Abstract

This study analyzes the contribution of entertainment, restaurant, and hotel taxes to the Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of Singkawang City from 2019 to 2023. Using a quantitative associative approach and multiple linear regression, 59 secondary data points were analyzed with SPSS 26. The results show that all three taxes have a positive and significant effect on PAD, with restaurant tax being the dominant contributor and entertainment tax the lowest. Collectively, the three taxes explain 100% of the variation in PAD. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing tourism-related taxes through intensification, extensification, and integrated policies to enhance regional fiscal independence..

Abstract

Kebakaran merupakan salah satu bencana yang sering terjadi akibat kesalahan manusia (human error) atau faktor teknis, yang dapat menyebabkan kerugian materil, trauma, bahkan korban jiwa. Gedung terminal bandara sebagai fasilitas umum dengan tingkat aktivitas tinggi memiliki potensi risiko kebakaran yang tinggi, sehingga dibutuhkan sistem proteksi kebakaran yang andal dan terawat dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi pemeliharaan sistem proteksi kebakaran aktif dan pasif di Gedung Terminal PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Balikpapan berdasarkan peraturan yang berlaku. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung menggunakan checklist, wawancara dengan informan dari unit SMS & K3, Fasilitas, dan ARFF, serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi sistem proteksi kebakaran aktif secara keseluruhan telah memenuhi standar Permen PU No. 26/PRT/M/2008, SNI, dan NFPA, dengan tingkat kepatuhan APAR sebesar 92,3% (kategori baik), dan sistem hidran, detektor, dan alarm kebakaran mencapai tingkat kepatuhan 100%. Sementara itu, sistem proteksi kebakaran pasif menunjukkan kinerja yang baik, dengan jalur evakuasi dan tangga darurat mencapai kepatuhan 100%, pintu keluar darurat 77,8%, dan area berkumpul 80%. Beberapa komponen masih memerlukan perbaikan kecil, khususnya pada fungsi pintu keluar darurat dan keamanan area berkumpul. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi pemeliharaan sistem proteksi kebakaran aktif dan pasif di Gedung Terminal PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Balikpapan cukup baik. Namun, pemeliharaan dan perbaikan berkelanjutan masih diperlukan untuk mencapai kepatuhan optimal dan meningkatkan kesiapan menghadapi potensi kebakaran.

Abstract

This article explores the design and implementation of Gender Fair Education as a counter-feminization of poverty movement in women's schools in Gresik Regency. Based on data from women and gender observers, poverty studies have not paid sufficient attention to the gender dimension of poverty. It was from these data that the expression “women are the poorest of the poor” and the term “feminization of poverty” arose. This article is the result of qualitative-explorative research with a phenomenological approach and data retrieval through observations, interviews, documentation, and focus group discussion. The findings showed that gender-fair education as a counter-feminizationof the poverty movement was designed through the Gender Watch program. It is a women's empowerment program through the establishment of women's schools with gender-fair education materials as the curriculum. The implementation of gender-fair education is manifested through the establishment of women's schools in villages in Gresik Regency. The program like this is important to be replicated in other places as an effort to achieve gender equality and justice.

Abstract

This article examined the strengthening of Aswaja An-Nahdliyah’s understanding as an effort to anticipate radicalism for Islamic education teacher candidates at the Faculty of Tarbiyah, Sunan Ampel State Islamic University Surabaya. The type of this article was qualitative with a Participatory Action Research approach and the method of extracting initial condition data and coaching related to Aswaja An-Nahdliyah material as an effort to anticipate radicalism for Islamic education teacher candidates in the fifth semester of the Academic Year 2021-2022. The results demonstrated that strengthening Aswaja An-Nahdliyah provides an understanding of the map of radical groups and movements; Aswaja An-Nahdliyah teachings and attitudes teach religious moderation as a basis for anticipating and avoiding radicalism teachings and attitudes; Aswaja An-Nahdliyah’s teachings are full of religious tolerance, which helps to block radicalism. This issue is very important considering that even though Sunan Ampel State Islamic University Surabaya, as an Islamic university, is not free from radical infiltration, strengthening Aswaja is necessary to anticipate this, especially for Islamic education teacher candidates.

