Abstract

Background: Indonesia ranks second in the world in the number of tuberculosis (TB) cases, which continues to be a pressing health problem worldwide. Although OAT treatment regimens are accessible, their success depends on patient adherence during long-term therapy. Non-adherence, or non-compliance, is a complex behavioral phenomenon that leads to treatment failure, multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), and increased mortality. Purpose: To examine factors influencing non-adherence in TB patients. Method: The study was conducted by conducting a literature review using a comprehensive search of PubMed and Google Scholar databases for articles published between 2020 and 2025. A total of 361 articles were found, and 16 relevant articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected for analysis. Results: The study showed that a multidimensional interaction of six main factors influences non-adherence: patient factors, therapy factors, disease factors, social factors, economic factors, and healthcare factors. Conclusion: Non-adherence in tuberculosis patients is caused by a combination of internal and external challenges, requiring a broad intervention approach that includes improving education, psychosocial support, and healthcare systems. Keywords: Non-Adherence; Tuberculosis; Treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the academic literature on currency redenomination as a domestic monetary policy and evaluate whether it represents an effective economic solution or merely a nominal adjustment. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, the study analyzes peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2000 and 2025, indexed in Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Emerald, applying the PRISMA framework and clear selection criteria. Seven core articles were examined using qualitative thematic analysis. The findings indicate that currency redenomination does not directly change real purchasing power or macroeconomic fundamentals; rather, its success depends heavily on macroeconomic stability, institutional readiness, political legitimacy, and effective public communication. Under conditions of low and stable inflation, redenomination can improve transactional efficiency, accounting simplicity, and business productivity. At the microeconomic level, some studies report increased firm profitability, although the impacts are often context-specific. Psychologically, redenomination is associated with the money illusion effect, influencing price perceptions and consumer behavior, yet effective public education campaigns can significantly reduce these biases. Overall, currency redenomination should be understood as a strategic political–economic policy that may succeed under specific conditions rather than a universal solution to monetary challenges.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Palembang Parking Information Application System (SIAPP) as an e-Government initiative in urban parking services. Existing research on digital and smart parking systems has largely focused on their technical design and performance, with limited insight into how they are implemented and maintained within local government institutions. To address this gap, this study analyzes the institutional, organizational, and managerial factors that shape SIAPP's effectiveness. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis to capture the dynamics of implementation in practice. The findings indicate that SIAPP has facilitated a shift from manual to ICT-based parking management, thereby improving operational efficiency, transparency, and accountability, and increasing local government revenue. Digital record-keeping and information accessibility have strengthened oversight and helped reduce illegal parking practices. However, the results also reveal uneven implementation outcomes. Institutional and policy support emerged as key enabling factors, while limited human resource capacity and the continuation of partially manual administrative processes limited the system's performance despite adequate technological infrastructure. The study further demonstrates that SIAPP generates value for both the government and citizens, particularly through improved revenue control and increased service trust. These findings underscore that effective e-Government implementation in urban services depends not only on technological readiness but also on sustained institutional commitment, capacity building, inter-agency data integration, and public engagement, which offer relevant policy insights for urban digital governance.

Abstract

The 2025 Community Service Program (KUKERTA) under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative at the University of Riau was implemented in Sawah Baru Village, Kampa Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, with the aim of supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on quality education. Although Sawah Baru Village has considerable human potential, awareness of the dangers of narcotics remains limited, posing high risk particularly among school-aged children. Adopting a participatory approach, the students conducted a drug prevention outreach program among the pupils, using lecture presentations, interactive question-and-answer discussions, and poster distribution as supporting media. Evaluation results revealed increased student participation and enhanced understanding of types of narcotics, their harmful impacts, and methods to resist negative environmental influences. The activity proved effective in improving students’ knowledge and awareness. Sustaining this effort requires collaboration among teachers, parents, and relevant authorities to foster a healthy, drug-free school environment. This program also can serve as a model for developing community-based educational ecosystems within schools.

