Abstract

Abstract: Measuring the Science Process Skill Creativity in the Context of Assessment for Learning. This study aims to measure the science process skill creativity in Biology in Senior High Schools (SHSs), in terms of the basic skills, process skills, and investigative skills and use them in the context of assessment for learning. The study used the learning continuum as the abstract continuum and the instruments of the divergent process science skills in Biology in SHSs developed by Bambang Subali in 2009. Two of the six instrument sets were modified and administered to 1095 students. The results show that in the process science skill creativity, the skill in data measurement is the most difficult skill among the basic skills while the observation skill is the easiest. The skill in making inferences is the most difficult skill among the process skills while the skill in making predictions is the easiest. The most difficult skill in the investigative skills is the skill in planning investigation, followed by those in reporting an investigation and making an investigation. Abstract

This study was aimed at developing two sets of kinematics experiment namely free fall motion and microcontroller based projectil motion. This study used an R D research design that involves descriptive and evaluative methods. This research was conducted at the Physics Laboratory of Semarang State University and the Science Laboratory Semarang. The stages of this research included design design, tool making, tool validity testing, data retrieval and data processing. Validity test was done to validate the feasibility of the tool by an expert in physics and tested to physics students. A limited scale test and a large scale test were also be done in this study.These tests were conducted to determine the level of readability of the tool and the level of appropriateness of the equipment. This study produced a microcontroller-based experimental set that was feasible for free fall motion and projectile motion experiments. Time measurement results by the kinematics experiment set for free fall motion and projectile motion obtained a better level of accuracy than the previous tool that is equal to 98.30% and has an accuracy level of 99.99%.

