Abstract

The strategy to improve the quality of education in schools is to improve the management of literacy culture. Literacy refers to the process of reading, writing, and speaking to build, integrate, and critique meaning. Many researchers studied teachers' role in improving elementary school students' literacy and forgot how lecturers also have an essential role. This study aims to identify geography education lecturers' role in measuring students' basic literacy and numeracy skills at SDN Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency. Research Methods use descriptive qualitative. Interviews, observation, and descriptive analysis of documents by purposive sampling obtained data. To increase the credibility of research informants using the principle of data saturation. The results of this study show that students' literacy and numeracy skills are still low because teachers' ability in Central Lombok Regency is also considered to have decreased, so the support of parents is considered a servant. This research also shows that the role of geography education lecturers is very significant in measuring literacy and numeracy skills applied to all fields of learning in an integrated manner so that the roles of teachers and lecturers both have an essential role in measuring the literacy and numeracy of elementary school students. Keywords: Lecturer Role, Literacy Ability, Basic Numeracy of Students

Abstract

The essence and existence of culture in its process will gradually change due to various factors, such as the infiltration of global culture. This quantitative study aims to determine the effect of global cultural infiltration on the traditional Sasak marriage system in Lombok Island. The research was conducted in Montong Gamang Village, Kopang District, Central Lombok Regency, with 50 respondents determined by purposive sampling. The research data were obtained through a questionnaire analyzed using the Product Moment Correlation formula. The analysis results show a correlation coefficient (0.639) greater than the value of r-Product Moment (0.279) at a significance level of 5%. This means that global cultural infiltration has a significant effect on the traditional Sasak marriage system in Lombok Island. It is suggested that the tribe can wisely select and accept the foreign culture, be aware of negative influences, and maintain local cultural values. Keywords: Cultural Infiltration; Marriage System; Sasak Tribe Custom

Abstract

Village development in Indonesia following Law No. 6 of 2014 positions Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) as a strategic instrument for fiscal independence. This study aims to examine the relationship between BUMDes performance and Village Original Revenue (PADes) and its implications for community welfare, while considering the legal framework as a foundation. The research employs an associative quantitative approach using secondary data, including BUMDes financial reports, PADes realization, and welfare indicators, analyzed through linear regression and correlation. Findings reveal a significant positive relationship between BUMDes performance and PADes (R² = 0.46; p < 0.05), while PADes shows a moderate correlation with community welfare (r = 0.52). A normative legal analysis indicates that although regulations such as Law No. 6/2014 and Government Regulation No. 11/2021 provide strong legitimacy, implementation at the village level still faces technical and administrative challenges. In conclusion, BUMDes significantly contributes to PADes; however, welfare impacts require affirmative policies in PADes allocation and stronger institutional capacity at the village level.

Abstract

Through the social audit, villagers can control, supervise, and evaluate certain development programs or activities that have been implemented by the village government, because social audit can be positioned as a variant of public participation oriented towards the realization of democratic governance. This critical learning facilitation was held in the context of social awareness to expand the understanding of villagers about social audit techniques based on principles, benefits, and ideal stages while at the same time fostering the commitment of the village government to apply the principles of transparency and accountability in development management, including providing access to information disclosure related to the village planning and budgeting documents so that it can be known by the citizens as a whole. This community service activity involved dozens of residents and the village government officials as participants and was carried out during March 2018 in the Rabakodo Village, Woha District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province by applying special learning methods in the form of various lectures to convey the conceptual substance of social audit that must be understood by program participants, as well as practices to demonstrate the social audit work process that can be directly observed and practised by them. These facilitation activities produce outputs in the form of recommendations from residents to the village government so that (1) public participation in the planning-budgeting process, including the activities in the field of village development, community building, and community empowerment must be provided in large portions by the village government for the sake of democratic and inclusive management of the village development; (2) The village government must act transparently and responsively to the needs of the residents, and prioritize a persuasive approach when facing their demands; and (3) villagers must always actively participate in all stages of the village development management, especially in planning, budgeting, implementing, and monitoring phases.

Abstract

This community service program is an effort to popularize the concept of a Children-Friendly Village (CFV) to the village governments and residents as a medium for maximum attention to issues of childhood development through the creation of a healthy environment and the provision of various comfortable facilities for them, which has been conducted during May 2021 in the Oi Bura Village, Tambora Subdistrict, Bima District, West Nusa Tenggara Province with the main orientation of utilizing participant contributions to encourage “Mainstreaming Children's Rights (MCR)” applications at the village level through providing understanding or elaboration on the conceptual substance of MCR, problem identification of children at the village level, and formulating a road-map for the CFV development strategies according to the partners' capabilities. The success of the MCR strategy in managing the village development is highly dependent on the commitment and participation of all parties in the context of fulfilling children's rights in the Oi Bura Village, which have not met the six eligibility indicators as CFV at all. This reflective learning was effective to achieve the defined goals and will be replicated in other villages in the future.
