Abstract

Instilling religious values ??is a fundamental aspect of character education in elementary schools. This article discusses the implementation of the habit of reading Sholawat Busyro which is carried out after the morning assembly as an effort to foster the religious character of students at MII Banyurip Ageng 02 Pekalongan City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the habit of reading Sholawat Busyro is carried out routinely, spontaneously, and through exemplary behavior, and is followed by all students and teachers every morning. The implementation of this activity follows the steps: student training and mentoring, giving appreciation, strengthening morals through the knowing-feeling-doing approach, and avoiding criticism. This activity forms students' religious character such as humility, politeness, discipline in worship, and love for the Prophet. Supporting factors for this habit include teacher assertiveness, involvement of all students, a safe environment, and implementation of the habit as a mandatory madrasah activity. The inhibiting factors include students' inability to memorize, laziness in reciting Sholawat Busyro, limited time, and incorrect pronunciation. The results of this study recommend the habituation of sholawat as an effective strategy to form students' religious character comprehensively and applicatively in elementary education environments.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran strategis dalam membangun sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas, terutama melalui pendidikan formal di perguruan tinggi, termasuk Perguruan Tinggi Kedinasan (PTK). PTK menjadi pilihan menarik bagi banyak siswa karena menyediakan pendidikan berbasis ikatan dinas yang menjamin karir setelah lulus. Namun, proses seleksi masuk PTK sangat kompetitif dan membutuhkan persiapan intensif. Berdasarkan kebutuhan tersebut, tim pengabdi bekerja sama dengan lembaga bimbingan belajar di Kota Pekalongan melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan untuk menghadapi seleksi PTK, khususnya dalam mengerjakan soal Tes Wawasan Kebangsaan (TWK).Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah membantu siswa SMA/sederajat mempersiapkan diri menghadapi seleksi masuk PTK dengan memberikan pelatihan intensif terkait jenis soal TWK dan strategi penyelesaiannya. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui seminar dan pelatihan interaktif yang melibatkan diskusi, metode tanya-jawab, dan latihan soal. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta, yang tercermin melalui partisipasi aktif dalam pelatihan. Peserta memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang materi TWK, teknik menjawab soal, dan strategi menghadapi ujian secara efisien. Dampak kegiatan ini tidak hanya terlihat dari peningkatan kemampuan akademik peserta, tetapi juga pada penguatan mentalitas, disiplin, dan rasa percaya diri mereka. Selain itu, kolaborasi antara tim pengabdi dan mitra menciptakan ekosistem pembelajaran yang mendukung keberlanjutan program serupa di masa depan, dengan harapan mencetak generasi muda yang siap menghadapi tantangan pendidikan dan karir di PTK

Abstract

Kemampuan pedagogis guru merupakan salah satu hal penting dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran. Dalam hal ini guru yang memiliki kompetensi pedagogi akan memberi pengaruh terhadap siswa karena dengan guru yang memiliki kompetensi pedagogis dapat mewujudkan pembelajaran yang lebih menyenangkan dan siswa tidak merasa bosan dan juga dapat meningkatkan interaksi belajar mengajar antara guru dan siswa. Dengan demikian, artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kompetensi pedagogi guru pada mata pelajaran PAI di SMP Negeri 2 Kajen dan implikasinya terhadap keaktifan siswa. Artikel ini disusun dengan yaitu pendekatanokualitatif dengan menggunakan studi kasus di SMP Negeri 2 Kajen. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil telaah menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogi guru sudah baik dengan indikator guru di SMP Negeri 2 Kajen mayoritas guru telah lolos kualifikasi dan lolos sertifikasi serta terlibat dalam berbagai kegiatan. Implikasi kompetensi pedagogi guru mata pelajaran PAI ini kemudian dapat dilihat dari kemampuan guru dalam memahami karakteristik siswa, perencanaan pembelajaran, melaksanakan pembelajaran, evaluasi hasil belajar, dan mengembangkan potensi siswa. Dari indikator tersebut berimplikasi terhadap siswa lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran PAI.

Abstract

This article was written with the aim of describing the strategies used by Islamic religious education teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Taman, Pemalang Regency in instilling character education values. Apart from that, various supporting and inhibiting factors are also described in instilling character education values for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Taman, Pemalang Regency. This is because character development is an important thing that must be done by teachers, especially Islamic religious education (PAI) teachers. This is because through religious education (Islam), teachers can introduce students to and at the same time instill social values that live and are maintained in people's lives which are part of good human character and personality. This article uses a type of field research by applying a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique goes through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation process, and conclusion drawing process. The results of the study in this article show that the PAI teacher's strategy in instilling character education values in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Taman, Pemalang Regency uses several strategies, namely through habituation activities, being a model and role model, mentor and motivator, and giving punishment. The supporting factors in instilling character education values in students are teachers who can be role models, parental education at home, school facilities, routine and extracurricular school activities. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are lack of teacher competence, lack of parental education, environmental and social factors.

