara mendalam terhadap 13 informan yang dipilih melalui teknik snowball sampling. Metode ini memungkinkan peneliti untuk mendapatkan informasi yang lebih mengakar mengenai dinamika sosial yang terjadi di Desa Pakacangan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelibatan masyarakat dalam penanganan stunting belum berjalan optimal secara menyeluruh. Meskipun inisiatif perangkat desa dalam hal sosialisasi, penciptaan peluang, dan alokasi pendanaan sudah menunjukkan progres yang positif, namun kontribusi aktif warga dalam memberikan ide, saran, maupun umpan balik masih tergolong minim. Kerja sama dan dukungan sosial di tingkat akar rumput juga masih perlu diperkuat. Walaupun kesadaran secara individu mulai tumbuh, hambatan seperti rendahnya tingkat kehadiran dalam kegiatan desa dan lemahnya jejaring dukungan sosial menjadi kendala utama. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan langkah strategis untuk mendorong masyarakat agar lebih proaktif dan saling bahu-membahu dalam mendukung keberhasilan program ini.

Abstract

The achievement of the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), regarding quality education, in Indonesia is still faced with disparities in accessibility, especially for marginalized groups who are difficult to reach by the formal system. This study focuses on an in-depth analysis of the potential and challenges of the People's School Program as a grassroots initiative to bridge this educational gap. Using a descriptive qualitative approach that integrates literature studies and field observations, the study evaluates the program's effectiveness in providing inclusive education services. The study findings indicate that People's Schools have significant potential to reduce financial barriers and increase independent learning participation by 25%, primarily driven by strong parental support. However, the sustainability of this program is still hampered by funding uncertainty, lack of curriculum standardization, and the qualifications of volunteer teachers who have not been certified. The main conclusion confirms that People's Schools function as a strategic complement to formal education, which requires strengthening legitimacy through cross-sector collaboration between the government and the private sector. In addition, the integration of digital learning technology is recommended as an adaptive solution to overcome geographical barriers and increase graduate competitiveness to achieve equitable and inclusive national education. ABSTRAK Pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) poin keempat mengenai pendidikan berkualitas di Indonesia masih dihadapkan pada disparitas aksesibilitas, khususnya bagi kelompok masyarakat marginal yang sulit terjangkau sistem formal. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis mendalam mengenai potensi dan tantangan Program Sekolah Rakyat sebagai inisiatif akar rumput dalam menjembatani kesenjangan pendidikan tersebut. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang mengintegrasikan studi pustaka dan observasi lapangan, penelitian mengevaluasi efektivitas program dalam memberikan layanan pendidikan inklusif. Temuan studi menunjukkan bahwa Sekolah Rakyat memiliki potensi signifikan dalam mereduksi hambatan finansial dan meningkatkan partisipasi belajar mandiri sebesar 25%, terutama didorong oleh dukungan kuat dari orang tua. Namun, keberlanjutan program ini masih terkendala oleh ketidakpastian pendanaan, minimnya standarisasi kurikulum, serta kualifikasi tenaga pengajar sukarela yang belum tersertifikasi. Simpulan utama menegaskan bahwa Sekolah Rakyat berfungsi sebagai komplemen strategis bagi pendidikan formal yang memerlukan penguatan legitimasi melalui kolaborasi lintas sektor antara pemerintah dan swasta. Selain itu, integrasi teknologi pembelajaran digital direkomendasikan sebagai solusi adaptif untuk mengatasi hambatan geografis dan meningkatkan daya saing lulusan demi tercapainya pemerataan pendidikan nasional yang inklusif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakterisasi komposisi kimia sisik ikan kakatua (Scarus sp.) serta mengevaluasi potensinya sebagai sumber gelatin halal. Analisis proksimat dilakukan untuk menentukan kadar air, abu, protein, dan lemak. Proses ekstraksi meliputi pretreatment alkali menggunakan NaOH 0,05 M, dilanjutkan dengan proses pengembangan (swelling) menggunakan asam asetat 0,1%. Ekstraksi gelatin dilakukan dalam water bath pada suhu 60°C selama 12 jam, kemudian filtrat disaring dan dikeringkan hingga diperoleh gelatin dalam bentuk lembaran. Karakteristik fisikokimia yang dianalisis meliputi rendemen, pH, viskositas, dan kekuatan gel, sedangkan struktur protein dianalisis menggunakan Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Hasil analisis proksimat menunjukkan kadar air 38,55±2,38%, abu 20,74±0,44%, protein 17,15±0,99%, dan lemak 0,60±0,02%, yang menunjukkan potensi sisik sebagai sumber kolagen. Rendemen gelatin yang dihasilkan sebesar 9,47±0,72%. Nilai kekuatan gel sebesar 187,1±35,49 g telah memenuhi standar Indonesian National Standard (SNI) dan Gelatin Manufacturers Institute of America (GMIA). Nilai pH sebesar 7,98±0,0021 dan viskositas sebesar 12±1 cP belum memenuhi standar yang direkomendasikan. Analisis FTIR menunjukkan pita serapan amida A, B, I, II, dan III yang mengindikasikan konversi kolagen menjadi gelatin. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sisik ikan kakatua berpotensi sebagai sumber alternatif gelatin halal, meskipun diperlukan optimasi proses untuk meningkatkan kualitas fisikokimia gelatin.

