Abstract

Bullying remains a social issue in elementary schools and negatively affects students’ social development and character formation. Preventive efforts are therefore required through educational strategies integrated into classroom learning. This community service program aimed to increase anti-bullying awareness and strengthen students’ social character through social studies (IPS) based learning at SDN 03 Konda. The program employed an educational and participatory approach consisting of preparation, socialization activities, reinforcement through social studies instruction, and evaluation. During the socialization stage, students were introduced to bullying concepts, various forms, and harmful effects on social interaction. These ideas were reinforced by integrating social values such as empathy, respect, cooperation, and responsibility into learning activities. Results indicated improved student understanding of bullying, awareness of respectful behavior, and positive changes in peer interaction. Learning activities connecting social studies content with everyday social experiences promoted meaningful learning and supported internalization of positive social values. In addition, the program strengthened teachers’ roles as facilitators of character education and supported sustainability of anti-bullying values in daily classroom practices. Overall, socialization of anti-bullying awareness through social studies based learning proved effective for creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive elementary school environment.

Abstract

The intrauterine device (IUD) is a highly effective long-acting contraceptive method; however, its utilization in primary healthcare settings remains relatively low. One of the key factors influencing decision-making regarding IUD use is husbands’ support. This study aimed to systematically identify and synthesize the role of husbands’ support in the utilization of IUD contraception at primary healthcare centers (Puskesmas). This study employed a narrative literature review with quantitative evidence synthesis, conducted systematically in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Literature searches were performed in Google Scholar, Garuda, SINTA, and university repositories for articles published between 2021 and 2025. Of the 66 articles initially identified, title and abstract screening followed by full-text eligibility assessment based on predefined inclusion criteria resulted in six cross-sectional studies being included in the analysis. The findings demonstrated that all reviewed studies reported a statistically significant association between husbands’ support and IUD use (p < 0.05), with odds ratios ranging from 1.214 to 7.713. The variation in effect sizes indicates that husbands’ support functions as a reinforcing factor to a key determinant in contraceptive decision-making, depending on social context and regional characteristics. It can be concluded that husbands’ support is a critical determinant of IUD utilization in primary healthcare centers. These findings underscore the strategic role of primary healthcare centers in strengthening couple-based family planning programs through education and counseling interventions that actively involve husbands.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) and tuberculosis (TB) are chronic diseases that remain major public health problems and frequently occur concurrently as DM–TB comorbidity. This condition not only worsens patients’ physical status but also affects psychological aspects, particularly stress levels and illness perception. Patients living with two chronic diseases simultaneously tend to experience stress due to long-term treatment burdens, complications, and demands for therapeutic adherence. High stress levels may influence how patients perceive their illness, reduce motivation, and shape negative illness perceptions, which can ultimately hinder optimal disease management. This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress level and illness perception among patients with DM–TB comorbidity in Gorontalo City. This study employed a quantitative, cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of patients with DM–TB comorbidity undergoing treatment at several community health centers in Gorontalo City. Stress level was measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), while illness perception was assessed using the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (BIPQ). Data were analyzed using statistical tests to determine the relationship between stress level and illness perception. The results showed that most patients experienced moderate to high stress levels and tended to have negative illness perceptions. Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between stress level and illness perception among patients with DM–TB comorbidity. The higher the patients’ stress levels, the more negative their perception of the illness. It can be concluded that psychological aspects play an essential role in the management of patients with DM–TB comorbidity; therefore, health interventions should integrate clinical and psychosocial approaches to improve treatment adherence and patients' quality of life.

Abstract

The present study examined creativity in shaping English-language children's stories through instructions to arrange random pictures into narratives. The objectives of this study were to identify, i.e. i) significant differences in creativity in applying pragmatic discourse to narrative pictures between illustrator and non illustrator writers; ii) how pragmatic discourse was applied to narrative pictures by both groups of writers; and iii) how narrative pictures were arranged. A total of 40 college students consisting of 20 illustrator writers and 20 non illustrator writers participated in this study. The present study employed a mixed-method sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were obtained from creativity tests, specifically the element of fluency associated with pragmatic discourse by Blum Kulka. Quantitative data analysis employed non-parametric tests, specifically the Mann-Whitney U test. The quantitative analysis was supported by qualitative data from closed-ended questionnaires and interview results. The pragmatic approach through picDRT, in conjunction with Blum Kulka's pragmatic discourse, served to elucidate the problem. The findings indicated that implicature as a component of pragmatic discourse, exhibited substantial disparities between both groups of writers; with the illustrator writers demonstrating a higher degree of dominance compared to the non-illustrator writers. However, although not significantly different, the non-illustrator writers can be more dominant in terms of adaptation to context. Furthermore, the non-illustrator writers tend to prioritize narration and continuity-related coherence relations more than the illustrator writers.

