Abstract

The independent curriculum is an offer to reconstruct the education system freely in accordance with existing resources as the goal of change and progress of the nation in order to adapt to the challenges of globalization. This study aims to find out the difficulties of educators and students in implementing the independent curriculum in Physics learning. The type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach, purposive sampling so that 3 educators from the fields of physics, chemistry, and biology were obtained, as well as 36 students of class XI phase F1 (Physics Specialization) SMAN 13 Semarang. Questionnaire research instruments with Likert scale, interview guidelines and observations. The analysis procedure of this study uses the Miles and Huberman version, the student questionnaire is analyzed using a percentage calculation based on a predetermined category, the interview data is concluded in the analysis of conformity with observation data. The results of the study show that SMAN 13 Semarang is feasible to implement the independent curriculum, facilities and infrastructure can support learning with the implementation of the independent curriculum well. However, educators experience difficulties in several parts of the learning process, namely in  the preparation of the administration of the Independent curriculum such as teaching modules, P5 programs, IT-based learning media and coordinating time during learning. The difficulties also experienced by students of class XI phase F1 in the implementation of the independent learning curriculum of physics learning at SMAN 13 Semarang from the learning implementation factor of 41.7%, the difficulty in understanding physics learning got a percentage of 66.67%, which means that it is quite agreeable to the difficulty of learning physics. The difficulty of learning physics is seen from the learning process where students think that educators are less varied in terms of learning methods 25%, educators are less creative 36.11%.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning is essential for students to be proactive in their learning, and creative thinking is crucial for overcoming challenges and generating innovative solutions. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has been proposed as an effective method for teaching subjects such as renewable energy, allowing students to apply concepts in a real-world context. However, challenges persist in implementing PjBL, including student adaptation and lack of structured materials. This study aims to assess the impact of the PjBL model on students' self-regulated learning and creative thinking, identify factors that promote self-regulated learning, and understand barriers to developing creative thinking. Conducted at SMA Negeri 11 Sarolangun, this study involved two experimental classes and one control class. Using a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design, this research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. Data were collected using questionnaires, creative thinking tests, and interviews, and analyzed using parametric statistical tests and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that PjBL had a significant positive impact on self-regulated learning and creative thinking, with a supportive learning environment being a key factor. The t-test results showed a significant effect on self-regulated learning (0.002) and creative thinking (0.04), both below the 0.05 threshold. Effect size analysis indicated a high impact on self-regulated learning and moderate impact on creative thinking variable.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted to enhance the competencies of elementary school teachers in utilizing the innovative teaching aid Digital Image Creator for Optical Microscope (DIGICOM) to strengthen science learning. The program was motivated by the limited availability of digital microscopes in schools and the low ability of teachers to adapt optical learning technologies. The main objective was to train teachers from the Imam Bonjol Teacher Working Group (KKG) in Banjarnegara Regency to modify conventional optical microscopes into digital microscopes integrated with imaging systems. The training was carried out online through a series of activities including lectures, discussions, camera adapter design workshops, DIGICOM implementation, and mentoring with follow-up evaluations. A total of 51 teachers actively participated in the practice sessions and group projects. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ conceptual understanding, technical skills, and motivation to implement DIGICOM in science learning. More than 85% of participants were able to operate the modified tool successfully and apply it in their schools. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of DIGICOM is an effective educational innovation to improve the quality of science learning in elementary schools and strengthen teachers’ digital literacy in science education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze trends, directions, and research findings highlighting the relationship between technology utilization, digital literacy, and learning motivation in the context of modern education. The method used was a systematic literature review, referring to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Of the 1,195 articles identified through various databases and research registers, 53 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth using a descriptive and thematic approach. The study results indicate that digital literacy plays a crucial mediating factor in optimizing the use of technology to enhance student learning motivation. The use of digital media, online learning platforms, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology has been shown to strengthen student engagement, increase curiosity, and foster learning independence. Furthermore, the application of technology also encourages the formation of a flexible and learner-centered learning ecosystem. This study recommends strengthening digital literacy, improving teachers' pedagogical and digital competencies, providing supporting infrastructure, and implementing differentiated learning strategies oriented toward motivation, creativity, and active student participation in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the literature on the implementation of interactive learning innovations in the 2020–2025 period and provide practical recommendations for their implementation in schools. The study used a systematic literature review approach with reference to the PRISMA framework. Data were collected from various databases and scientific sources, with a total of 1,219 articles identified. The selection process was carried out through screening, feasibility assessment, and quality evaluation, resulting in 65 relevant articles for further analysis. The study findings indicate that the use of digital technology, the implementation of project-based learning models, gamification strategies, and collaborative platforms consistently improve student learning engagement by increasing intrinsic motivation, interaction, and collaboration among students. However, this study also identified several obstacles, such as limited technological facilities, teacher readiness to integrate learning technology, and variations in students' adaptability to digital systems. Therefore, ongoing training for teachers, institutional policy support, and the integration of technology-based pedagogy into the curriculum are needed to create a more participatory, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to review the effectiveness of differentiated learning based on learning styles in increasing interest in learning science through a systematic literature review. The research method used the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach, in which 1,264 initial articles were identified through various international and national databases, then screened through stages of eliminating duplication, screening based on title and abstract relevance, and feasibility testing based on full content. From this selection, 76 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth. The results of the study indicate that differentiated learning can significantly increase student interest in learning by increasing intrinsic motivation, active involvement in the learning process, and creating an inclusive and responsive learning environment to individual needs. In addition, differentiated learning is in line with the principles of the Independent Curriculum which focuses on personalized and flexible learning, thus providing opportunities for students to learn according to their styles and needs. Therefore, it is recommended that elementary school teachers implement differentiated learning strategies in a planned and sustainable manner by considering the variety of students' learning styles. This step is expected to optimize interest, motivation, and the quality of science learning, so that learning becomes more meaningful, enjoyable, and relevant for each student.

