Abstract

The objectives of the study are to determine (1) the achievement of standard facilities and infrastructure for vocational high school in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, (2) the supporting factors for achieving the standard of facilities and infrastructure, and (3) the inhibiting factors for achieving the standard of facilities and infrastructure. This study employed an evaluation research method with a survey approach. The research sample was six vocational high schools in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which was chosen through purposive sampling, taking into Cluster 1, Cluster 2, and Cluster 3. Data collection techniques used were Focused Group Discussion techniques, questionnaires, documents, observations, and interviews. The validity of the questionnaire instrument used expert validation. Analysis of quantitative data was conducted through descriptive analysis techniques and qualitative data with interactive analysis models. The results of the study show that (1) the standard of facilities shows that the average school data has met facilities and infrastructure standards, (2) the supporting factors for achieving the standard of facilities and infrastructure are (a) the principal's policy in developing facilities and infrastructure, (b) government support through programs to develop and achieve national education standards, (c) community support through school committees, (d) education board support, and (3) the inhibiting factors for achieving facilities and infrastructure standard are: (a) the lack of teacher media innovation developed in vocational high school; (b) the lack of maximization and maintenance of infrastructure in vocational high school; (c) the lack of support in classrooms and workshops, especially in the connectivity aspect.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The method used is qualitative method. Research aims: (1) the profile of teachers who have difficulty, (2) factors – factors that cause difficulties teachers, (3) the similarity of difficulties teachers in developing a learning device, (4) the impact of the factors that lead to teacher trouble, (5) a teacher's efforts in developing a learning device. Results of the study include a profile of teachers examined there were seven teachers live in Yogyakarta, the difficulty factor of teachers in developing a learning device on a promissory note and prota clashed with hours of teaching, the RPP does not match field, the limited infrastructure, the similarity of difficulties teachers develop learning devices: the time the making of RPP, the limited infrastructure, the impact posed namely teachers less ready in the delivery of the learning material, not optimal , work done: MGMP, participation and training. Abstract

Tourism has become a leading sector for Bali Province, especially Karangasem. Karangasem Regency continues to improve itself by continuing to develop tourism potential that has both the potential of nature, culture and customs. Bali Provincial Government in 2015-2018 through the Bali Mandara Volume II Program launched the establishment of 100 tourism villages, one of which was Temukus-Besakih Village. The purpose of this study is to develop and empower the people of Temukus-Besakih Village to support village-based tourism. The method used in this study is interpretative naturalistic, with the following steps: grand tours, observations, surveys, and literature studies with literature relating to the topic of research. The results showed the potential possessed by Temukus-Besakih Village in realizing tourism villages seen from the criteria of tourist villages, among others: attractions, distance traveled, religion, and infrastructure availability. The basic concept of developing Temukus-Besakih Village as a tourism village is "Sustainable Tourism Village". The concept of development of the basic concept consists of spatial plans, namely: environmental zones, socio-cultural zones, and economic zones.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out: 1.) Character education management models in Indonesia and India: Comparative study at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Lajpat Raj DAV College Jagraon India; and 2.) Effectiveness of Character education management models in Indonesia and India: Comparative Study at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Lajpat Raj DAV College Jagraon India. The method of this research was qualitative research and used a comparative study design approach. This research's most appropriate strategy was embedded research (stuck research) because the research has been planned in detail in the proposal before the researchers plunged into the field. The steps used were: 1.) Collecting source through multi-technique); 2) Reducing data to simplify and categorizing data; 3) Presenting data in the form of qualitative description; 4) Concluding; and 5.) Preparing research reports and formulating recommendations comparison research results. The research results show that the character education management model in Indonesia and India is almost the same. Whereas in Indonesia, it focuses more on religious and general characters, it is more on developing religious character in India. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of character education from Indonesia and India has been achieved by shaping students' character and other components, both for lecturers and education staff. Meanwhile, in India, public awareness and educators of the importance of education.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan biaya pendidikan terhadap kualitas proses belajar mengajar dan dampaknya dengan kompetensi lulusan SMK. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Ex Post Facto dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di sembilan SMK di Gunungkidul, dengan responden 210 guru. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi dan analisis jalur (Path Analysis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) struktur pengaruh yang mempengaruhi kompetensi lulusan tidak terbukti secara empiris; (2) Tidak terdapat pengaruh langsung kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan kompetensi lulusan dan terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan kompetensi lulusan melalui kualitas proses belajar mengajar yaitu sebesar 0,059; (3) Terdapat pengaruh langsung sebesar 0,221 dan tidak langsung sebesar 0,096 biaya pendidikan dengan kompetensi lulusan; (4) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, biaya pendidikan dan kualitas proses belajar mengajar terhadap kompetensi lulusan masing-masing sebesar 2,6%, 10,6%, 13,0%; (5) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan biaya pendidikan terhadap kualitas proses belajar mengajar sebesar 21% dan pengaruh setiap variabel sebesar 8,7%, 16,8%. dan 5,9%. The effect of principal leadership and education costs on the quality of the teaching and learning process and the subsequent impact on competence of vocational school graduates in Gunungkidul RegencyAbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of principals' leadership and education costs on the quality of teaching and learning processes and their impact on the competence of vocational school graduates. This study is an Ex Post Facto study using a quantitative approach. The study was conducted in 9 Vocational Schools in Gunungkidul, with 210 teachers as respondents. Data collection in this study uses a questionnaire. Testing the hypothesis with Path Analysis. The results of the study show that: (1) the structure of influence that influences graduate competency is not empirically proven; (2) There is no direct influence of the principal's leadership with graduate competency and there is an indirect influence of the principal's leadership with graduate competence through the quality of the teaching and learning process which is equal to 0.059; (3) There is a direct effect of 0.221 and indirectly by 0.096 costs of education with graduate competencies; (4) the influence of principals' leadership, education costs and the quality of the teaching and learning process on graduate competencies of 2.6%, 10.6%, 13.0% respectively; (5) the influence of principals' leadership and education costs on the quality of teaching and learning processes is 21% and the effect of each variable is 8.7%, 16.8% and.5.9%.

