Abstract

Science learning in Indonesia has not succeeded in increasing scientific literacy skills, as indicated by the decreasing international ranking from year to year. One of the efforts made to improve scientific literacy is using Android-based learning media. This study aims to analyze the need for the development of instructional media to improve students' scientific literacy at MTs Al Uswah Bergas Semarang Regency. This type of research is a descriptive study that is to describes the current situation. The data instruments used were interviews, observation, and questionnaires. The results of the research on the analysis of the needs for learning media based on android showed that 38% of the 80 students, namely 30 students agreed to develop Android-based learning media, while 29% of the students showed disagreement, 21% strongly agreed, and 12% strongly disagreed. There are aspects of literacy then students including; literacy as mastery of science as knowledge was 63%, 66% as a way of thinking, 62% of scientific literacy as a way of learning, 62% of the aspects of mastery of the competence of the interaction of science, technology, and society. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the development of Android-based mobile learning media to improve students' scientific literacy

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah salah satu komponen kecakapan hidup yang merupakan paradigma pendidikan abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil keterampilan berpikir  kritis siswa SMP pada materi Tekanan Zat. Desain penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian diambil dengan metode cluster random sampling, yaitu sebanyak 23 siswa kelas VIII-B SMP Al Madina Semarang tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar soal yang berisi 10 pertanyaan tingkat tinggi (tingkat kognitif C4-C6) yang berupa pilihan ganda dengan lima aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa secara keseluruhan yaitu sangat tinggi 0%; tinggi 38%; sedang 45%, rendah 17%; dan sangat rendah 0%. Pada aspek memberikan penjelasan sederhana sebesar 74%, membangun keterampilan dasar 63%, menyimpulkan 37%, memberikan penjelasan lanjut 52%, serta mengatur strategi dan taktik 54%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah profil keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa secara keseluruhan pada materi Tekanan Zat termasuk kategori sedang.

Abstract

The heat and displacement is one of the material in science learning taught at the junior high school level. This study aims to describe the profile of the conceptual understanding of Class VIII junior high school students on matter of heat and displacement. The design of this study is a descriptive study concerning the understanding of the concept of junior high school students in material heat and displacement with a quantitative approach. The subjects in this study were 27 students of class VIII D Kesatrian 1 Semarang junior high school. The sampling technique uses probability sampling techniques with simple random sampling technique. The data collection method used is a test instrument in the form of a two-level multiple choice question that has been validated by experts. The results of this study found that understanding the heat concept and its displacement of 7% in the criteria were very low, as much as 26% in the low category, 48% in the medium category, 15% in the high category, and by 1% the criteria were very high. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the percentage of understanding of the concept of heat material and its displacement is the largest in the medium category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan : (1) tingkat berpikir kritis peserta didik, (2) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi proses berpikir kritis peserta didik. Desain penelitian menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 30 peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Selomerto Kabupaten Wonosobo. Subyek dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik probability sampling dengan teknik proportionale stratified random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Instrumen berupa soal pilihan ganda dan pedoman wawancara.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) tingkat berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP Negeri 2 Selomerto pada kategori sedang. Hal ini tampak dari indikator kemampuan memberikan penjelasan sederhana diperoleh 83%, kemampuan membangun keterampilan dasar sebesar 73%, kemampuan menyimpulkan sebesar 68%, kemampuan memberikan penjelasan lebih lanjut sebesar 47% dan kemampuan mengatur strategi sebesar 40%. (2) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi proses berpikir kritis peserta didik meliputi (a) Peserta didik memiliki persepsi yang bias terhadap soal, (b) Peserta didik kurang menguasai konsep, (c) Peserta didik kurang teliti dalam menyelesaikan soal yang diberikan

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the impact of learning model of Auditory, Intellectual, Repatition (AIR) on the interest of learning science subjects in class III SDN 02 Banjaran. The background of this study was conducted to see whether there is an impact and change of interest in students' learning science subjects in class III SDN 02 Banjaran when the teacher uses the model of learning Auditory, Intellektualy, Repatition (AIR). The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research method used is survey method, the technique used is interview and observation. Result of research based on interview and observation to teacher and student showed the impact of change of interest in science subject matter of weather material and its influence to class III student of SDN 02 Banjaran when the teacher in learning using learning model of Auditory, Intellektualy, Repatition (AIR).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality figures of 21st century-based multi-representation assessments on linear motion material. Type of this research is Research Development (RD). Data were analyzed using an assessment validity test by an expert and empirical assessment quality test to obtain quality figures in the form of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discrimination power. The results of the preliminary field testing analysis showed 58.33% items were declared valid and 41.67% items were declared invalid. Test items have very high reliability with a value of 0.877. The proportion of the level of difficulty is not ideal, that is equal to 58.33% of questions categorized as difficult and 41.67% of questions categorized as sufficient. The discrimination power of the questions is 8.34% of the questions in a good category, 22.22% are sufficient, 58.33% are bad, and 11.11% are very bad. The result of main field testing, 69.44% items were declared valid and 30.56% items were declared invalid. Test items have high reliability with a value of 0.879. The proportion of the level of difficulty obtained in the main field testing is also not ideal, which is 56% of the difficult category and 44% of the sufficient category. The discrimination power consist of 32% good, 40% were sufficient, and 28% were poor.

