Abstract

Global environmental concerns requiring excellent air quality have prompted the development of a variety of eco-friendly energy sources. Hydrogen gas is an environmentally friendly option that may be created using an electrolysis device that converts water into hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2). In this study, a dry cell electrolyzer with a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) membrane was used as a separator between two stainless steel 316 electrodes to generate a high hydrogen yield. The hydrogen gas production from the dry cell electrolyzer was determined using gas chromatography. The results showed that using a KOH electrolyte and a PVA membrane considerably enhanced the hydrogen gas composition. Hydrogen gas compositions after electrolysis using a dry cell electrolyzer without a PVA membrane and KOH electrolyte concentrations of 0 M, 0.04 M, 0.07 M, and 0.11 M being 13.70%, 25.10%, 32.50%, and 15.60%, respectively. With a PVA membrane, the hydrogen compositions were 71.50%, 89.10%, 80.50%, and 84.60%, respectively. The results of these experiments show that the most hydrogen gas was produced utilizing a dry cell electrolyzer with a PVA membrane and a 0.04 M KOH electrolyte concentration. When a PVA membrane and a KOH electrolyte are utilized in electrolysis, the hydrogen gas composition improves significantly compared to when either is utilized.

Abstract

Indonesian aquaculture cultivation production of catfish has been growing faster than other fish. It is a potential source of fish oil and contains polyunsaturated fatty acids that have health benefits. The objective of this study was to perform physicochemical characterization and fatty acid profile of catfish oil. This study used fish oil extracted from the head and the flesh of catfish using dry rendering with a mechanic press. The result showed that catfish flesh oil (CFO) and catfish head oil (CHO) were significantly different parameters (p<0.05) in terms of physicochemical characteristics including acid value, peroxide value, iodine value, and saponification value. The best characteristics are catfish flesh oil than catfish head oil for acid value, peroxide value, iodine value, and saponification value following the number is 2.17 mg KOH/g, 5.15 meqO2/kg, 76.13 I2/100 g, 175.86 mg KOH/g. The predominant fatty acids were oleic, palmitic, and linoleic acids. These catfish oils are found suitable for consumption for beneficial health effects.

Abstract

Fish is a product with high nutritional content, and the development of fish oil has made it easier for consumers to consume. High-quality fish oil can be a target for adulteration, such as with vegetable oils like palm oil. FTIR spectroscopy was developed for the authentication of bawal fish oil (BFO) from palm oil (PO). Bawal fish oil and palm oil were prepared in binary mixtures with concentrations from 0-100%, resulting in 21 mixtures. The oil was directly measured by attenuated total reflectance (ATR) spectral measurement in the mid-infrared region (4000-600 cm-1). The results were combined with linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and multivariate calibration, such as PLSR or PCR. The results showed that LDA could make clear discrimination between bawal fish oil, palm oil, and their mixtures without any misclassification observed. Multivariate calibration with PLSR using the first derivative spectrum provided the best model for the relationship between actual and predicted FTIR values. At this conditions, the R2 values for the calibration and validation models obtained were 0.9966 and 0.9969, with RMSEC and RMSEP values of 0.0249 and 0.0248, respectively. Therefore, FTIR spectroscopy combined with LDA and PLSR is an effective method for authenticating bawal fish oil from palm oil.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an analytical method using Real-time PCR and a specific primer to analyze bovine DNA in meatballs, addressing the issue of non-halal meat being used in halal meatballs. Real-time PCR enables rapid, specific, and sensitive detection, allowing for qualitative and quantitative identification of species in processed products. The research involved designing specific primers for bovine DNA using IDT software, followed by DNA isolation and testing for various parameters such as specifications, linearity, limit of detection, efficiency, and repeatability. The results demonstrated that the primer D-Loop 922 (forward: 5-ATTACCATGCCGCGTGAA-3', Reverse: 5'-GATGAGATGGCCCTGAAGAAA-3'), designed and tested in silico using Primer-BLAST software from NCBI, effectively identified bovine DNA in both fresh meat and meatballs at an optimum annealing temperature of 59.5°C. The real-time PCR method utilizing the D-loop 922 primer successfully amplified bovine DNA in both bovine samples and bovine meatballs at a minimum concentration of 1 ng, with coefficients of variation (CV) of 0.20% for bovine DNA and 0.22% for bovine meatballs. Consequently, the D-loop 922 primer met the testing criteria and can be utilized to authenticate the halal status of meatball products, supporting the implementation of Law No. 33 of 2014 regarding halal certification.