Abstract

Penelitian  ini bertujuan  untuk  menemukan model pembinaan MGMP Ekonomi SMA di Kabupaten Boyolali terkait dengan kinerja dalam pelaksanaan tugas, fungsi MGMP, dan kesesuaiannya dengan rambu-rambu KKG dan MGMP dari Direktorat Jendral Pendidikan. Metode penelitian adalah metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian: (1) profil MGMP Ekonomi SMA di Kabupaten Boyolali sudah sesuai dengan rambu-rambu KKG dan MGMP dengan pengembangan pada sisi tugas pokok dan fungsi MGMP, (2) kinerja MGMP Ekonomi SMA di Kabupaten Boyolali belum efektif. (3) hambatan MGMP Ekonomi SMA di Kabupaten Boyolali, yakni: pertama, hambatan internal: jadwal rapat sering berubah, keterlambatan anggota dalam mengahdiri rapat. Kedua, hambatan eksternal, berasal dari sekolah anggota MGMP, yakni: perijinan yang sulit bagi anggota oleh kepala sekolah untuk megikuti rapat. (4) model pembinaan yang terdiri dari dua model yaitu pembinaan untuk mengatasi permasalahan di organisasi MGMP Ekonomi SMA di Kabupaten Boyolali provinsi Jawa Tengah, dan pembinaan dari dalam dan dari luar organisasi MGMP Ekonomi SMA di Kabupaten Boyolali, dan pembinaan organisai MGMP di kabupaten Kampar provinsi Riau yang digambarkan dalam flowcart.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan proses perumusan visi dan misi sekolah; (2) mendeskripsikan strategi yang dibuat sekolah dalam upaya mewujudkan visi dan misi; (3) mendeskripsikan gambaran ketercapaian dari visi yang telah dibuat sekolah; (4) mengidentifikasi faktor yang mempengaruhi sekolah dalam upaya mewujudkan visi dan misi selama ini; dan (5) menemukan strategi yang efektif dalam mewujudkan visi dan misi yang telah dirumuskan sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologi. Data dianalisis melalui proses pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) proses perumusan visi dan misi sekolah dilakukan melalui rapat internal yang dibuat oleh kepala sekolah dengan memperhatikan visi lembaga di atas sekolah, nilai-nilai dalam masyarakat, dan relevansi dengan perkembangan zaman; (2) strategi yang dibuat ketiga sekolah memang sedikit berbeda-beda namun pada dasarnya dapat dianalisis dengan dimensi proses, konten, dan konteks; (3) visi ketiga sekolah dapat dikatakan belum tercapai karena beberapa unsur yang ada di dalam visi belum sepenuhnya terwujud; (4) sumber daya manusia, pendanaan, metode, sarana prasarana, kepemimpinan sekolah, dan komunikasi mempengaruhi ketercapaian dari visi dan misi sekolah; dan (5) strategi yang efektif dalam upaya mewujudkan visi dan misi sekolah dapat dilakukan dengan cara membangun harapan individu menjadi visi bersama, membuat prioritas pembangunan dengan indikator ketercapaiannya, membangun motivasi berprestasi, meningkatkan partisipasi orang tua, dan membangun kemitraan dengan berbagai pihak. Kata kunci: strategi mewujudkan visi dan misi STRATEGIES IN ACTUALIZING VISION AND MISSION SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN DISTRICT KASIHAN, BANTUL Abstract This study aims to: (1) describe the formulation of schools’ vision and missions; (2) describe the schools’ strategies to actualize the vision and mission; (3) describe the illustration of vision and missions achievement formulated by schools; (4) identify factors that affect the schools in actualizing their visions and missions; and (5) find an effective strategy to actualize the vision and mission. The study used a qualitative approach with the type of phenomenology. Data were analyzed through the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Results of the study: (1) the process formulation of schools’ vision and missions was done by internal meeting conducted by the headmaster by considering higher institution’s vision, values in society, and relevance of current development (2) strategies designed by those three schools are little bit different and can be basically analyzed with the dimension of process, content, and context (3) the schools’ visions were said to be not yet achieved since some elements/components of vision and mission have not been completed (4) human’s resource, funding, methods, facility and infrastructure, leadership in school, and communication affect the actualization of schools’ visions and missions, and (5) effective strategy to actualize vision and missions of schools can be done by uniting individual expectation into shared vision, creating development priority along with its achievement indicator, building achievement motivation, increasing parent’s participation, and building partnership with any stakeholders. Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian manajemen kelas 9 guru di tiga sekolah menengah atas di Yogyakarta dengan tujuan mengetahui pemahaman teoretik, manajemen kelas yang efektif dan pelaksanaannya, upaya serta hambatan yang dihadapi para guru tersebut. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif fenomenologis. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi. Hasil studi menunjukkan pemahaman teoretik para guru didominasi oleh perspektif Skinnerian. Keefektifan manajemen kelas diukur dengan standar yang ditetapkan oleh guru, partisipasi siswa menjadi minimal. Perspektif  Rogerian tampak dijalankan dan mendukung keefektifan kelas, namun tidak terlalu mendominasi. Manajemen kelas yang efektif dicapai apabila tiga unsur substantif -pengelolaan perilaku, lingkungan dan pengelolaan kurikulum dan instruksional- dijalankan dengan baik. Pengelolaan perilaku dan lingkungan lebih berperan penting ketimbang pengelolaan kurikulum dan instruksional. Upaya yang dilakukan para guru adalah penggunaan bahasa non-verbal, membangun hubungan personal dengan siswa, mengembangkan hubungan melalui media sosial dan mengubah lay out kelas. Penggunaan multi media menjadi faktor penghambat keefektifan  manajemen kelas.Kata kunci: manajemen kelas yang efektif, perspektif Rogerian, pemahaman teoretik guru, pengelolaan perilaku dan lingkungan