Abstract

The aims of this study was to test the effectiveness of the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring (REACT) learning model in improving students' understanding of physics concepts. This research used Action Research with the research subjects of class X MIPA 4 SMA N 2 Batang. Data collection techniques using tests. The results of the research in cycle I showed the number of students who got a score of ≥ 60 was 4 students and cycle II was 14 students. These results indicate that the REACT learning model can improve students' understanding of physics concepts. The learning process that is carried out is always connected with events that occur in real life so that students understand the concept more deeply. The REACT learning model can be applied to other physics materials so that students are more actively involved in learning and improve students' understanding of physics concepts.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an android-based game learning media by applying the steps of the scientific method. Methods: UsingThe development research was adapted the RnD method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection technique was a validation questionnaire of media experts, linguists, materials, teacher, and student responses. Findings: The validation results of media, language, and material experts were 92.00, 92.00, and 96.00%, respectively, with very feasible criteria. Student response questionnaires in the small and large group trials were 96.00, 94.00, and 89.70%, respectively, with very achievable benchmarks. The teacher's response questionnaire also got more than 80.00%, which was very decent. Conclusion: The result application of the 'Curious Scientist' game learning media is interesting for students. Indirectly, students have learned to use the scientific method approach and apply scientific thinking skills utilizing the learning media game' Curious Scientist.’

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan kreativitas keterampilan proses sains (KPS) peserta didik kelas X pada materi ekosistem dan pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini merupakan quasi experiment dengan desain nonequivalent (pretest-posttest) control group design Penelitian dilaksanakan pada peserta didik kelas X SMA N 2 Banguntapan, Bantul pada Februari-Mei 2015. Populasi yang digunakan berupa infinite population dengan sampel sebanyak 41 peserta didik yang terbagi dalam dua kelas yaitu kelas X1 (kelas eksperimen) dan kelas X3 (kelas control). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan observasi dengan instrument berupa tes tertulis non objektif dan lembar observasi. Tes tertulis non objektif digunakan untuk menghimpun data kreativitas keterampilan dasar (basic skills) dan keterampilan menginvestigasi (investigative skills). Lembar observasi digunakan sebagai pedoman obeservasi keterlaksanaan sintaks model PBL. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis covariat (ANCOVA) dengan kovariat berupa pretest kreativitas dalam KPS pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PBL berpengaruh sangat signifikan dalam meningkatkan kreativitas keterampilan dasar (basic skills) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 (0,00) dan keterampilan menginvestigasi (investigative skills) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 (0,00). Simpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa model PBL berpengaruh sangat signifikan dalam meningkatkan kreativitas keterampilan proses sains (KPS) pada materi ekosistem dan pencemaran lingkungan peserta didik kelas X yang memiliki karakteristik yang sama dengan kelas X SMA N 2 Banguntapan, Bantul.

Abstract

Metode mind mapping dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya ingat, hasil belajar, dan perhatian siswa mata pelajaran fisika materi listrik dinamis kelas IX MTs Al Futuhiyyah Bumirejo, Wonosobo. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas IX Al Haitsam (A) berjumlah 25 siswa dengan  nilai mata pelajaran fisika rata-rata di bawah KKM. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) sebanyak 2 siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi yang mengadopsi model Kurt Lewin. Daya ingat siswa dapat diketahui dengan membuat mind mapping, hasil belajar diperoleh dengan tes uraian, dan perhatian belajar didapatkan dari observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) penggunaan metode mind mapping dapat meningkatkan daya ingat siswa kelas IX MTs Al Futuhiyyah dari 38% menjadi 68%, 2) penggunaan metode mind mapping dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IX MTs Al Futuhiyyah dengan siswa yang mecapai KKM dari 36% menjadi 56%, 3) penggunaan metode mind mapping dapat memfokuskan perhatian dalam proses belajar siswa kelas IX MTs Al Futuhiyyah dengan persentase siswa 72%. AbstractMind Mapping method in this research purposed to improve memory, learning result, and students attention to study physics with dynamic electricity subject 9th grade student of MTs Al Futuhiyyah Bumirejo, Wonosobo. Sample in this research are 9th grade of Al Haitsam (A) amount 25 students with physics subject score under KKM. The research using Action Research (PTK) as much as two Cycles. Each cycle based on planning step, acting, observing, and reflecting it refers to Kurt Lewin model. The students memory are able to be known by mind mapping, The study result are obtained by description test, and The study attention are obtained from observation. The result of the study indicated that: 1) the use of mind mapping method could improve memory of the 9th grade student MTs Al Futuhiyyah from 38% became 68%, 2) the use of mind mapping method could improve the result learning of 9th grade student of MTs Al Futuhiyyah. It can be seen from the student who surpassed KKM from 36% became 56%, 3) the use of mind mapping method is appropriate to get students attention in teaching and learning process with percentage 72% .