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between students’ responses to English teachers’ instructional methods and their motivation to learn English. Recognizing the significance of motivation in language teaching, the study aims to explore how different teaching methods impact both student engagement and intrinsic motivation. Using a quantitative correlational research design, data were collected from 33 eighth-grade students at MTs Muallimat NWDI Pancor in the 2024-2025 academic year. The analysis reveals a strong positive correlation between students’ responses to teaching methods and their learning motivation (r = 0.642, p < 0.01) as well as between teaching methods and student motivation (r = 0.701, p < 0.01). These findings suggest that teaching methods significantly influence both student engagement and motivation; efficient, student-centered methods lead to greater student involvement in the learning process and higher motivation levels. The study recommends that schools prioritize continuous professional development for teachers, focusing on effective, motivational teaching strategies. This would foster an engaging, supportive learning environment, enhancing students’ ability to succeed in language learning. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the interaction between pedagogy and student psychology, providing valuable insight for both educational practitioners and policymakers.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin secretion and insulin resistance. The increasing prevalence of Type 2 DM is influenced by unhealthy lifestyles, lack of physical activity, and changes in people's dietary patterns. One effort to control blood sugar levels is the use of local herbal plants as complementary therapy. This study aims to analyze the effect of providing herbal drinks based on local plants on glycemic control in patients with Type 2 DM in Tanah Merah Village, Badar District, Southeast Aceh Regency. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design through a one-group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 60 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by examining blood glucose levels before and after administering the herbal drink based on local plants using a glucometer. Data analysis used a paired t-test with a significance level of 0.05.α= 0.05. The results of the study showed that the average blood glucose level before giving herbal drinks was 238.6 mg/dL and after the intervention decreased to 187.3 mg/dL. The results of the statistical test obtained a p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that there was a significant effect of giving local plant-based herbal drinks on glycemic control in Type 2 DM patients. A decrease in blood glucose levels of 51.3 mg/dL indicates that local plant-based herbal drinks have the potential to help control blood sugar levels in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. The results of this study are expected to be a source of information for the public and health workers regarding the use of local herbal plants as complementary therapy in controlling Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract