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) develop, produce, and investigate the appropriateness model of competency and expertise certification tests for vocational high school (VHS) students of the Mechanical Engineering expertise competency.To attain the objectives, the researcher conducted a research and development study consisting of 10 steps. The research product was validated by experts, VHS teachers, and lecturers at Mechanical Engineering Education through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and the field tryout conducted at SMK Warga Surakarta and SMK Bhineka Karya Simo, Boyolali, Central Java. The results of the study are. (1) The study produces a model of Competency and Expertise Certification Tests Based on the School Production Unit (CECT_SPU) for VHS Students of the Mechanical Engineering Expertise Competency; (2) The CECT_SPU model satisfies the criteria for a good modelby a mean score of 3.557; (3) The mean score of the model implementation in the tryouts were 3.670 in the individual tryout and 3.730 in the small-group tryout;  (4) The CECT_SPU model satisfies the criteria for an effective modelby a mean score of 3.730; (5) The CECT_SPU model satisfies the criteria for an efficient modelby a mean score of 3.780; (6) The CECT_SPU model satisfies the criteria for a practical model; by a mean score of 3.700.

Abstract

The values in sport settings have long been discussed in the literature, including the ones in the context of badminton. Despite there have been many leadership values in the literature, there is no explicit leadership value coming from research in badminton. Therefore, the purpose of the current study was to investigate the values of leadership being learned from the badminton game and develop value products through Research and Development. The research method used was a mixed method. Participants of the study included 7 former badminton players having leadership positions and 122 students in physical education teacher education program. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and survey. The results of these interviews were then interpreted, reduced, and given codes so that the values of leadership in badminton were obtained converging. The results of the research on leadership values in badminton games included (1) knowing the boundaries of territory (2) realizing the limits of authority (3) working together (4) obeying rules (5) keeping secrets (6) depth of knowledge (7) elegant decisions (8) obeying superiors (9) act with heart. The value products have been implemented and measured their effectiveness. It concludes that badminton provides opportunities to learn and develop leadership competencies. The value products are effective as a model for teaching leadership through badminton.