Abstract

This article departs from the contemporary phenomenon of Islamic radicalism, which frequently manifests in patterns of exclusivism, claims of absolute truth, and the practice of takfir toward other groups. This phenomenon indicates a resemblance to the historical mindset of the Khawarij, particularly in their literal and rigid interpretation of religious texts. The main problem addressed in this study concerns the extent to which the Khawarij mindset remains relevant in shaping contemporary Islamic radicalism, as well as how such patterns are reproduced within current socio-religious contexts. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the construction of Khawarij thought and the expressions of contemporary radicalism, while also identifying the factors that drive the reproduction of these patterns. The research employs a library research method, utilizing a conceptual analytical approach to examine relevant classical and contemporary literature. The findings reveal an epistemological continuity between the Khawarij mindset and certain contemporary radical movements, particularly in terms of narrow textual interpretation, the delegitimization of moderate religious authorities, and the justification of violence in the name of religion. However, in the contemporary context, these patterns are further reinforced by socio-political factors, digital media, and identity crises. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening contextual religious literacy, developing inclusive approaches in Islamic education, and formulating deradicalization strategies grounded in historical and sociological understanding. Such efforts are expected to reduce the reproduction of exclusive mindsets and promote a more moderate and dialogical form of religious expression in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) learning model through the Wordwall platform in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning at SMP Negeri 35 Surabaya. The background of this study stems from the low level of student engagement in IRE learning due to the dominance of conventional methods and the suboptimal integration of technology in the learning process. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with the research subjects consisting of PAI teachers and seventh-grade students. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and field notes, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results show that the application of the TPACK model through Wordwall successfully increased student engagement and motivation to learn. Careful planning, the use of Wordwall's interactive features (such as quizzes, matching games, and random wheels), and collaborative pedagogical strategies created an active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning atmosphere. Despite challenges such as time constraints, digital infrastructure, and variations in students' technological literacy, teachers were able to overcome them through adaptive strategies such as hybrid learning, group role rotation, and collaborative reflection. This study confirms that integrating the TPACK model through Wordwall can be an innovative strategy for transforming PAI learning into interactive, contextual learning that is in line with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study examines three Indonesian national movement organizations : Budi Utomo, Sarekat Islam and Indische partij, which played pivotal roles in Indonesia’s struggle for independence. The research aims to analyze the background of their establishment, visions and missions and contributions to national awakening and the formation of Indonesian identitiy. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, utilizing historical sources such as books, scholarly articles and official documents. The findings reveal that Budi Utomo, focused on education and cultural development, SI emphasized empowering indigenous communities economically through trade, and Indische Partij advocated for cross-ethnic unity in resisting colonialism. These three organizations played complementary roles in laying the foundation of Indonesian nasionalism. The study underscores that despite their different approaches, a shared vision to end colonialism served as the commom thread in their struggles.

Abstract

The strong development of globalization has triggered a shift in cultural values among Generation Z. Ironically, the existence of local culture as a medium for strengthening character education is slowly being eroded by the dominance of Western culture, which is oriented toward consumerist lifestyles, individualism, materialism, and hedonism, widely spread through various online platforms. This research uses a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis design. Data were obtained through observations of scenes, dialogues, and visual symbols in the film Si Sarip Tambak Oso. The data analysis process includes dialogue transcription, thematic coding, data tabulation, and meaning interpretation. Character values in the film Si Sarip Tambak Oso include: bravery, justice, social concern, resistance against tyranny, moral responsibility, steadfastness of principles, sacrifice, and exemplary behavior. The practical implication of this research is to contribute an integrative strategy for strengthening character education through the synthesis of cultural and religious values in the folklore of the film Si Sarip Tambak Oso. However, this research has limitations regarding the technical implementation of cultural character values in Islamic education. This research offers an empirical contribution by positioning folklore not merely as a cultural heritage, but as a strategic educational medium in strengthening the character of Generation Z through the synthesis of local cultural values and religious teachings amidst the challenges of globalization.

Abstract

Research aims: The side effects of company expansion to increase profits lead to climate change and threats to the sustainability of the ecosystem, thus requiring a "go green" movement. Even though sharia banking does not directly fall into the category of companies that pollute, however, if banks finance companies which pollute the environment, then sharia banks also cause environmental damage. This research aims to examine the effect of green banking and corporate  social responsibility (CSR) on profitability in sharia banking in the ASEAN Region. Design/Methodology/Approach: The sample in this study was 20 Sharia banks from 4 countries that released annual reports and  sustainability reports on their respective internet sites during the observation period from 2018 to 2022 using the content analysis method. Research findings: This research finds that green banking has no effect on bank profitability, on the contrary, CSR has a positive effect on bank profitability. Thus, stakeholders can consider the influence  of green banking and CSR variables in making their decisions on the profitability of sharia banks in the ASEAN Region. Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study examines the impact of green banking and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on the profitability of Islamic banks across the ASEAN region using a cross-country sample. Practitioner/Policy implication: The findings offer practical and policy implications by assisting Islamic banks in the ASEAN region to improve profitability through green banking practices, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability disclosures aligned with international standards. They also support regulators, particularly in Indonesia, in developing standardized green banking policies to enhance the long-term performance of Islamic banks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat kepuasan masyarakat terhadap pelayanan publik di DPMPTSP Provinsi Kalimantan Timur menggunakan metode SERVQUAL. Pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dilakukan berdasarkan data sekunder dari Survei Kepuasan Masyarakat (SKM) Semester 1 Tahun 2024 yang mencakup penilaian 283 responden. Data dianalisis dengan memadankan unsur-unsur SKM pada lima dimensi SERVQUAL: tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, dan empathy. Hasil menunjukkan indeks kepuasan sebesar 92,38 (Sangat Baik), dengan dimensi assurance dan empathy memperoleh skor tertinggi, sedangkan dimensi responsiveness, khususnya waktu penyelesaian layanan, menjadi area yang perlu ditingkatkan. Pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa faktor humanis seperti keramahan dan transparansi berkontribusi besar pada kepuasan masyarakat. Kesimpulan menyatakan bahwa meskipun secara umum layanan DPMPTSP Provinsi Kalimantan Timur dinilai sangat baik, masih dibutuhkan peningkatan efisiensi waktu dan kelengkapan sarana pendukung untuk memaksimalkan kualitas layanan.
