Abstract

Entrepreneurs are critical to a country's economic progress and job creation. Few people felt schools have much to offer with business a generation ago. Students are expected to be an entrepreneur as the outcome of the course. The goal of this study is building a model to predict students' future employment, particularly in the field of entrepreneurship, using big data analysis and data mining. Various educational institutions can use data mining methodologies to identify hidden patterns in data contained in databases. The feature selection technique was utilised in this study to select and assess the significance of each element. The model was built using the final parameters determined by the feature selection technique (Correlation Based Feature Selection). Using the 10-fold cross validations for training and testing dataset distribution, the Naïve Bayes classifier was used to forecast the students' future of work. The dataset for the study was gathered from a student's performance report at Universitas Negeri Medan's engineering department. The effectiveness of using feature selection algorithms was compared to the effectiveness of not using feature selection algorithms, and the results are discussed. According to the findings of this study, the accuracy of Naïve Bayes with Correlation Based Feature Selection is 87.4%, which is higher than the model that did not use any feature selection. It was also discovered that the overall accuracy of the Correlation Based Feature Selection and Naïve Bayes Classifier models appears to be higher than that of the other treatments.

Abstract

This research aimed to explore the correlation between technopreneurship insight, self-efficacy, and locus of control to the entrepreneurial intention of students in the Computer and Network Engineering Department at SMK Negeri 1 Tilatang Kamang in Classes XI and XII. The sample comprised 39 individuals selected through purposive sampling, and data were collected using questionnaires. Analytical methods included traditional assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, f-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The findings suggest no noticeable connection between entrepreneurial intention and technopreneurship insight. Self-efficacy does not significantly influence entrepreneurial intention. However, the entrepreneurial intention is notably affected by the partial locus of control. Simultaneously, the entrepreneurial inclination of Class XI and XII students in the Computer and Network Engineering Department at SMK Negeri 1 Tilatang Kamang is positively and significantly influenced by technopreneurship insight, self-efficacy, and locus of control.

Abstract

The development of an entrepreneurial spirit among students has become an important priority for many schools and education stakeholders. This research aims to identify the early stages that are important in developing an entrepreneurial culture in the student community. The analysis method used is a qualitative approach involving observation, documentation studies, and fieldwork. The results of the study reveal three key elements that should be the focus for schools. First and foremost, schools must develop a curriculum that pays special attention to the development of students' knowledge and business acumen. In addition, educational institutions must provide extracurricular activities that enhance students' practical experience in running a business, such as running clubs and business projects. Third, developing relationships with local communities, including the business world, organizations, and local government agencies, can provide benefits for students in the form of practical practice and day-to-day support for business programs. The findings of this study emphasize the need for a holistic approach in building an entrepreneurial culture among students, which involves synchronizing integration, extracurricular programs, and external stakeholder engagement. These initial steps can be a strong foundation for schools to develop students into innovative and future-oriented entrepreneurs.
