Abstract

Background: Indonesia is the world's second most disaster-prone country and faces significant climate change impacts. West Sumatra has high malnutrition, moderate food insecurity, and disaster risk. Mapping climate vulnerability is critical for mitigation and adaptation. Objective: Building on this need, this study aims to map the vulnerability of malnutrition due to climate change in West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Methods: The research employed an analytical descriptive approach, utilizing secondary data from official agencies. Sources included the Central Statistics Agency of West Sumatra Province, the Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology Agency, the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey, and the Indonesian Health Survey from 2019 to 2023. The data covered three vulnerability indicators: exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. These were analyzed by the Weighted Product method and classified into five categories of vulnerability (very low, low, medium, high, very high) using the Equal Interval method. Results were presented as thematic maps using ArcGIS software. Results: The analysis revealed that 5.3% of areas had very high vulnerability to malnutrition linked to climate change. Meanwhile, 10.5% were high, 26.3% medium, 42.1% low, and 15.8% very low. The coastal regions of Mentawai, West Pasaman, and South Coast were the most vulnerable. Vulnerability was determined by exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. Regions with higher vulnerability had greater sensitivity and lower adaptive capacity. Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems are an important component of coastal areas that have strategic ecological functions, including acting as natural coastal protection from abrasion, providing habitat and seeds for fisheries, and absorbing carbon that plays a role in mitigating climate change. However, the existence of mangrove ecosystems in various coastal areas of Indonesia, including Pariaman City, faces serious pressure due to human activities and weak coastal area governance. The problem formulation in this study includes the factors causing problems in the mangrove ecosystem in Pariaman City and how the central role of coastal area governance can strengthen the ecological function of mangroves as coastal protection, providing seeds for fisheries, and absorbing carbon. This study aims to analyze the role of management and protection of coastal ecosystems, especially mangrove forests, in the governance of the coastal area of Pariaman City. The research methodology uses a literature review method with a descriptive analysis approach, which examines 15 selected articles. The results of the study indicate partial to significant degradation of mangrove areas due to land conversion, reclamation, logging, and industrial and household pollution. Human pressures such as shrimp pond expansion, coastal infrastructure development, and land reclamation also exacerbate abrasion and reduce the productivity of the mangrove ecosystem. On the other hand, mangroves have significant potential as an instrument for climate change adaptation and mitigation through increasing blue carbon and coastal rehabilitation. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of community-based governance policies, mangrove restoration programs, and cross-sector partnerships to maintain the sustainability of Pariaman City's coastal ecosystem.

Abstract

The growing influence of globalization and digitalization has intensified moral and religious challenges in elementary education, requiring schools to adopt more systematic approaches to character formation . In Indonesia, the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) has been introduced as a national framework to strengthen students’ character, particularly religious values, within the Merdeka Curriculum . However, existing studies indicate that character education initiatives often remain symbolic when they are not supported by effective school management. This study examines how educational management practices shape the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile in strengthening students’ religious character in a public elementary school. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, teachers, and students (50%). The findings reveal that coherent planning, clear organizational structures, consistent implementation through daily routines and project-based learning, and reflective evaluation play a critical role in facilitating the internalization of religious character. Leadership commitment, teacher exemplarity, and parental involvement further support program sustainability. The study concludes that strengthening religious character through the Pancasila Student Profile is not merely a curricular effort but an organizational achievement shaped by school management practices. These findings contribute to educational management and character education literature by demonstrating how national character policy can be operationalized effectively at the school level.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease requiring long-term pharmacotherapy and is frequently accompanied by comorbidities, which may increase the risk of drug-related problems (DRPs), particularly in outpatient settings. This study aimed to describe the DRP profile related to antidiabetic therapy among T2DM outpatients during July–December 2025 and to review patient characteristics, medication patterns, glycemic control, and potential drug interactions. A retrospective cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted using purposive sampling based on completeness of medical records/prescriptions. The sample included 100 T2DM outpatients. Most patients were aged 46–55 years (56%) and female (61%), with hypertension (39%), neuropathy (20%), and CKD (17%) as the most common comorbidities. Antidiabetic monotherapy was used in 59% of patients and combination therapy in 41%; metformin was the most frequently used single agent (25%), while gliquidone + metformin was the most common combination (16%). Glycemic control was generally suboptimal, with HbA1c ≥9.0% in 59% and fasting plasma glucose >180 mg/dL in 47% of patients; the most common disease duration was 5–10 years (55%). A total of 29 DRP cases (29%) were identified, predominantly drug interactions (18%), followed by adverse drug reactions (5%), overdosing (4%), and underdosing (2%). The most frequent interactions involved antidiabetic agents with cardiovascular drugs, particularly insulin with beta-blockers and ACE inhibitors. In conclusion, DRPs were present among T2DM outpatients with drug interactions as the dominant category, highlighting the need for regular medication review, glucose monitoring, and patient education to improve therapy safety and effectiveness.

Abstract

The Lube Oil Cooler Fan is an essential component in the lubrication system of a gas turbine because it maintains lubricating oil temperature within a safe operating range. This study aims to analyze the thermal performance and effectiveness of the Lube Oil Cooler Fan on Gas Turbine GT 1.1 at PT XYZ. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using field observation data and heat transfer calculations. The analysis was conducted through the Log Mean Temperature Difference method and heat exchanger effectiveness approach by considering fluid temperature changes, mass flow rates, thermophysical properties, flow characteristics, convective heat transfer coefficients, overall heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer rate, and thermal effectiveness. The results show that the lubricating oil temperature decreased from 61°C to 49°C, while the cooling air temperature increased from 32°C to 53.5°C. The tube side heat transfer coefficient was 40.71 W/m²°C, the shell side heat transfer coefficient was 308 W/m²°C, and the overall heat transfer coefficient was 30.61 W/m²°C. The calculated heat transfer rate was 992.57 W or approximately 0.993 kW. The lubricating oil was identified as the minimum heat capacity fluid, with a heat capacity rate of 33.13 kW/°C. The thermal effectiveness of the Lube Oil Cooler Fan was 41.4%, indicating that the cooler was able to perform its cooling function, although its performance remained moderate. Routine monitoring, stable airflow control, and periodic cleaning are recommended to improve thermal performance.