Abstract

Senggani (Melastoma malabathricum L.) is a fruit known for its high content of phenolic and flavonoid compounds, which contribute to its antioxidant properties and are highly affected by fermentation processes. This study investigated how aerobic and anaerobic fermentation influence the total phenolic content, total flavonoid content, and antioxidant activity of senggani fruit extracts. The experiment involved aerobic fermentation without yeast and anaerobic fermentation with yeast, both conducted for three days. Total phenolics were quantified using the Folin–Ciocalteu assay, total flavonoids were measured via the aluminum chloride colorimetric method, and antioxidant activity was evaluated through the DPPH radical scavenging assay using UV–Vis spectrophotometry. The findings indicated that aerobic fermentation resulted in greater total phenolic (16.45 mg GAE/g) and flavonoid levels (16.95 mg QE/g), along with stronger antioxidant activity (IC50 55.37 ppm), compared to anaerobic fermentation. In contrast, anaerobic treatment yielded lower phenolic (11.77 mg GAE/g) and flavonoid contents (11.53 mg QE/g) and reduced antioxidant capacity (IC₅₀ 59.86 ppm). Overall, the results suggest that fermentation conditions play a crucial role in shaping the bioactive composition and antioxidant performance of senggani extracts, with aerobic fermentation showing better potential for developing functional and nutraceutical products.

Abstract

Financial fraud in the public sector remains a persistent challenge that undermines governance, accountability, and public trust. Although previous reviews have examined aspects of fraud and forensic accounting, limited attention has been given to how technology, fraud drivers, and prevention mechanisms interact within the public sector context. This study aims to map and synthesize recent literature to understand the role of technology, key drivers, and prevention strategies in mitigating public sector financial fraud. Using Arksey and O’Malley (2005) scoping review framework, this study systematically identified and analyzed 10 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2021 and 2025. The findings reveal that technologies such as big data analytics and blockchain significantly enhance fraud detection and transparency, while weak internal controls and permissive organizational culture remain major drivers of fraud. Preventive mechanisms, including forensic auditing and strong governance structures, demonstrate effectiveness in reducing fraud risk. This review contributes to the literature by integrating three dimensions, technology, fraud drivers, and prevention, in a single analytical framework, offering a more comprehensive understanding of public sector fraud mitigation than prior reviews. The study highlights research gaps in long-term policy evaluation and cross-sectoral learning between public and private entities, providing directions for future research and policy development.

Abstract

Pineapple peel (Ananas comosus L.) is an agricultural by-product rich in phenolic compounds and flavonoids that may possess significant antioxidant properties. This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity of 70% ethanol extract of pineapple peel using two complementary spectrophotometric methods: CUPRAC (Cupric Reducing Antioxidant Capacity) and FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power). The extraction was performed by maceration method yielding 14.77 ± 0.52% extract. Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, phenolics, saponins, and terpenoids. Total phenolic content (TPC) was 68.42 ± 2.31 mg GAE/g and total flavonoid content (TFC) was 42.67 ± 1.84 mg QE/g. The CUPRAC method at 450 nm yielded a TEAC value of 312.5 ± 8.2 μmol TE/g, while the FRAP method at 593 nm yielded 198.4 ± 5.6 μmol Fe²⁺/g. EC50 values were 186.4 ± 6.3 μg/mL (CUPRAC) and 228.3 ± 7.4 μg/mL (FRAP), which were lower than vitamin C as positive control (89.7 ± 3.8 and 112.5 ± 4.2 μg/mL, respectively). Pearson correlation showed strong positive correlations between TPC/TFC and antioxidant activity (r = 0.9873 and 0.9645, p < 0.01). These results indicate that pineapple peel ethanol extract possesses moderate antioxidant activity attributable primarily to its phenolic and flavonoid content, warranting further studies on bioactivity-guided fractionation.

Abstract

The implementation of the Village Information System (SID) represents a strategic step in enhancing the quality of administrative services through the digitalization of population data management. Prior to the SID implementation, Aikmel Village encountered various obstacles, including non-digitalized data management and manual administrative processes, which led to potential delays and recording errors. This article aims to describe the implementation of an OpenSID-based system to support administrative service efficiency through the Community Service Program (KKN) of the University of Mataram. The methodology employed includes participatory observation, population data updating and digitalization, technical assistance for village officials, and the evaluation of correspondence services. The results demonstrate a significant transformation from the initial absence of a digital database to an integrated system with 9,499 successfully digitalized population records. The utilization of SID supports administrative services with an average of seven documents processed per workday, while simultaneously improving service time efficiency, digital archiving organization, and data access accuracy. The success of this implementation is influenced by the quality of data digitalization, infrastructure readiness, and the active involvement of village officials in system management. The implementation of SID contributes to the strengthening of data-based village administrative governance and holds sustainable potential in supporting transparency and more effective village development planning.