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran fisika memiliki permasalahan karena peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari dan memahami konsep-konsep fisika yang bersifat abstrak, akibat kurang terealisasikannya atau visualisasi terhadap konsep tersebut. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif sebagai perantara yang dapat membantu pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran fisika materi fluida dinamis berbasis Scratch guna meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Tujuan spesifik dari penelitian ini meliputi: (1) mengembangkan media pembelajaran dan mengetahui karakteristik media pembelajaran fisika materi fluida dinamis berbasis Scratch, (2) mengetahui tingkat kelayakan media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berdasarkan penilaian ahli, serta (3) mengetahui tingkat keefektivan media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari hasil pretest posttest peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE dan pendekatan mixed method. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI-8 SMA Negeri 15 Semarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Scratch memiliki karakteristik sebagai simulasi interaktif berbasis game. Media ini dinyatakan sangat layak berdasarkan validasi ahli, dan terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik, terlihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar. Media ini juga memudahkan proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran berbasis Scratch layak digunakan sebagai alat bantu interaktif untuk memahami materi fluida dinamis secara lebih konkret dan menarik. Penelitian selajutnyaa diharapkan dapat menambahkan fitur interaktif dan dapat menyesuaikan jumlah pertemuan penelitian sehingga hasil dapat tercapai lebih optimal.

Abstract

The rapid integration of digital tools in primary education necessitates a robust pedagogical framework to optimize student engagement. This study aims to systematically review the impact of Canva-based learning media combined with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on the learning outcomes of elementary school students. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, 25 high-quality national and international journals were analyzed based on thematic relevance and methodological rigor. The findings indicate that Canva catalyzes visual literacy and student interaction, while the PjBL model fosters a constructive environment for the development of critical and creative skills. The synergy between these two components significantly enhances cognitive outcomes and 21st-century skills, including collaboration and problem-solving. This research contributes to the discourse on digital pedagogy by highlighting how visual-centric tools can bridge the gap between abstract concepts and project execution in early childhood education. Practically, this study provides a strategic framework for elementary teachers to design technology-integrated curricula that are both interactive and goal-oriented. Ultimately, the integration of Canva and PjBL offers a transformative strategy to elevate the quality of digital-based learning in elementary settings.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has accelerated innovation in learning media, particularly in elementary science education where developing higher-order thinking is critical. This PRISMA-guided systematic literature review examines the effectiveness of Android-based learning media in enhancing elementary students’ critical thinking. Twenty-five peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 were selected from Google Scholar, SINTA, and Scopus. Included studies comprised quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods designs and were appraised for quality. Findings show that Android-based media, including educational games, interactive multimedia, augmented reality applications, and e-modules generally improve engagement and learning outcomes. However, only about one third of the studies explicitly measured critical thinking indicators such as analysis, evaluation, and problem solving, revealing a persistent gap between technological innovation and cognitive assessment. The review highlights pedagogical integration, offline access, and teacher readiness as key factors. Overall, Android-based media present a flexible, accessible option for 21st-century elementary science education with implications for instructional design, policy, and future research.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools continues to face challenges in strengthening students’ critical thinking, creativity, and active engagement. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to analyze the implementation of the Problem Posing model in mathematics learning from 2020 to 2025, following the PRISMA stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. A total of 25 national and international articles were reviewed based on publication year, context, research focus, and reported outcomes. The findings show that the Problem Posing model consistently improves students’ conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity, while also enhancing motivation and active participation in learning. Its effectiveness increases when integrated with real-life contexts, digital media, and collaborative strategies that foster metacognitive reflection. Nonetheless, challenges such as limited instructional time, teacher readiness, and the absence of standardized creativity assessment tools remain. Overall, the evidence demonstrates that the Problem Posing model is an innovative and relevant approach aligned with the Independent Curriculum, offering strong potential for developing essential 21st-century competencies among elementary school students.
