Abstract

The natural resources potential at Pangandaran has become strategic since its status as a district is definitive. Being a new district, Pangandaran has a number of challenges that must be faced in the era of free trade that is getting closer. That is, it requires qualified skills from the government officials. One of these skills is related to information management for the public. The purpose of this community service is to describe and explain how to improve the knowledge and skills of civil servants engaged in the field of information services in Pangandaran district, especially those related to information management techniques that have news value. The implementation of community service was conducted by lecture, question and answer, and simulation. The results of the activities show that state civil servants engaged in information services for the community in Pangandaran district did not appear to have sufficient knowledge and skills in terms of information management needed by the community. This is evident from the lack of information on the website in government agencies regarding the updating of activities in the district of Pangandaran. Based on our community service activities, we conclude that there has been an increase in knowledge and skills shown by the many questions and discussions of participants on how to find, manage and pack information into valuable news needed by the community. It is suggested that the implementation of community service activities should be in the form of assistance so that speakers would be able to inculcate the values of professionalism in the management of information that is important for the community in Pangandaran district through continuous capacity building and empowerment of professional civil servants in the field of communication.

Abstract

Untuk membangun pola komunikasi yang terus berkelanjutan dalam hal kepariwisataan, masyarakat perlu dirangsang melalui program skema komunikasi pemberdayaan pada kegiatan-kegiatan yang terkait dengan event pariwisata, seperti pelatihan komunikasi efektif. Program pelatihan komunikasi efektif tentang kepariwisataan dilakukan berdasarkan potensi keragaman pariwisata yang terdapat di desa Bongas kecamatan Cililin yang memiliki adat, tradisi, budaya dan seni lokal. Pelatihan ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan secara lisan dan tulisan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat dalam menyampaikan pesan kepariwisataan ke pihak luar. Pendekatan kegiatan pelatihan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan simulasi dengan peserta berasal dari pelaku UMKM dan kelompok sadar wisata. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta terhadap pentingnnya komunikasi efektif dalam bentuk pengemasan pesan beserta teknik publikasinya bagi pelaku UMKM dan kelompok sadar wisata di desa Bongas. Kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah bahwa potensi keragaman pariwisata akan semakin terkelola dengan baik apabila dilakukan dengan penyampaian pesan secara efektif mengenai objek wisata ke masyarakatmelalui skema pemberdayaan masyarakat yang partisipatif

