Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of the Socratic Method in improving Critical Thinking Skills. The Socratic Method, which focuses on in-depth and collaborative dialogic interactions between teachers and students, motivates students to be active in exploring, testing beliefs, and critically analyzing information. Various studies have shown that the application of this method, especially in mathematics education at the junior and senior high school levels, can significantly improve students' Critical Thinking Skills compared to traditional teaching methods. Findings from the study at SMPN showed that more than 75% of students were actively and effectively involved in the learning process, with a consistent increase in critical thinking scores in the aspects of clarification, investigation of assumptions, reasons, evidence, and reflection. The Socratic Method has also proven successful in improving students' ability to make decisions based on independent analysis and logical arguments, making it very relevant to be implemented in today's educational context that requires the development of high-level thinking skills. Other studies have also shown that the Socratic Dialogue approach has a significant success rate in improving students' Critical Thinking Skills. Thus, this approach is highly recommended for adoption in the educational process.

Abstract

Low literacy skills among junior high school students are a problem in geography learning, especially in relation to understanding symbols, scales, and orientation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Seterra educational game based on Game-Based Learning in improving the map literacy of seventh-grade students at SMP Plus Miftahul Falah. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis & Taggart model with three cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were obtained through map literacy tests and observation of learning activities. The results showed an increase in the average student score from 45 on the pretest to 60 in cycle I, 75 in cycle II, 82 in cycle III, and 87 on the posttest. Seterra-based learning also increased student motivation and activity during the learning process. Thus, Seterra proved to be effective as an interactive medium for improving map literacy and is recommended as an alternative to technology-based geography learning.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a strategic sector in local economic development, particularly in rural areas. However, many MSME actors in Banyumulek Village, Lombok Barat, still face various obstacles in managerial aspects, such as business planning, financial recording, decision-making, and resource management. This study aims to analyze the effect of business mentoring on improving the managerial capacity of MSME actors in the village. The research method used is a quantitative method with a survey approach. The population in this study were all active MSME players in Banyumulek Village, and a purposive sample of 55 respondents was taken. Data collection techniques were conducted through questionnaires, interviews, and field observations. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression techniques to test the effect of business assistance variables on the managerial capacity of MSMEs. The results showed that business mentoring has a significant and positive effect on improving the managerial capacity of MSMEs. Most of the variation in managerial capacity building can be explained by the quality and intensity of mentoring received by businesses. Managerial aspects that experienced significant improvements included business planning, financial management, business evaluation, and human resource development. Assistance that is participatory, contextual, and oriented to real needs has proven to be more effective in encouraging managerial transformation of MSMEs. This study recommends the need to strengthen a sustainable mentoring system, involve multi-stakeholders, and integrate with digitalization training programs to support the growth of village MSMEs in a sustainable and adaptive manner to the challenges of modern markets.

Abstract

Abstract This study is grounded in the paradox of coastal development in Bima and Dompu Regencies, where abundant marine and fisheries resources have not been fully translated into improved coastal community welfare. The research aims to examine the gap between blue economy policy design, sectoral economic performance, and welfare outcomes. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design was employed through in-depth interviews, field observations, policy document analysis, and regional economic data assessment. The findings reveal that the marine and fisheries sector remains the dominant contributor to regional economic output, accounting for 39.7% of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in Bima Regency and 40.4% in Dompu Regency in 2025, while regional economic growth reached 2.82% and 3.44%, respectively. Despite this economic significance, the gains have not been proportionally reflected in coastal welfare, as evidenced by a coastal poverty rate of 14.2%, limited downstream industrialization, and weak integration of local value chains. Although the average monthly income of fishing households increased from IDR 2.15 million to IDR 2.98 million between 2021 and 2025, economic benefits remain concentrated within specific segments of the distribution chain. These findings underscore the need for restructuring blue economy governance through institutional integration, strengthening local value-added production, and promoting more inclusive coastal development to ensure that maritime economic growth can be effectively transformed into sustainable and equitable welfare outcomes. Keywords: Blue Economy, Regional Governance, Coastal Welfare, Economic Performance, Sustainable Development.

Abstract

The growth of digital financial services via the "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) model—such as Shopee PayLater—offers students easy access to financing but also risks fostering consumptive borrowing behavior. This study aims to analyze the impact of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, financial literacy, and hedonistic lifestyle on the borrowing behavior of Universitas Bima Internasional students who use Shopee PayLater. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative method was employed. Data were collected via questionnaires from 105 student users of Shopee PayLater, selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that perceived ease of use has a positive and significant effect on borrowing behavior (β = 0.214; p = 0.021), as does perceived usefulness (β = 0.263; p = 0.005) and hedonistic lifestyle (β = 0.319; p < 0.001); conversely, financial literacy has a negative and significant effect (β = -0.286; p = 0.002). An R² value of 0.650 demonstrates that these four variables explain 65.0% of the variation in students' borrowing behavior. These findings suggest that the convenience and utility of BNPL, along with a hedonistic lifestyle, can increase the propensity to borrow, whereas financial literacy plays a role in mitigating this tendency. The study underscores the importance of strengthening students' financial literacy to ensure that BNPL services are used wisely and responsibly

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of tolerance and patterns of religious social interaction between the Muslim majority and non-Muslim minority (from NTT) in the Padolo neighborhood, Paruga subdistrict, Bima city. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that despite challenges such as limited access to worship infrastructure for minorities and the existence of stereotypes, interfaith social relations in Padolo are very harmonious and collaborative. The main driving factors lie in the practice of local wisdom values such as mutual respect, active tolerance, and a spirit of mutual cooperation (Mbolo Weki), which are manifested in joint activities such as holiday celebrations, community service, and deliberations. Minority groups developed adaptive strategies such as rotating worship services in homes to overcome technical constraints. The conclusion of this study is that harmony in Padolo is not a problem-free situation, but rather the result of the community's ability to constructively manage differences through a local wisdom-based approach and ongoing dialogue. Diversity actually functions as a social glue that transforms differences into a source of strength for creating sustainable peace. These findings can serve as an example of best practices for other regions in managing religious diversity.
