Abstract

Abstract

Tourist experiences in the digital era are shaped not only by on-site physical interactions but are increasingly influenced by digital platforms, online reviews, and social media. Although the literature on digital tourism is growing rapidly, a gap remains in understanding how digital interactions holistically and integratively influence tourists' emotional satisfaction, particularly in coastal destinations. This study aims to examine the role of digital and information technology-based factors in shaping tourists' emotional satisfaction in coastal destinations by developing an integrated model that links the physical and social environments, digital experience quality, electronic word of mouth (e-WOM), digital destination image, and tourist engagement. Data were collected from 339 tourists who actively used digital platforms during their visits to a coastal destination in Indonesia. A mixed-method analytical approach was employed, combining Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test linear relationships and fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) to uncover complex configurational pathways leading to high emotional satisfaction. The findings indicate that digital experience quality and e-WOM significantly strengthen digital destination image, which in turn enhances tourist engagement and emotional satisfaction. Tourist engagement emerged as the strongest direct predictor of emotional satisfaction. The configurational analysis revealed multiple alternative pathways leading to high satisfaction, with digital destination image identified as a necessary condition across all configurations. This study offers theoretical contributions by integrating environmental psychology and digital tourism literature into a comprehensive model and by applying a mixed-method approach (SEM-fsQCA) capable of capturing causal complexity. Practically, the findings underscore the importance for destination managers to not only manage physical attractions but also to proactively build a strong digital destination image, encourage positive e-WOM, and create interactive and engaging digital experiences to enhance tourists' emotional satisfaction.

SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping, as one of the Centers of Excellence (SMK PK), is committed to developing its curriculum and providing learning facilities that equip students with the competencies needed for the workforce through the implementation of Teaching Factory learning. This study aims to determine the effect of Teaching Factory learning on the Readiness of Culinary Students' Field Work Practice at SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. This type of research uses a quantitative. The data collection technique was carried out through a questionnaire given to 66 students. Data analysis used software SPSS versi 26.00 with a simple linear regression test. The results of the study showed: (1) Teaching Factory learning is in the good category (44%), and Culinary Students' Field Work Practice Readiness is also in the good category (38%). (2) The results of the regression test show that there is a positive and significant influence between Teaching Factory learning on Field Work Practice, with a significance value of 0.010. (3) The regression coefficient value is 0.143, which means that every one unit increase in the TeFa learning variable can increase Culinary Students' Field Work Practice Readiness by 0.143 points. The R value of 0.143 indicates that Teaching Factory learning contributes 14.3% to Culinary Students' Field Work Practice Readiness, while the remaining 85.7% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

The unemployment rate among vocational high school (SMK) graduates in Indonesi remains high, partly due to low practical skills and entrepreneurial interest. The Teaching Factory learning model is implemented to integrate industrial work environments and procedures into the learning process, enabling students to again real experience in production and marketing. This study aims to. (1) the implementation of teaching factory learning, (2) determine students entrepreneurial interest level, and (3) analyze the effect of teaching factory learning on the entreprenuerial of 12th-garde culinary students at SMK Nusatama Padang. The research employed a quantitative method with a simple linear regression design. The population, which also served as the sampel, consisted of 40 students selected through total sampling. Data were collcted using a Likert-scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability, complemented by observation and documentation. The result showed that the implementation of teaching factory learning was in the “good” category, and students entrepeneurial interest was high. The regression equation Y = 18,929 + 0,816X, with tcount 7,834 > ttable 2,204 and p = 0,000 < 0,05, indicated a positive and significant effect. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 61,8% revealed that teaching factory learning contributes to variations in students entrepreneurial interest, while the remaining 38,2% is influenced by other factors. In coclusion, direct student involvement in all production processes through teaching factory learning can enhance motivation, self-confidance, and entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the main motivations and reasons people choose entrepreneurship, particularly in the context of young entrepreneurs in North Sumatra. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method through direct observation and in-depth interviews. The results show that entrepreneurial motivation stems from internal and external factors that interact with each other, including economic pressures, family responsibilities, spiritual values, the desire for independence, opportunity exploitation, and social concern. These findings are reinforced by entrepreneurial motivation theories that emphasize the role of push and pull factors in the decision to start a business. This research is expected to contribute to the development of entrepreneurship education in higher education and serve as a reference for prospective young Indonesian entrepreneurs.
