Abstract

The increasingly dynamic lifestyle of modern society has led to limited time for proper pet care, particularly in maintaining regular feeding routines for cats. Manual feeding practices often result in inconsistent schedules, inaccurate food portions, and difficulties in monitoring feeding activities when owners are away. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things–based automatic cat feeder as a solution to these challenges. The research employs a research and development approach, encompassing needs analysis, system design, hardware and software implementation, and functional testing. The developed system integrates an IoT-based microcontroller, a mechanical feeding mechanism, and an internet-based monitoring application. Experimental results indicate that the system is capable of dispensing food automatically according to predefined schedules with high time accuracy and stable portion consistency. Furthermore, the system allows remote control and monitoring with reliable responsiveness as long as an internet connection is available. These findings demonstrate that the proposed system effectively improves feeding efficiency, supports consistent feeding patterns for cats, and provides convenience and assurance for pet owners. The system also shows potential for further development in the field of smart pet care technologies.

Abstract

Aqidah and akhlaq are two main pillars in the formation of a complete, balanced Muslim personality in accordance with Islamic teachings. Aqidah serves as the foundation of belief, while akhlaq represents the manifestation of that belief, forming an inseparable unity. This article aims to examine the fundamental values of aqidah akhlaq across four dimensions: rabbani (divine), personal, social, and global. This study employs a qualitative library research method, with primary data sources consisting of the Qur’an, the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the book Minhājul Muslim, as well as secondary data derived from tafsir (Qur’anic exegesis), hadith commentaries, and related academic literature. The data are analyzed using a descriptive-interpretative approach to interpret and classify the values of aqidah akhlaq into the four dimensions. The findings indicate that understanding and implementing rabbani, personal, social, and global values are essential in shaping Muslim character that is faithful, morally upright, and socially as well as globally responsible. This study provides a conceptual contribution to the development of aqidah akhlaq education in both individual and societal contexts.

Abstract

The presence and influence of Shi‘a Islam in Southeast Asia is a complex historical process shaped by peaceful cultural transmission rather than conflict. Arriving via Sufi networks, literature, and rituals from Persia and India, Shi‘a traditions harmoniously integrated with dominant Sunni-Syafi‘i practices. In Bengkulu, the Tabut ritual rooted in Shi‘a commemorations of Imam Husain’s martyrdom at Karbala was introduced in the early 18th century by Indian Shi‘a migrants from Madras and Bengal under British colonial rule. Central to the ritual is the Penja artifact, a five-fingered symbol representing the Khamsa or Panj-e-Tan, honoring the Prophet Muhammad, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain. This emblem, along with miniature Zulfikar swords, embodies theological symbolism and communal identity. The Tabut festival, held annually from 1–10 Muharram, includes structured rites such as Mengambil Tanah, Duduk Penja, Menjara, and culminates in a grand Ashura procession. Parallels with Indian Shi‘a traditions especially in Awadh reveal the transnational nature of these symbols, which serve both commemorative and protective roles. The Khamsa’s integration into processions underscores its function as a mobile shrine and marker of solidarity, reflecting enduring connections between Southeast Asian Shi‘a practices and broader intellectual-religious networks across Iran, Iraq, and the Indian subcontinent.

Abstract

Abstract

Decentralization constitutes a central legal-political strategy in Indonesia’s constitutional framework, aimed at redistributing governmental authority from the central government to regional governments in order to enhance public service delivery, governance effectiveness, and the quality of local democracy. As a unitary state, Indonesia adopts decentralization not merely as an administrative arrangement but as a constitutional mandate embedded in Article 18 of the 1945 Constitution, further operationalized through various laws on regional governance. This study examines the legal politics of decentralization in Indonesia and analyzes the challenges it poses to the realization of substantive local democracy. Employing a normative juridical research method, this study uses statutory and conceptual approaches to analyze constitutional provisions, laws on regional government, and relevant legal doctrines. The findings indicate that while decentralization has opened broader opportunities for local autonomy, political participation, and policy innovation, its implementation has also generated significant democratic challenges at the local level. These challenges include the consolidation of local oligarchies, the persistence of political dynasties, corruption, weak institutional capacity, and limited meaningful public participation. In many regions, decentralization has resulted in a shift of power from central elites to local elites rather than genuine empowerment of citizens. This condition reveals a normative–empirical gap between the objectives of decentralization and the realities of local democratic practices. The study argues that the effectiveness of decentralization in strengthening local democracy depends on consistent legal-political orientation, strengthened oversight mechanisms, institutional capacity building at the regional level, and the enhancement of civic participation and political literacy. Without these measures, decentralization risks functioning merely as an administrative transfer of authority rather than as an instrument for deepening democracy and achieving social justice.

Abstract

Tax revenue is the main source of state revenue, which plays an important role in financing national development. One of the determining factors for optimizing tax revenue is the level of taxpayer compliance and loyalty. This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and taxation innovation on taxpayer satisfaction and loyalty at the Lubuk Pakam Tax Office. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a sampling technique using the Slovin formula, resulting in 93 respondents from a total population of 1,265 taxpayers. Data processing was performed using Partial Least Square (PLS) with SmartPLS software. The results showed that service quality had a positive and significant effect on taxpayer satisfaction and loyalty, while innovation had a positive and significant effect on satisfaction but did not have a significant direct effect on loyalty. Taxpayer satisfaction was found to have a positive and significant effect on loyalty and to act as an intervening variable in the relationship between service quality and innovation on taxpayer loyalty. The R² values of 0.684 for satisfaction and 0.886 for loyalty indicate that the model has strong explanatory power. These findings indicate that improving service quality and developing digital tax service innovations can strengthen taxpayer satisfaction, which ultimately encourages loyalty and voluntary tax compliance. This study recommends improving the competence of tax officials, expanding digital innovations, and conducting periodic evaluations of service standards to strengthen taxpayer trust and loyalty.

Abstract

Performing drama has increasingly emerged as a critical cultural practice in contemporary society, functioning not merely as artistic expression but as a space where identity, culture, and power are actively negotiated. This perspective article reflects on performing drama as a socio-cultural arena in which dominant narratives are questioned, marginalized voices are articulated, and collective meanings are reconfigured. Rather than presenting empirical findings, this article offers a conceptual reflection grounded in contemporary art and cultural studies. It argues that performing drama operates as a dynamic site of negotiation between tradition and modernity, local and global cultures, and authority and resistance. By situating drama within broader social and political contexts, this article highlights its potential role in fostering critical awareness and cultural agency in contemporary society.