Abstract

The presence of digital technology in the community has had a significant impact on the patterns of life behavior of urban and rural communities. Pangandaran is a new district in West Java, still has many developing villages. In developing villages, there is also exposure to increasingly massive digital communication used by the community. The involvement of the millennial generation as part of the village community in the digital era can provide open and innovative development opportunities to develop the potential of the village-owned. Based on this information, the implementation of community service in the village of Purbahayu was carried out by choosing the theme of online media training for millennial generations in order to improve information literacy in development using lecture, discussion, and simulation methods through the demonstration learning model approach. The results of the implementation of community service show that the millennial generation in Purbahayu village has increased knowledge that is evident from the many questions surrounding the use and use of online media for the development of village potential. Whereas behaviorally, the millennial generation in Purbahayu village has been exposed to various business services and financial services by the millennial generation habits in urban areas.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                 This study aims to find out the planning of the campaign, the design of messages to increase knowledge, design messages to change attitudes, design activities to increase capabilities, and changes in millennial behavior in the campaign #ThinkBeforeYousSHare. This research uses Ostergaard Campaign Model as the basic concept. This research uses mixed methods. Data collection techniques were conducted with in-depth interviews, active participant observation, literature study, and questionnaire using the technique of collecting informants purposive sampling and collecting technique of multistage sampling respondents. Data analysis techniques use mix methods whereas the technique of data validity using source triangulation, validity test, and realibility. The results of this study suggest that the planning of #ThinkBeforeYousSHare campaign through several stages of goal setting, target identification, strategy and tactics, timeline, funding source, committee formation, and evaluation. Then in designing messages and activities to increase knowledge, change behavior, and add skills, brainstorming by the core team which then produce two strategies and tactics that is offline activities in the form of workshops and activities online using social media and photo challenge activities on the website. While the results of changes in millennial behavior on the aspects of cognition and konasi already high enough. But this campaign has not managed to touch the full aspect of public affection so that millenial-generation behavior in the negative social media usage has not changed. Through this research, the researcher suggests Do Something Indonesia to make more detailed design of the campaign, research before designing messages, choose more credible communicators, include content about the victim experience of negative social media use, using influencers / buzzers as a persuasion strategy, in the delivery of messages on social media.Keywords: campaign; campaign planning; campaign message; mixed methods; millenials generation. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan kampanye, perancangan pesan untuk menambah pengetahuan, perancangan pesan untuk mengubah sikap, perancangan kegiatan untuk menambah kemampuan, dan perubahan perilaku generasi milenial pada kampanye #ThinkBeforeYousSHare. Penelitian ini menggunakan Model Kampanye Ostergaard sebagai konsep dasar. Penelitian ini menggunankan metode campuran (mix methods). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi pertisipan aktif, studi kepustakaan, dan angket menggunakan teknik pengumpulan informan purposive sampling dan teknik pengumpulan responden multistage sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan mix methods sedangkan teknik validitas data menggunakan triangulasi sumber, uji validitas, dan realibilitas. Hasil penelitian ini mengemukakan bahwa perencanaan kampanye #ThinkBeforeYousSHare melalui beberapa tahap yaitu penetapan tujuan, identifikasi target sasaran, strategi dan taktik, timeline, sumber dana, pembentukan panitia, dan evaluasi. Kemudian dalam merancang pesan dan kegiatan untuk menambah pengetahuan, mengubah perilaku, dan menambah kemampuan, dilakukan brainstorming oleh tim inti yang kemudian menghasilkan dua buah strategi dan taktik yaitu kegiatan offline berupa workshop dan kegiatan online menggunakan media sosial dan kegiatan photo challenge pada website. Sedangkan hasil perubahan perilaku generasi milenial pada aspek kognisi dan konasi sudah cukup tinggi. Namun kampanye ini belum berhasil menyentuh aspek afeksi publik sepenuhnya sehingga perilaku generasi milenial terhapa penggunaan media sosial yang negatif belum berubah. Melalui penelitian ini, peneliti menyarankan agar Do Something Indonesia untuk membuat perancangan kampanye lebih detail, melakukan riset sebelum merancang pesan, memilih komunikator yang lebih kredibel,menyertakan konten mengenai pengalaman korban penggunaan media sosial yang negatif, menggunakan influencer/buzzer sebagai strategi persuasi, serta konsisten dalam penyampaian pesan di media sosial.Kata Kunci: kampanye; perencanaan kampanye; pesan kampanye; metode kombinasi; generasi milenial.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a country fighting Covid-19 attacks, needs to gain comprehensive knowledge for all its citizens to be able to get out of times of health crisis in. One solution that needs to be communicated in the face of this virus outbreak is a healthy lifestyle according to the advice of health protocols issued by the WHO and Indonesian government authorities. Through community service activities (PPM) integrated with KKN Mahasiswa (KKNM) Universitas Padjadjaran during this pandemic, we strive to contribute optimally in various socialization and education activities regarding the handling of Covid-19. This method of implementation of PPM - KKNM is carried out using online and offline modes in each residence of KKNM students. The results show that public communication about healthy lifestyles in the pandemic era based on the utilization of social media can be a means of educating continuously about the handling of Covid-19. The conclusion of the activity shows that through the approach of public communication conducted offline and online can provide knowledge and understanding about the efforts of handling Covid-19. The advice is that synergy needs to be done in the management of public communication that implements various communication channels to gain the full and consistent public trust of the target audience.

Abstract

 Abstract Corporate logo plays a significant role in a company’s development related to the context of communicating a company's identity, vision, mission, and organization culture to the public. A logo should represent managerial philosophy when implementing the transformation of performance and accomplishment that indicates competitive, superior, and innovative characteristics. This study tries to approach the utilization of the new logo of Bandung Water Company by utilizing the perspective of Roland Barthes Semiotics. The result of the study indicates that the denotative meaning of the logo represents a shape of water drop that signifies the corporate service which provides water supply to the citizens of Bandung. The connotative meaning from the logo signifies a transformative effort from the company towards good corporate governance, which is corresponding to the implementation regional autonomy laws in terms of its business context. The myth which the logo visualizes, signifies the proprietary of the company to the city of Bandung. The logo also signifiy values of Sundanese traits in conducting its service for the public and depicts the geographical domain of the company’s operation.Keywords: semiotics, logo, representationAbstrakKeberadaan logo menjadi sangat penting bagi perkembangan suatu perusahaan dalam usaha mengkomunikasikan identitas, visi, misi, dan budaya organisasi kepada publiknya. Logo dapat merepresentasikan filosofi pihak pimpinan dalam mengimplementasikan transformasi capaian kinerja suatu organisasi yang memiliki karakter daya saing, unggul, dan inovatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan analisis data menggunakan semiotik model Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian tampilan logo baru PDAM Kota Bandung menunjukkan bahwa makna denotasi merepresentasikan bentuk tetesan air sebagai perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang layanan air untuk publik di wilayah kota Bandung. Adapun makna konotasi yang terdapat dalam tampilan logo baru PDAM Kota Bandung adalah sebagai transformasi perusahaan yang menuju good corporate governance yang merupakan bagian dari implementasi Undang-undang Otonomi Daerah dalam konteks bisnis. Sedangkan makna mitos yang ada dalam tampilan logo baru PDAM Kota Bandung ini adalah menunjukkan bahwa PDAM Kota Bandung merupakan perusahaan milik Pemerintah Kota Bandung yang memiliki ciri nilai-nilai budaya kesundaan dalam melaksanakan layanan kepada publiknya dan menampilkan lokasi perusahaan yang menjadi domisili operasional perusahaan.Kata kunci: semiotik, logo, representasi