Abstract

Para siswa perlu menggunakan strategi membaca dalam membaca teks. Ada strategi membaca untuk meningkatkan pemahaman bacaan. Reading Speed digunakan sebagai salah satu strategi untuk mengajar membaca. Ini adalah strategi yang memiliki beberapa prosedur untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan melalui dua tahapan yaitu, persiapan dan pelaksanaan program inti melalui penyuluhan dan diskusi serta FGD. Dalam metode ini peserta penyuluhan didampingi oleh pemateri. Pemateri menjelaskan semua bagian-bagian materi pada peserta penyuluhan. Setelah semua peserta diberi materi oleh masing-masing pemateri yang telah dibagi. Kemudian dilakukan pemutaran edukasi tentang Peningkatan Reading Speed. Hasil dari kegiatan penyuluhan dan praktek dapat berjalan dengan baik. Tingkat pemahaman para peserta rata-rata naik 70% dalam memahami materi penyuluhan. Hal ini dapat diliat dari hasil evaluasi dan keaktifan peserta dalam kegiatan penyuluhan.

Abstract

Fenomena code-mixing telah lama menarik minat para sarjana yang meneliti apa yang memicu terjadinya peristiwa tersebut. Code-mixing sering terjadi dalam suatu proses komunikasi. Beberapa orang menggunakan bahasa Inggris untuk menggantikan atau mencampur kode-kode bahasa dalam suatu proses komunikasi. Perlu untuk mendapatkan lebih banyak informasi menurut orang yang akrab dengan bahasa Inggris saat berbicara. Fenomena code-mixing ini akan terjadi jika lingkungan mendukung penggunaan bilingualisme. Solusi yang bisa ditawarkan untuk permasalahan English Speaking Skill dan Self-Confidence di SMN 02 Long Ikis adalah melakukan sosialisasi dan edukasi tentang bagaimana meningkatan kemampuan speaking menggunakan Code Mixing. Abstract

Natural or organic food, the waste produced can of course be recycled as a form of further benefit. This organic waste has many benefits as long as it is managed properly. Eco enzymes are solutions of complex organic substances produced from the fermentation process of organic residues, sugar and water. This Eco-enzyme liquid is dark brown in color and has a strong sour or fresh aroma. This time, community service is carried out through training. Regarding Eco-Enzyme, it is felt that it is very necessary because of the benefits of Eco-Enzyme itself, apart from that, the other most important thing is regarding the ingredients used which are easy to obtain, for example, fruit peels and vegetable waste that are still good and fresh. , brown sugar and also clean water. Participants listened to presentations from resource persons regarding the benefits and also how to make Eco-Enzyme as well as the materials needed followed by the practice of making it.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure and each of its pillar on the firm performance using EBIT as the proxy. Sustainability report, which is a form of firm responsibility, can be a company strategy in attracting the attention of stakeholders. This study incorporates dependent variable (environmental disclosure, social disclosure, governance disclosure, and ESG disclosure), independent variable (firm perfomance), and control variables (leverage and listed years).The population in this study comprises non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019-2021. The sampling was carried out through purposive sampling, resulting in a total of 186 research samples.  The analysis method employed in this study is panel regression analysis.The findings of this study indicate that ESG disclosure as measured through the ESG score has a positive influence on firm performance Meanwhile, when measured individually, social disclosure and governance disclosure also has a positive influence on firm performance, but environmental disclosure does not have an influence on firm performance.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of audit committee chair characteristics, consisting of gender, expertise, multiple positions and tenure, on decisions regarding auditor choice, audit fees and audit quality. The sample used in this research is non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2019-2022 period. The total final sample used in this research was 781 firm-year observations. Sample selection was carried out using a purposive sampling method with predetermined conditions and criteria. In addition, the control variables used include audit committee size, gender of audit committee members, firm size, leverage, profitability, and company losses. The analytical methods used in this research are logistic regression analysis and multiple regression analysis.The results of this research found that the financial expertise of the audit committee chairman has a negative effect on audit quality. Furthermore, the results of this research also show that the expertise of the audit committee chair influences the selection of auditors for the company and the determination of audit fees. In addition, audit committee size, company size, and leverage have a positive effect on auditor selection and audit fee determination. Profitability only influences auditor selection.

Abstract

The focus of this study was to evaluate the influence of taxes, retribution, General Allocation Fund (DAU), and Special Allocation Fund (DAK), on the government's capital spending in the province of Banten.   Building upon previous research limitations, the study included the geographical area as a moderating factor in the connection between the independent and dependent variables. Utilizing a quantitative descriptive method and secondary data regression analysis of the budget reports from the local government of Banten spanning 2018 to 2022, this research delved into the collective analysis of the relationship between local revenue variables and capital expenditure. The research specifically examined how the area's expanse influenced this relationship.The results suggested that municipal taxes, retribution, and special allocation funds had no significant impact on capital spending.   Nevertheless, the General Allocation Fund had a significant effect on capital expenditure to some extent.   Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that the size of the region has a significant role in influencing the link between local revenue factors and capital expenditure at the same time.