Abstract

Penujak Village, located in Central Lombok Regency, is known as the oldest pottery production center on Lombok Island. Supported by skilled and experienced artisans, Penujak pottery is recognized for its high artistic value and serves as a symbol of local cultural identity. However, the production process still relies on manual techniques that are time-consuming, resulting in low productivity, inconsistent shapes, and unstable quality. Therefore, a sustainable development strategy is required. The purpose of this program is to introduce innovations through the use of the Automatic Pottery Wheel and Electric Spray Gun to improve the efficiency, quality, and production consistency without diminishing the artistic and traditional values of Penujak pottery. The activities were carried out through socialization and training sessions aimed at local artisans in Penujak Village. The implementation process consisted of three main stage: socialization, demonstration, and mentoring. The results of the program showed that the introduction of the Automatic Pottery Wheel and Electric Spray Gun had a significant impact on improving the efficiency and quality of pottery production. The time required to produce simple pottery items such as plates, which previously took around ten minutes manually, was reduced to only five minutes using the automatic tool, while maintaining better shape consistency. The Electric Spray Gun also produced more even coloring without covering the distinctive traditional motifs of Penujak pottery. Furthermore, this program successfully increased artisans’ motivation to continue innovating, enhanced product competitiveness, and fostered the growth of the local creative economy in Penujak Village. Thus, the program has successfully achieved its objectives. The Automatic Pottery Wheel proved effective in saving time through stable rotation that accelerates the shaping process, while the Electric Spray Gun produced smoother and more uniform coloring compared to manual methods.

Abstract

A good management strategy for zakat maal funds will create public trust so that they will be encouraged to channel their funds to zakat amil bodies rather than channeling them to mustahik. This direct distribution is closer to consumptive use, thereby somewhat obscuring productive purposes. But in reality, the management of zakat in mosques is not yet running properly, this can be seen from the recording process, annual data collection as well as supervision by competent people. The problem formulation for this research is: 1) What is the Zakat Maal Management Strategy at the Al-Mustaqim Mosque, Noman Village, North Musi Rawas Regency? 2) What are the inhibiting and supporting factors for the Al-Mustaqim Al-Mustaqim Mosque, Noman Village, North Musi Rawas Regency. In this research, an approach known as a qualitative approach was used. This type of research is qualitative research. Research is descriptive research in the form of written or spoken words from people and the behavior observed is in accordance with facts in the field. The research results show. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the community's understanding of the obligation to pay zakat in Noman Village is lacking. The lack of public understanding is due to the lack of socialization and information obtained from the Zakat Amil Agency, causing the public to not know what zakat maal is. The community's understanding of the Amil Zakat Agency in Noman Village is that the community only knows that there is an obligation to pay zakat fitrah but does not understand about zakatr maal in detail. Only some people understand about zakat maal, some even don't know about zakat maal and its calculations. Most people do not know how to calculate the required zakat maal for zakat paid. The lack of understanding from the public is due to the lack of information obtained from the Amil Zakat Agency and media such as television, print media and social media which causes the public to not know what the Amil Zakat Agency is and what zakat must be paid.

Abstract

This study aims to design an Augmented Reality (AR)-based catalog as a visual branding strategy for Dukuh Demping Tourism Village, Karanganyar. Despite its strong potential in ritual-based cultural tourism, Dukuh Demping has not yet been optimally developed due to the lack of integrated promotional media. In the post-pandemic context, there is a growing need for interactive and accessible digital-based promotion. This research adopts a practice-based research approach within visual communication design. Data were collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including the local tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) and community members. The design process follows the Alberta Teachers reflective cycle (planning, action, observing, reflecting) and is integrated with visual branding principles by Marty Neumeier. The result of this study is an AR catalog titled Lirikan Demping, which integrates printed media with interactive digital content accessible via Instagram without requiring additional applications. The catalog features 3D visualizations, bilingual layout, and QR-based access to cultural performances, creating an experiential branding approach that enhances user engagement. Additionally, Grono Ireng videos also produced and posted in official YouTube channel of Tinthir Pokdarwis as branding strategy that carries virtual tourism messages. In conclusion, the integration of physical and digital media offers an effective and accessible visual branding strategy for tourism villages. However, the sustainability of AR technology remains a limitation, particularly due to dependency on third-party platforms. Future development should consider more sustainable alternatives such as WebAR.