Abstract

There are still many differences in the views of the public relations profession, namely as a "handyman" read the news, frontline, photographer, maker of the press conference, reception, to the functions of public relations as a strategic planner in the decision-making body or a part of the dominant coalition. Perceptions of a profession that is contained in an organization, it is significant because it may affect how a person appreciate the work or duties, and qualifications of the professional field. This research was conducted in order to reveal the existence of phenomena that occur on the Public Relations profession in the District Government Pangandaran. The method used in the form of quantitative methods and the types of descriptive survey study. The respondents were selected were government officials working in the district administration Pangandaran with data collection is done by means of the distribution of questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature studies. The results showed that the apparatus of government in the district of Pangandaran has to perceive / interpret the qualifications Public Relations profession is well on aspects of the ability to communicate, ability to organize, ability to get on with people, and imagination. However, in the aspect of personal integrity there that consider a Public Relations officials do not have to come from public relations education / communication and should not be a woman.

Abstract

This study examines the usage of Beritabaik.id Live Instagram in the Bicara Baik program. The purpose of this study is to find out and explain the participation, interactivity, and content of messages conveyed in Bicara Baik Live Instagram with the Mental Act Community. The author uses participant observation techniques, interviews and literature studies in collecting data in this writing. The results of the collection of study materials and analysis led to the conclusion that participation in Bicara Baik Live Instagram with the Mental Act Community is still very low. From the two episodes with the Act Mental community, there are only 0.4-0.5% of Beritabaik.id followers who participate in Bicara Baik Live Instagram. Even so, interactivity has been well established between the hosts, speakers and audience. This is evidenced by the comments and questions given by the audience and then responded to by the speakers. In fact, the communication pattern that exists on Bicara Baik Live Instagram is a circular communication pattern. This is because from every interaction that is built, it doesn't just stop at the audience. Instead, the audience sends the message back to the source. In addition, the content of the message conveyed is in accordance with the Live Instagram theme that is carried. The viewers who watched Live Instagram with the Act Mental Community clearly knew the important educational points conveyed by the speakers from the two episodes.

Abstract

One of the characteristics of the success of public services carried out by an organization is in the form of delivering information and organizing an activity that is beneficial to stakeholders. Submitting information and organizing these activities is part of public communication that must be carried out by the public relations department of an organization. Is done by the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of West Java Province which has the function as the front guard to provide information through various media publications with a deliberate strategy. The form of undertaken strategy is public relations events and media relations which packaged in activities with the theme "Bandung Ocean Bike". This article discusses how the contents of the communication message delivered in the "Bandung Lautan Sepeda" activity and how to use its publication media. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-based research approach through data collection conducted by interviews, field observations, and literature studies. The results of the research on the "Bandung Ocean of Bicycles" activity showed that the message content conveyed on the activity poster contained persuasive sentences while the type of media publication used is below the line media such as banners, posters, backdrops, and word of mouth

Abstract

Ketika karakteristik manusia diasosiasikan dengan sebuah brand, maka akan terbentuk brand personality yang mampu membedakan satu brand dengan kompetitornya. Sifat media sosial yang personal kini membantu brand menonjolkan kepribadiannya serta menjadi lebih manusiawi. Penelitian ini menjelaskan strategi Courtyard by Marriott Bandung Dago dalam mengkomunikasikan brand personality melalui Instagram, yang terdiri dari proses Audit/Discovery & Research, Tracking & Monitoring, Distribution/Channel, Communication/Content Optimization, Engagement, dan Measurement. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses Audit/Discovery & Research dilakukan melalui Creative Meeting, namun belum sesuai dengan tahapan audit yang ideal.
