Abstract

General Background: Financial literacy is essential for developing responsible financial behaviors, particularly when introduced at an early age. Specific Background: In Gongsol Village, financial education programs targeting children aim to instill the importance of saving and financial management from a young age. Knowledge Gap: However, financial literacy initiatives specifically designed for children in rural communities remain limited, and their long-term effectiveness has not been thoroughly explored. Aims: This study evaluates the implementation of a financial education program that focuses on basic financial concepts, such as the distinction between needs and wants, managing pocket money, and saving practices. Results: The program engaged children through interactive educational activities, with 100% of participants expressing a clear understanding of the materials and a desire to continue their financial education. Additionally, the children demonstrated improved awareness of the value of saving and financial planning. Novelty: This program highlights a tailored approach to rural financial education, effectively bridging the gap in early financial literacy initiatives in underserved areas. Implications: The program’s success indicates the potential for similar interventions in other rural areas, promoting financial discipline and preparing future generations to face economic challenges with greater competence. Further research could explore the long-term impact of such education on financial behavior.

Abstract

General Background: Entrepreneurship education for children is essential to foster economic understanding and business skills from an early age, particularly in rural areas where job opportunities are limited. Specific Background: In Gongsol Village, there is a lack of awareness among children regarding economic values and the potential of entrepreneurship as a sustainable career path. Knowledge Gap: Although entrepreneurship education for adults is common, programs tailored for children in rural areas remain scarce. Aims: This community service project aimed to introduce entrepreneurship concepts and develop entrepreneurial character in children, fostering motivation and practical skills for starting small businesses. Results: The program, which included educational sessions, practical demonstrations, and video documentation on creating simple products (e.g., stuffed tofu), significantly increased children's motivation to start a business, as evidenced by high participation rates and positive feedback on entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. Novelty: This initiative is among the first to provide structured entrepreneurship education specifically designed for young children in rural settings, combining theoretical and practical approaches. Implications: The program demonstrates that early entrepreneurial education can significantly enhance children's economic literacy and entrepreneurial mindset, potentially leading to greater entrepreneurial engagement in the future. Further research is needed to assess the long-term impact of such programs on children's business development and economic empowerment.

Abstract

This ethnographic study delves into the Mbelu’ Pandang tradition, a unique cultural practice held in Labuan Kertasari Village, West Sumbawa, Indonesia. This tradition, which originated from the Selayar tribe, involves intricate rituals such as the rolling of pandan leaves and the slicing of pandanus, performed during the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. The study aimed to explore the historical roots, philosophical meanings, and contemporary significance of the Mbelu’ Pandang tradition, emphasizing its socio-cultural and religious values. Data was collected over three months using participant observation, in-depth interviews with 13 key informants, including village elders, religious, and community leaders, and qualitative content analysis was employed to interpret the findings. Results indicate that the tradition serves multiple functions: fostering community cohesion, acting as a conduit for religious expression, and reinforcing cultural identity among the villagers. It also highlights the efforts to preserve this tradition through local festivals and community-based initiatives, which sustain cultural heritage and promote regional tourism. The study contributes to understanding the dynamics of cultural preservation within minority tribes and offers insights into the complex interplay between tradition, religion, and modernity in rural Indonesia.

Abstract

Traditional labor regulations and employment standards are complicated by the features of paid work associated with digital platform businesses, such as taxi, delivery, and maintenance roles. This article evaluates the scope of this. The types of employment in Indonesia and their primary attributes subsequently examine the relevance of current employment regulations to these gig jobs, referencing Australian and international legislation and jurisprudence. Significant ambiguity exists over the extent of conventional legislation, minimum requirements, and remedies in the domain of irregular digitally mediated employment. Regulators and legislators should evaluate methods to enhance and broaden the regulatory framework overseeing gig work. The article identifies five principal options: enforcing current laws, clarifying or broadening definitions of 'employment,' establishing a new category of 'independent workers,' granting rights to 'workers' rather than employees, and reevaluating the notion of an 'employer.' We evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of these methods and encourage authorities to use innovative and ambitious strategies to enhance the minimum standards and conditions for workers in these circumstances

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of few resources on economic growth from an Islamic macroeconomic standpoint. A descriptive method was employed in this investigation. Documentation studies or written documents including data gathered from books, journals, the Central Bureau of Statistics' official website, and other publications were used as data gathering methods. The study's findings clarify that Islamic macroeconomics places a strong emphasis on socioeconomic justice, human brotherhood, and moral principles. To ensure everyone's well-being, it depends on markets, families, communities, value role play, and the government. Lack of material resources is not the root cause of economic issues. Since Allah SWT has made human needs available, the primary economic issue is not the availability of natural resources but rather human activity, which leads to scarcity. Naturally, limited resources, if controlled and used for a sustainable economy, will not slow down economic growth if everyone works hard, restricts demands, and can effectively manage the community's economy.

Abstract

The Lubuk Alung Irrigation Area is a grouping of the large Batang Anai Irrigation Area, generally most of the population are farmers, so the need for water for agricultural land is very necessary, if there is a lack of water supply for irrigation it can hamper the pace of the planting season. The aim of this research is to calculate the need for irrigation water in rice fields and plantations in the Lubuk Alung irrigation area and determine the exiting dimension. Calculation of irrigation water requirements using the KP-01 method and Cropwat 8.0 software, to find the exiting dimensions using HEC-RAS 5.0.1 software. From the results of calculating irrigation water requirements using the KP-01 method, the value was 1.42 l/sec/ha in April and the results of calculating irrigation water requirements using the Cropwat 8.0 program obtained a value of 0.36 l/sec/ha in March. . In the cross section calculation using HEC-RAS 5.0.1 software, the discharge used is in the primary channel BLS.1-BLS.2, namely 21,566 m3//s with data on the dimensions of the upstream channel (P0) with channel width (b) = 11 m , channel height H = 2.87 m and downstream channel height (P16) (H) = 3.14 m, from the results of running with HEC-RAS 5.0.1 software it is found that the water level upstream is (P0) (h) = 1.2 m and the water level downstream (P16) (h) = 1.13 m, while from field survey data it was found that the water level upstream (P0) (h) = 1.23 m and downstream (P16) (h) = 1.15 m. From the results seen in the cross section image, it can be concluded that the channel dimensions are not the same height. In overcoming this problem, an attempt was made to recreate an efficient channel cross-section design. The results obtained from exiting channel dimensions with channel bottom width (b) = 8 m, channel top width (B) = 17.76 m, water level height (h) = 1.56 m, channel height (H) = 2.44 m , and guard height (w) = 0.88 m.
