Abstract

In the early 20th century, the landscape of Islamic scholarship was marked by intense intellectual debates and the challenge of reconciling classical traditions with modern perspectives. Against this backdrop, this study analyzes Amin al-Khuli's use of rhetoric in the editorial of the Qadla' Syar'i journal to reduce intellectual conflict and promote rational academic dialogue. Amin al-Khuli served as the editor-in-chief of the journal in 1922, during which he published a controversial article regarding the implementation of three talaq with one word, a topic that sparked significant debate and nearly led to the closure of the journal. In response to the controversy, al-Khuli employed a structured rhetorical approach in his editorial to assert the journal’s neutrality, reduce tensions, and foster constructive engagement with the readership. This research employs discourse analysis to examine the relationship between language and context in al-Khuli’s editorial strategies. The findings reveal that his rhetorical approach successfully positioned the journal as an impartial platform for scholarly discussion by emphasizing that published articles served as intellectual exercises rather than endorsements of particular viewpoints. His rhetorical strategies included intensification to reinforce neutrality, attenuation to minimize controversy, credibility-building techniques to establish trust, and emotional engagement to create a sense of inclusivity and participation. These rhetorical elements contributed to strengthening the tradition of open and rational academic discourse while bridging the gap between classical Islamic scholarship and modern intellectual thought. The study highlights the importance of effective rhetorical strategies in managing differences of opinion and sustaining academic integrity. However, it is limited to analyzing a single editorial text and does not fully explore the audience’s reception or its broader impact on Islamic legal thought. Future research is recommended to assess the long-term influence of such discourse on contemporary Islamic scholarship. This study contributes to the understanding of how rhetoric can be strategically employed in academic and public discourse, offering valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and media professionals in fostering inclusive and constructive dialogue.

Abstract

From children to adults, everyone enjoys playing online games as a form of entertainment. Online games have a more popular market because they can meet other players worldwide connected to the internet. NPCs (players controlled by a computer system) are also available in online games as player substitutes or for skill practice. As a result, we have been interacting with artificial intelligence in the competition and our environment without realizing it. The game's AI (Artificial Intelligent) can offer an experience similar to playing with other players. Artificial intelligence may always influence online games, whether to replace opponents or choose the game's plot. First Person Shooter (FPS) game Valorant was made available for free on the Windows platform by Riot Games. With a CS: GO-like concept (Counter Strike Global Offensive). The amount of money you have available for each round must be calculated at the equipment purchasing phase to produce effective gaming equipment. The Greedy Algorithm is one of the algorithms that can be used to choose the equipment for the money/cred owned. This algorithm will select the most expensive item the player can buy each round so that the player's chances of winning that round increase.

The phenomenon of fundamentalism and radicalism at least can be seen in the case of Jemaah Islamiyah in Indonesia. Whether or not Jemaah Islamiyah has a link with Al-Qaeda headed by Osama Bin Laden, obviously its movement has affiliations not only in Indonesia, but also in Malaysia, Singapore, and South Philippine, and even in Thailand, Burma, and Brunei. Jemaah Islamiyah is believed to be established by Abdullah Sungkar in Malaysia in 1994/1995 aiming for establishing an Islamic State. Jemaah Islamiyah is the realization of Hybrid ideology inspired by some other movements, such as Egypt Radical Moslem, Darul Islam Movement, Dewan Dakwah Islamiyah Indonesia (DDII). Abstract

There is a relation between democratic development in Indonesia with Islamic sharia. If we want to include military aspect, it can also depend on Islamic movement. Thus, Islamic concepts have to be the promoter for democratic struggle. However, this role will not be effective if Islam does not hold a dialogue with other forces of politic. Hence, Islam is required to be the democratic religion. Politics in Islam will be discussed in this article along with the explanation about democracy as the equality in Politics. The principles of Islamic democratic are also presented as a part of the realization of humans’ harmony life. It is called harmony life since it has the practices of democratic such as doing discussion, teamwork, and freedom to choose.

Abstract

This research has the purpose to (1) test the effectiveness of the MBKM program model at Nurul Jadid University through limited trials; (2) conduct an evaluation and revision of the model; (3) carry out a broader model trial for the development of future MBKM prototype programs. This research employs a Research and Development approach with two implementation phases. The research outcomes indicate that in the first phase, an exploratory research and prototype design of the MBKM program were conducted through the MBKM Santri Mengabdi and MBKM Santri Mengajar programs. In the second phase, a trial of the MBKM program design was conducted with a limited group, and the outcomes demonstrated the success of the MBKM Santri Mengabdi and MBKM Santri Mengajar programs, serving as prototypes for the independent development of MBKM by Nurul Jadid University. Through evaluation and revisions, it was found that the MBKM Santri Mengabdi and MBKM Santri Mengajar programs are suitable for broader implementation, even though some technical adjustments were identified. The outcomes of the program trial indicate that the MBKM Santri Mengabdi and MBKM Santri Mengajar programs are suitable for implementation and are proposed to be carried out in all research programs at Nurul Jadid University in Paiton, Probolinggo.