Abstract

Abstrak. Gelombang cahaya yang mengalami pelenturan ketika melewati sebuah celah sempit disebut dengan fenomena difraksi. Fenomena difraksi dapat dilihat dengan melakukan eksperimen sederhana menggunakan bahan alam. Penelitian ini menggunakan kisi berbahan daun sereh (Cymbopogon citratus) dan tanaman lidah mertua (Sansevieria trifasciata) dengan menggunakan laser merah (λ = 632,8 nm) dengan beberapa variasi jarak kisi terhadap layar. Pola difraksi dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak Tracker. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kisi difraksi menggunakan daun sereh dan lidah mertua menunjukkan fenomena difraksi cahaya sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai kisi difraksi sederhana berbahan alam dengan nilai d=(34.20 +/- 7.86) x 10^-6 m dan d=(62.50 +/- 13.60) x 10^-6 m pada kisi difraksi tanaman lidah mertua. Abstract. The light waves which flex when they pass through a narrow gap are called diffraction. The diffraction phenomenon can be seen by conducting simple experiments using natural materials. This study used a diffraction grating made from lemongrass leaves (Cymbopogon citratus) and sansevieria (Sansevieria trifasciata) using a red laser (λ = 632.8 nm) with several variations in the distance of the diffraction grating to the screen. The diffraction patterns were analyzed using Tracker software. The results of this study show that the diffraction grating using lemongrass leaves and sansevieria  show the phenomenon of light diffraction so that it can be used as a simple diffraction grating made from natural ingredients with values d=(34.20 +/- 7.86) x 10^-6 m of lemongrass leaves and d=(62.50 +/- 13.60) x 10^-6 m for the diffraction grating of the sansevieria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Alat Peraga Kit Optik Serbaguna yang dapat meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian eksperimen, dengan subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas VIII H SMP N 1 Semarang. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes, angket, dan lembar observasi. Data yang di analisis berupa hasil penerapan dalam pembelajaran dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat peraga yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan KPS siswa dengan nilai gain mencapai 0,85 yang (kriteria tinggi). Peningkatan KPS tertinggi terjadi pada indikator mengamati sedangkan terendah pada indikator menyusun hipotesis. Hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan Alat Peraga Kit Optik Serbaguna menunjukkan adanya penigkatan yang signifikan, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai gain mencapai 0,78 (kriteria tinggi). Hasil angket respon terhadap Alat Peraga Kit Optik Serbaguna menunjukkan nilai 75,59% untuk alat peraga kit optik serbaguna dan 70,78% untuk LKS. The Development of Multipurpose Optical Kit Learning Aid for Enhancing Students’ Science Process Skills AbstractThis study aims to develop of multifunction optic kit teaching aids toward to improvement of students Science Process Skills. Method design used in this study was experimental research method, with eight graders of SMP N 1 Semarang as the research subject. The instrument used in this study included test, questionnaire, and observation sheet. The result of this study showed that the developed props could improve students Science Process Skills, with the value gain reaching 0,85(high criteria). The highest improvement of Science Process Skills occurred in indicator of observing, while the lowest occurred in indicator of compile the hypothesis. The learning outcomes using the props indicated a significant improvement, this is showed by value gain reaching 0,78 (high criteria). The result of a questionnaire of multifunction optic kit teaching aids showed the value 75,59% and 70,78% of student worksheet.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa melalui model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing serta untuk mengetahui korelasi KPS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bojong Kabupaten Pekalongan tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan desain control group pretest posttest. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode tes dan observasi. Pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing diterapkan pada kelas eksperimen sedangkan Direct Instruction (DI) diterapkan pada kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan KPS kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,52 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,33. Pada penelitian ini, aspek keterampilan proses sains yang memperoleh hasil optimal adalah aspek observasi, mengukur, melakukan percobaan, dan komunikasi. Peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,53 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,38. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kelas eksperimen baik KPS maupun hasil belajar kognitif lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji korelasi pearson menunjukkan bahwa KPS memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan hasil output korelasi pearson r(35)=0,554; . Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan KPS dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa serta memberikan pengaruh positif antara KPS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa.Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar kognitif Application of Guided Inquiry Learning Model to Improve SPS and Student Learning Outcomes for Junior High School Grade VIII AbstractThe aim of this reseach is to improve the Science Prosess Skill (SPS) and to find out the student cognitive learning outcomes by guided inquiry learning models and also to find out the corelation of SPS and student’s learning outcomes. The populations of this reseach is 8th grade of SMP Negeri 1 Bojong’s students on 2016/2017 school year, in Pekalongan city. The kind of this research is quasy experimental research used control group pretest posttest design. The datas took by test and observation method. Guided inquiry learning was applied in experimental class while direct instruction was applied in control class instead. The results of this research shown 0.52 for experimental class while 0.33 for control class in improvement of SPS. In this research, the aspects of improvement of SPS which got optimal result is observation, measurement, experiment, dan comunications aspect.  The improvement of cognitive learning outcomes for experimental class is 0.53 while 0.38 for control class. Based on the results of this research, experimental class got higher point for SPS and cognitive learning outcomes than control class. The result of analisys in pearson corelation shown that SPS gave more positive effect for student cognitive learning outcomes at points r(35)=0.554; p0.01 for  pearson corelation score. From this research can be conclude  that applyng the guided inquiry learning models can improve SPS and student cognitive learning outcomes and also give more positive effect of SPS in student cognitive learning outcomes.Keywords: Guided Inquiry, Science Process Skills, Cognitive Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh implementasi model pembelajaran IPA berbasis kearifan lokal terhadap kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa, serta mengetahui besar peningkatannya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan quasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII F sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII B sebagai kelas kontrol di SMP Negeri 22 Semarang. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Aspek kreativitas yang diteliti terdiri atas kelancaran, keaslian, kesadaran dan ingatan yang diukur dengan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test didapatkan signifikansi data hasil belajar siswa sebesar 0,003 0,05 dan signifikansi data hasil observasi kreativitas sebesar 0,003 0,05. Artinya ada perbedaan kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Besar peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,56 kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,68 kategori sedang. Besar peningkatan kreativitas siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,55 kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,71 kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa dengan model pembelajaran IPA berbasis kearifan lokal dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Pada penelitian ini nilai kearifan lokal yang diangkat yaitu Kalender Pranata Mangsa yang sudah tertanam di masyarakat Jawa. Implementation of Science Learning Model Based on Local Wisdom to Improve Creativity and Student Learning Outcomes AbstractThe aim of this study is to reveal the effect of the implementation of science learning model based on local wisdom to improve creativity and student learning outcomes, as well as knowing the magnitude of improvement. This research method uses quasi-experiment. The sample of this research is class VII F as an experimental class and VII B as control class in SMP Negeri 22 Semarang. Sample selection using purposive sampling technique. The aspects of creativity were constructing fluency, originality, awareness, and memory. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-test test the significance of the data obtained in student learning outcomes of 0,003 0,05 and the significance of the observation data from the creativity of 0.003 0.05. This means that there are differences in creativity and student learning outcomes significantly between the experimental class and control class. Great improvement of student learning outcomes in the control class of 0.56 which are medium category, while in the experimental class of 0.68 which are medium category. Great improvement of students' creativity in the control class of 0.55 which are medium category, while in the experimental class of 0.71 which are high category. The results of this study prove that the science learning model based on local wisdom can improve creativity and student learning outcomes. This study the value of local wisdom that is Calendar Pranata Mangsa already embedded in the Java communit.

