Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential competencies that need to be developed from an early age, as they play a vital role in the processes of analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making. Study aimed to develop and examine the effectiveness of the innovative traditional game "Congkalak Edukatif" in stimulating critical thinking and social skills among 5–6-year-old children during Prasiaga Scout activities at TK IT Asshiddiq. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects of this study were children aged 5–6 years participating in Prasiaga Scout activities. The results indicated that the implementation of the Congkalak Edukatif game significantly enhanced children's critical thinking abilities, as evidenced by the increased posttest scores compared to the pretest in the aspects of analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making. Furthermore, this game was also effective in developing children's social skills, such as communication skills, cooperation, sportsmanship, and emotional regulation in social interactions. The enjoyable, socially interactive play experience provided by the Congkalak Edukatif game encouraged children to learn teamwork, understand rules, and build empathy towards their peers. Thus, Congkalak Edukatif can serve as an innovative and effective learning media alternative for improving critical thinking and social skills in early childhood, particularly within Prasiaga Scout activities. This article makes a significant contribution to the development of future science by introducing Congklak media as an innovative media that has been proven to be effective in stimulating critical thinking skills and social skills in early childhood, thus opening a new paradigm in learning practices that integrate aspects of analysis, problem solving, decision making, and social interaction from preschool age.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has succeeded in causing panic in people all over the world. Changes in consumer spending behavior globally occur simultaneously, including in Indonesia. The level of consumer awareness to always increase their immunity by consuming fresh food ingredients also encourages online grocery shopping activity. However, amid pandemic situation, there is a dilemma between frugality in order to maintain consumer household stability or maintain the health of each family member. Research on the impact of COVID-19 on changes in online grocery shopping behavior and seafood consumption for the people of Surabaya is expected to answer the question of whether the impact of COVID-19 on changes in online grocery shopping behavior and whether this has an impact on consumer priorities in consuming seafood. The methodology used in this research is qualitative methods with phenomenological approach, namely through in-depth interviews. Respondents of this study are 8 women who are stay-at-home-mother and career women. These 8 women have responsibilities as decision makers in family spending. The results obtained from this study are the upper middle-income households in Surabaya made shift not only to shop offline, but also online during pandemic Covid-19.  Most of them have added the number of internet gadgets in their home to participate in Study-From-Home method for their children’s school activity. They bought more health supplements, better food ingredients, and fresh ones to maintain their health conditions during Covid times. The seafood consumptions is perceived as one of the ways to build better immunities, thus some of these households have increasing their seafood buying.

Abstract

Metal nanoparticles, especially gold and silver nanoparticles, have been applied in various fields of nanotechnology because of their unique optical properties called localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Metal nanoparticles need capping material to stabilize and protect the metal core. The interaction between capping and metal core affects the physical and chemical properties of metal nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles have a robust extinction coefficient compared to other metals of the same size. In addition, silver nanoparticles have been found to have antimicrobial properties. There has been a lot of research on the coordination between organic molecules with silver metal. However, the study about the coordination between organic molecules on silver nanoparticles has not been studied in detail. For this reason, the synthesis of silver nanoparticles capped by citrate (AgCA) and silver nanoparticles capped by 3-MPA (AgMPA) was optimized in order to form stable colloids. The interaction between capping molecules (citrate and 3-MPA) and silver core was studied experimentally and computationally. In the results, some different vibration peak positions of chemical coordination between free carboxylate and the carboxylate on silver nanoparticles were found, indicating the effect of strong chemical bonding and the effect of localized surface plasmon. Agreement was found between the experimental results and the calculation based on DFT simulation, which shows the same tendencies of vibration peak position. Moreover, colorimetric testing with Biocytin-Avidin was performed as a sensor application in the experiment.