Abstract

Salah satu keunggulan yang terdapat pada metode story telling yaitu dapat mempermudah peserta didik dalam memahami dan memanggil kembali ingatan (recall) suatu pengetahuan, terutama juka dibandingkan ketika pengetahuan tersebut disampaikan secara konvensional (ceramah) yang bersifat informatif. Metode ini juga dapat menjadi salah satu cara menanamkan keteladanan dengan cara membiasakan dan mencontohkan perilaku atau sosok figur dalam proses story telling dalam bertingkah laku, berbicara, berpikir dan melakukan aktivitas tertentu untuk membentuk kebiasaan yang baik sehingga akan membentuk karakter yang baik. Dengan demikian artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran bagaimana implementasi metode story telling dalam rangka penanaman nilai keteladanan bagi peserta didik di SDN 13 Kebondalem Pemalang, serta apa saja yang menjadi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam penerapannya. Artikel ini ditulis dengan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis yang dilakukan secara interaktif melalui tiga tahap yaitu: kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Dari hasil ulasan didaptkan gambaran metode story telling diimplementasikan melalui langkah-langkah persiapan, pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi. Metode story telling digunakan dalam proses penanaman nilai-nilai keteladanan dengan cara menyelipkan kisah yang mengandung nilai keteladanan dalam proses bercerita. Faktor pendukung dalam implementasi metode ini yaitu adanya persiapan fisik dan pemberian reward. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya yaitu suasana yang gaduh, tidak adanya alat peraga dan kesibukan individual guru.

Abstract

The history of Islam is important to study in order to achieve greatness; Islamic civilization advanced rapidly during the Abbasid, Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal periods in fields of science, governance, culture, and education. This article discusses the formation, progress, and decline of the civilizations of the three great Islamic empires: Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal. The writing uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study method. Research Findings: The Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal Sultanates were three major Islamic empires that flourished between the 13th and 18th centuries. The Ottomans reached their peak under Muhammad Al-Fatih and Suleiman the Magnificent, marked by dominant military and cultural power. The Safavids emerged from a Shia Sufi order and thrived under Abbas I through religious tolerance and artistic development. The Mughal Empire in India, founded by Babur, experienced its golden age during Akbar’s reign, known for tolerance, education, and the arts. Despite eventual decline due to internal and external conflicts, their architectural and cultural legacies remain significant today. Conclusion: The greatness of the three Islamic empires of the 17th century was formed through historical processes, achieved progress, but ultimately declined due to various internal and external factors.

Abstract

Currently, among Muslims there are various styles of schools of Islamic thought. The emergence of these various schools is a logical consequence of the process of understanding the main texts in the sources of Islamic law, namely the Al-Qur'an and As-Sunah (hadith) where there are rigid understandings of texts that do not provide room for discussion in them, as well as texts that loose text in the form of conjecture, which is possible to be interpreted in various ways. Thus, this article aims to provide a description of various schools of Islamic thought which are divided into four major schools. This article was written with a qualitative descriptive approach using the literature study method. From the results of the discussion, it is known that there are four major poles in Islamic thought, including Kalam, Philosophy, Fiqh and Sufism. These four major schools then have their own principles, methodologies and sources of interpretation, even though they all have the same basic foundation, namely the Al-Qur'an and As-Sunnah.

Abstract

Historical works or historiography are basically the result of historians' interpretations of trying to connect the present with the past. The interpretation results are then read and interpreted by the readers, sometimes beyond the interests of history itself. Reading historical works of course requires certain glasses. One of the glasses offered in this paper is the framework of the philosophy of history. On this basis, the writing of historical works will be closely related to the philosophy of history. This article aims to explain that the philosophy of history has a major role in producing high-value historiography. The research method used in writing this article uses a qualitative descriptive method based on literature study. The results showed that the philosophy of history, especially with its two scopes (speculative and critical), ultimately polarized historiography into historiography-philosophy and historiography-critical. These two forms of historiography have an important value in developing a tradition of multi-dimensional approaches to produce more valuable historical works.

Abstract

Conflict and culture are two inseparable elements in the history of human civilization. Throughout history, conflict has often emerged as a result of differences in values, ideologies, and interests, but culture has often been a bridge that has made peace possible. This study aims to explore the relationship between conflict and culture, and to analyze how culture can act as a tool for transforming conflict into sustainable peace. The method used in this writing is qualitative analysis with a historical and sociological approach. Data were collected from various academic literature, case studies, and relevant historical documents. The results of the writing show that culture has an important role in creating cross-group understanding, building dialogue, and creating empathy. Elements such as art, tradition, language, and universal values ​​are often effective media in reducing tensions. Case studies of conflicts in various regions show that culture-based initiatives, such as cultural diplomacy, collective art, and cross-cultural education programs, have a positive impact on reducing conflict and building peace. The implication of this research is the need to strengthen the role of culture in diplomacy and conflict resolution efforts. Global policies that are more oriented towards cultural dialogue can be a key strategy for creating harmony amidst diversity.

Abstract

Numeracy and science literacy are essential competencies in navigating the increasingly complex global era. In this context, proficiency in English as an international language serves as a strategic advantage, enabling broader access to high-quality learning resources. This research-based community service aims to improve numeracy and science literacy among students at Pondok Pesantren in Pekalongan, by integrating English-based learning resources used service learning approach.. The program was introduced to improve students' readiness to face global challenges, focusing on strengthening their understanding of numeracy and science through English-based learning materials. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the program using statistically analyzed pretest and posttest data. The results showed an increase in mean score from pretest (5.44) to posttest (7.67), but statistical analysis showed that this increase was not significant. The normality test confirmed that the data distribution was normally distributed, which allowed the use of parametric statistical methods. The paired samples t-test showed no significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p-value = 0.093). However, the effect size analysis showed a moderate effect (Cohen's d = 0.636, Hedges' g = 0.606), which suggested that the program made a meaningful impact, although not statistically significant. These results suggest that although the program has potential, it needs improvements such as longer duration, larger sample size, and more effective teaching methods to achieve significant results. The study concludes that integrating English literacy with numeracy and science education has the potential to prepare students for global challenges, and the program can be further developed with stronger implementation strategies.