This study addresses the lack of integration of character values in teaching materials for the Learning Media course in Islamic Religious Education, the limited availability of character-based resources, and the less-than-optimal holistic learning experience for prospective educators. The purpose of the research is to develop teaching materials based on character values for this course. The study applies a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, involving third-semester students of Islamic Religious Education at Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Data collection techniques include expert validation, observation, and statistical analysis using a t-test and N-Gain. The results indicate that the developed teaching materials are effective. The t-test analysis yields a t-value of 6.01, which exceeds the t-table value of 1.69 at the 0.05 significance level, indicating that the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This confirms a significant difference in student learning outcomes before and after using the developed materials. Furthermore, the N-Gain score of 0.88 is categorized as high, indicating a strong improvement in learning achievement. Student learning activities featured active participation, task completion, and group discussions, while lecturers primarily served as facilitators and explainers of material. In conclusion, the development of character-based teaching materials significantly improves student learning outcomes and is effective. This research is significant for enhancing educational quality, strengthening student character, and providing an innovative teaching material model that can be adapted to other higher education courses in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study is motivated by students who still have difficulty in understanding reading in depth. This is indicated by the low results of students' reading evaluation, both in the aspects of answering questions, finding the main idea, and concluding the content of the text. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between GLS and reading comprehension skills. This research method is a correlational approach. With the sample choosing total sampling of 39 students, with data collection techniques in the form of tests and questionnaires. The data processing and analysis techniques used statistical prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing (correlation). As for the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the research results of the school literacy movement have an average of 74.40 and a percentage of 74.4% and the average reading comprehension ability of students has an average of 56.41 and a percentage of 56.4% with a very good category. Based on the results of statistical analysis, there is a positive and significant relationship between the school literacy movement assisted by the canva application and the reading comprehension skills of grade V students of SDN 2 Sukarame, Bayongbong District. The direction of the positive relationship is indicated by the value of the correlation coefficient of 0.511 is positive. There is a significant relationship indicated by the correlation coefficient of r count 0.511 and r table 0.172 (r count> r table). This means that every time there is an increase in the quality of the school literacy movement assisted by the canva application, it will be followed by an increase in the quality of the school literacy movement assisted by the canva application.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami bacaan secara mendalam. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan rendahnya hasil evaluasi membaca siswa, baik dalam aspek menjawab pertanyaan, menemukan gagasan utama, maupun menyimpulkan isi teks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan GLS dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Metode penelitian ini berupa pendekatan korelasional. Dengan sampel memilih total sampling yaitu sebanyak 39 siswa, dengan Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes dan angket. Adapun teknik pengolahan dan analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat statistic, dan uji hipotesis (korelasional). Adapun hasil analisis statistik deskriptif diperoleh hasil penelitian gerakan literasi sekolah memiliki rata-rata 74,40 dan presentase 74,4% dan rata-rata kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa memiliki rata-rata 56,41 dan presentase 56,4% dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis satistik, terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara gerakan literasi sekolah berbantu aplikasi canva dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN 2 Sukarame Kecamatan Bayongbong. Arah hubungan positif ditunjukan dengan nilai dari koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,511 adalah positif. Ada hubungan yang signifikan ditunjukan dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar r hitung 0,511 dan r tabel 0,172 (r hitung > r tabel). Ini artinya setiap kali adanya kenaikan pada kualitas gerakan literasi sekolah berbantu aplikasi canva maka akan diikuti dengan kenaikan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Oleh karena itu, hendaknya semua pihak bekerja sama memfasilitasi dan mendukung upaya peningkatan gerakan literasi sekolah ini dalam hal penyediaan sumber daya yang memadai seperti memperbaiki infrastruktur sekolah dan menyediakan lebih banyak buku serta materi bacaan yang bervariasi.

Abstract

Pantun merupakan salah satu pembelajaran sastra yang mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai karakter yang terdapat dalam tiga puluh lima pantun nasihat dan kesesuaian nilai-nilai karakter dalam pantun nasihat pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Obyek penelitian yang dianalisis adalah tiga puluh lima pantun nasihat dan objek dalam penelitian adalah nilai-nilai karakter dalam 35 pantun nasihat. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, kartu data, dan wawancara. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari tiga puluh lima pantun nasihat yang djadikan objek penelitian mengandung tujuh belas nilai-nilai karakter, yaitu nilai-nilai religius, jujur, disiplin, kerja keras, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/ komunikatif, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Nilai-nilai karakter dalam pantun nasihat tersebut sesuai dengan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar yaitu mewarisi nilai luhur dan mengkreasikan puisi rakyat kurikulum 2013. Oleh karena itu, nilai-nilai karakter dalam pantun nasihat dapat dijadikan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar.
