This article aims to provide a conceptual description of the role of history as a science in the context of development in general and sustainable development in particular which is adapted to the objectives of sustainable development itself. This article is a historical conceptual article written with a qualitative descriptive approach supported by the use of data collection methods in the form of library research. From the results of the discussion, it is known that the concept of sustainable development can be traced from various works of social history so that a more detailed concept can be formulated today. History as a science also has an important relationship and role in the development process and sustainable development itself which can be seen from the existence of historical functions that can lead to historical consciousness.

Abstract

This article aims to describe how schools of thought in Islam, especially theology and jurisprudence, emerged in the long tradition of Islamic history. As a descriptive study, the flow of thought in Islam is actually a process of developing the thoughts of Muslims on the sources of Islamic law which are inevitably understood differently. This article was written using a qualitative descriptive approach using the literature study method. From the results of the discussion it is known that there are various schools of theological thought, including the Khawarij, Murji'ah, Syi'ah, Jabariyah, Qodariyah, Mu'tazilah, and Ahlussunah schools. Whereas fiqh thought includes the Mutakallimin, fuqaha, and Muta'akhirin schools. The emergence of various patterns in the schools of Islamic thought among Muslims is a logical consequence of the process of understanding texts in the sources of Islamic law, namely the Qur'an and Hadith.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of da'wah today is very rapid. This rapid development is also supported through various media, including popular culture media (Pop Culture). Of the many popular cultures, video games are rarely used in da'wah media because they are often considered as trivial things, not of important value, and also considered as wasteful/consumptive activities. In fact, video games are suspected to be able to shape changes in the mindset and behavior of the players. This study uses a qualitative approach through analysis of literature obtained from books, journals and other relevant sources. This study aims to examine conceptually and practically the use of video games as a medium of da'wah that can open up opportunities to disseminate messages of da'wah massively and significantly. The results show that the phenomenon of using video games as a popular propaganda medium can theoretically be examined in three perspectives, namely video games as a way of delivering/intervention to change behavior through the learning process, video games as a simulation and a model that presents a meaningful experience, and video games as part of an environment that is able to provide various (direct) activities that are useful and meaningful from the learning aspect. Practically, the use of video games as a medium of Islamic da'wah can be realized in three ways, namely building the entire process of developing a video game platform by involving Muslim components in it. Then by inserting Islamic elements, and involving other platforms outside the video game system.

Abstract

This article was written against the backdrop of the position of the Ottoman Turks, which historically had a significant influence on Muslims in the Dutch East Indies. The Muslims of the Dutch East Indies saw that the Ottoman Turks were their political and spiritual representatives. Thus, this article aims to find out the background and response of the Muslims of the Dutch East Indies when the Ottoman Empire was overthrown and replaced with the Republic of Turks. This article used historical research methods with stages in heuristics, criticism/verification, interpretation, and historiography. The data is used as primary data taken from various contemporary mass media reports and secondary data. From the results of the analysis, it is known that the collapse of the Ottoman Turks on 3 March 1924 was responded to by the Muslims of the Dutch East Indies with efforts to revitalize the caliphate through efforts to carry out congresses/meetings, the formation of committees/special agencies and the publication of mass media. The changing image of Turks in the eyes of the Muslim population of the Dutch East Indies eventually contributed to the emergence of new discourses, especially regarding the relationship between Islam and the state in the context of searching for the format of an independent state for Indonesia in the future. This discourse has yet to end in Indonesia and is still experiencing dynamics. Abstract

Historically-politically, Islam has become part of the traditional Malay states (palities). The Islamic-Malay relationship is manifested in a political conception of the legitimacy of the kingdom/sultanate, especially referring to the sultanate of Malacca. Since the time of the Malacca sultanate, the role of Islam has become something that cannot even be contested. Politically, Islam has become a unifying factor for the Malays. In short, the Islamic discourse has penetrated and embedded itself into the identity of the Malay community so that it also gave rise to the political variant of Malay Islam. The article aims to describe the political conception of Malay Islam starting from its background, political relations between Islam and Malays, to the dynamics and political concepts adopted by the Malay (Islam) community. This article was written using a qualitative approach based on a literature review using descriptive analytical techniques. This article shows that there is a close natural relationship between Islamic and Malay political identity. The journey of Malay-Islamic political relations which began during the Islamic sultanate continued to be dynamic until the colonialism and revivalism period which marked the change in Malay cultural identity through identity politics with the nation state channel. Malay which originally meant race/ethnicity was then delimited by regional boundaries which made it impossible for the emergence of a pan-Malay political identity.