Abstract

Bahan ajar merupakan salah satu penunjang  keberhasilan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menerapkan bahan ajar sains berbahasa Inggris berbasis metakognitif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji penerapan bahan ajar sains berbahasa Inggris berbasis metakognitif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa SMP. Metode penelitian menggunakan eksperimen, dengan desain Quasi Experimental teknik nonequivalent control group design. Pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Penelitian ini membandingkan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai rata-rata (84,76) dan kelas kontrol memiliki nilai rata-rata (75,67). Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah untuk kelas eksperimen ditunjukkan dengan uji gain (0,76) dengan kriteria tinggi sedangkan kelas kontrol ditunjukkan dengan uji gain (0,64) dengan kriteria sedang. Uji respon siswa setelah diterapkan bahan ajar diperoleh presentase (77,25) dengan kriteria sangat setuju. Disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berbahasa Inggris berbasis metakognitif dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. The Implementation of Metacognitive Based Science English Teaching Material to Improve Junior High School Students’ Problem Solving Ability AbstractTeaching material is one of the factors that encourage students’ success in learning. This study aims to apply metacognitive based science teaching material written in English to improve problem-solving students’ ability. The research examined the implementation of metacognitive-based English teaching material in improving students’ problem-solving ability. The research method used was an experiment, with Quasi-Experimental Design using non-equivalent control group design technique. The sampling used was purposive sampling. This study compared to the experimental class and control one. The result showed that the average score of the experimental class was  (84.76) and the average score of control class was (75,67). Improved problem-solving capability for the experimental class was shown by the gain test (0.76) with ‘high criterion’ while the control class is shown by the gain test (0.64) with the ‘medium criterion’. Students’ response test after learning material obtained a percentage of (77,25) with criteria of ‘strongly agree’. In conclusion, metacognitive based English teaching material can be used to improve students problem solving ability.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui seberapa jauh pengembangan kreativitas keterampilan proses sains dalam aspek kehidupan organisme melalui IPA di SD di DIY. Pengumpulan data melalui survei dengan teknik sampel gugus setelah ditetapkan Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Dinas Pendidikan yang mewakili wilayah perkotaan dan pinggiran. Hasil survei terhadap 400 guru kelas IV dan V serta 1200 grup peserta didik dari 10 UPT di lima kabupaten/kota di DIY menunjukkan hampir semua guru menyatakan pentingnya pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan kreativitas keterampilan proses sains dalam aspek kehidupan kepada peserta didik. Mereka hampir tidak pernah atau jarang membelajarkannya tanpa disertai pemberian contoh. Umumnya mereka sering melakukannya dengan disertai pemberian contoh. Tidak ada guru yang melaporkan pernah mengikuti diklat pengembangan kreativitas. Kata Kunci: kreativitas, keterampilan proses sains, pembelajaran, aktivitas kehidupan DEVELOPING CREATIVITY OF THE SCIENCE PROCESS SKILL IN THE ORGANISM LIFE ASPECT IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCIENCE Abstract: This research is aimed to know how far the development of creativity of science process skills in the life aspect through the science subject in elementary schools in DIY. The data were collected through a survey by employing a group sampling technique after the areas had been determined by the Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) of the education office which represented the city and suburb areas. The results of the survey which involved 400 elementary school teachers of grades IV and V as well as 1200 students from 10 UPT of 5 different regencies/municipalities in DIY show that almost all teachers stated the importance of developing creativity of the science process skill in the life aspect for the students. They hardly ever or seldom taught without giving examples. They often taught by giving examples. There was no teacher who stated that they had ever joined a training to develop the students’ creativity. Keywords: creativity, science process skill, learning activity, the life aspect

Abstract

The objective of this researchis to evaluate of the quality of internationalstandard schools (in Indonesia called SB/) and national standard schools (SSN) ofsenior high schools compared to other senior high schools categorized as neitherSBI nor SSN located in'Klaten. The evaluation focused on goal-oriented evaluationof thetwo issues: (1) teachers' attempts to deal with student-centred teaching andlearning activities and .(2) teachers' attempts to encourage their students to learn.This researchwas conducted at SMAN 1 Klaten (SB1), SMA 2 Klaten (SSN),SMANJogart~lan andSMAN Prambanan, which is neither SBI nor SSN. To obt~in thedata, two sets of questionnaires were administered.'To triangulate and to slipportdata collection, interviews with,the principals of, the four schools were cOl}ducted.'To satisfy the validity and the reliability of the interpretation of data, theinstruments,'weredeveloped.on the basis of blueprints and empirically analyzepusing QUEST. The obtaiRed data were analyzed with a descriptive analysis. Withregard to the data analysis; the results reveal that thereis only a slight differenceiptermsof the two issues above between schools' categorized as SBland' SSNcomparedtoctwo other schools categorized as neitherSBJ nor SSN

Abstract

Teaching materials are one part of learning tools that can help the teaching and learning process of both teachers and students. This study aims to determine the application of SETS-based science teaching materials to increase the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students. This study uses two classes as an experimental class. Treatment in the experimental class by giving SETS teaching materials with scientific literacy aspects and control classes using teaching materials used in daily teaching and learning activities. The learning process takes place at SMP N 01 Taman. The class is chosen as the control and experimental class with purposive sampling obtained from the mid-semester test scores. At the same time, the pretest-posttest method was used to determine whether the students' scientific literacy skills were good or not. The results of this study indicate that the application of SETS-based science materials with literacy aspects can significantly improve literacy skills. This can be seen from the calculation of N-Gain. Implementation of SETS-based science teaching materials can improve scientific literacy.
