Abstract

Physics teaching materials in Islamic schools frequently prioritise conceptual mastery while neglecting the integration of Islamic values and the cultivation of self-regulated learning (SRL), despite both being mandated objectives of Indonesian national education. This study aimed to develop, validate, and assess the practicality and effectiveness of a Qur’an-integrated Student Worksheet (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik, LKPD) on Newton’s Laws designed to strengthen SRL among seventh-grade students. A Research and Development design following the ADDIE model was employed. Participants comprised two expert validators (subject-matter and media specialists), one physics teacher, and 59 seventh-grade students from MTs Ma’arif Gondang, Indonesia, distributed between an experimental class (VII-A, n = 30) and a control class (VII-B, n = 29). The LKPD was evaluated for validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Expert validation yielded a mean score of 4.39 out of 5.00 (87.8%), placing the product in the “Very Valid” category. Practicality assessment by students and teacher produced a mean score of 3.70 out of 4.00 (92.5%), classified as “Very Practical”. Effectiveness was examined through a pre-test–post-test quasi-experimental design; the experimental group achieved a mean normalised gain (N-Gain) of 57%, exceeding the control group’s 42%. An independent-samples t-test confirmed a statistically significant difference (t = 2.989 > t = 1.673; df = 57; Alpha = .05). These findings indicate that Qur’an-integrated instructional materials can meaningfully advance both conceptual understanding and self-regulatory capacities in secondary physics education.

Abstract

The instructional impact of learning using an ethnoscience approach is often ignored, even though its contribution to students' creative thinking skills is very much needed. The research aims to analyze the direct contribution to students' creative thinking skills. Quasi-experimental research method with pre-test post-test control group design. Data collection used a standardized TTCT (Torrance Test Creative Thinking) question instrument. The analysis technique uses the MANOVA F test. The results show that learning with an ethnoscience approach can contribute to student's creative thinking skills based on the MANOVA f test that all components are significant (Sig. < 0.05). Learning with an ethnoscience approach significantly influences each indicator of Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, Elaboration, and Redefinition with a P-Value of 0.000. The largest contribution is the R-squared value of 0.568 for the experimental class and 0.561 for the control class in the Originality indicator. The coefficient of determination is based on the R2 value (0.568)2: 0.32 x 100%: 32% of learning using an ethnoscience approach to creative thinking skills. Students' ability to develop original thinking has more dominant results compared to other indicators of creative thinking skills. Recommendations for the importance of learning design that considers students' learning needs and cultural backgrounds. Abstract

This study aims to determine the concept of physics in the form of weather such as rain, wind, and temperature during the flight of the lanterns in the Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) series of events. This research used qualitative research method with literature study method because the data used comes from books, journals, and other documents. The findings in this study are in the form of physics concepts in the flight of lanterns in the series of DCF events. The conclusion is that in the series of DCF events, namely the lantern festival, it can be related to physics, namely the rain and wind conditions in September are not so great that when the lanterns are blown up, they can rise but do not cause the lanterns to disappear into the surrounding villages because of the wind. In addition to the wind, rainfall also affects the Lantern Festival. When heavy rainfall will cause the lanterns to not fly because the heat cannot meet the volume of the lanterns. August to September 2022 is a pretty good month because the wind isn't too fast, the rainfall isn't too dense and the ambient temperature isn't too cold.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education plays an important role in shaping human understanding of the meaning of life and death as decreed by Allah SWT. Such understanding is not only obtained through formal religious education, but can also be found in local cultural practices that live and develop within society. One form of local culture is the Gondang Keli chant, which is performed in the Topeng Lengger dance by the Rukun Sari Art Group in Kertek District. This study aims to explore the meaning of life and death in the Gondang Keli chant through a hermeneutic approach and to interpret it from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and textual analysis of the chant. The findings indicate that the Gondang Keli chant functions not only as entertainment, but also as a medium of spiritual messages and existential reflection on the transience of human life, as represented through symbols of water, crying, gentle musical rhythms, and trance phenomena during the performance. These meanings are in accordance with Islamic teachings on death, as stated in a hadith narrated by Muslim, which explains that a person’s deeds come to an end after death except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and the prayer of a righteous child.
