Abstract

This research aims to describe basic sentence structure errors and describe the factors that cause basic sentence structure errors in writing interview text skills. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were fourth grade students, fourth grade teachers, and the principal of SD Negeri Tegalsari. Data collection techniques used interviews, documentation studies, and observation. The data validity test technique uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive analysis of the Miles and Huberman model which includes four stages: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) drawing conclusions. The results showed that the analysis of basic sentence structure errors on the subject indicator (19.23%), predicate indicator (13.46%), object indicator (8.65%), description indicator (45.2%), and complementary indicators (13.46%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the analysis of basic sentence structure errors in the description indicator is the indicator that most errors occur in the use of sentences. The theoretical implications can be used as a reference for further research. The practical implications can help educators understand how students understand basic sentence structures and to improve future learning.

Abstract

Abstract. This research has a purpose to find : (1)the different of argumentative text writing skills between the students that teached by Six Thinking Hats learning method within  Brainstorming learning method ; (2) the different of argumentative text writing skills between the high internal locus of control students and low internal locus of control students, and (3) the interaction between learning method and internal locus of control on the  argumentative text writing skills. Research arranged using quasi experimental research method at 2 x 2 factorial design. The examined population were all the fifth grader students of state elementary school at Laweyan sub district Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year. The technique of sampling was using cluster random sampling. The representative sample were Kleco I elementary school and Bratan II elementary school. Data dollected by test and non test technique. The data were analyzed using Two Ways Anava at 5% significance level. This research conclude that (1) there was a different of argumentative text writing skills between the students that teached by Six Thinking Hats learning method within Brainstorming learning method with FA = 11.1345093 > F(0,05;1,62) = 4; (2) there was a different of argumentative text writing skills between the high internal locus of control students and low internal locus of control students with FB= 5.76629985> F(0,05;1,62) = 4; (3) there was no interaction between learning method and internal locus of control on the  argumentative text writing skills with FAB = -0.9813857<F(0,05;1,62) = 4.Keywords : Six Thinking Hats, Brainstorming, Internal Locus of Control, argumentative text writing skills, elementary school

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the problematic forms of using Indonesian in narrative essays for fourth grade students at SDN Tegalayu Surakarta. The problems studied include (1) problematic language symptoms, (2) spelling and usage problems, (3) word form and meaning changes, (4) sentence problems. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The sampling technique used was representative research subjects, namely fourth grade students at SDN Tegalayu Surakarta. The data analyzed is a narrative essay of students. Data collection techniques using document analysis, interviews, and observations. Test the validity of the data using technical triangulation and source triangulation and refers to the KBBI and PUEBI. The data analysis technique used interactive analysis techniques. The most problems were spelling and usage problems of 36.16%, followed by problems of changing word forms and meanings 35.03%, sentence problems 15.25% and language symptoms problems of 13.56%. The main causes of problems are (1) lack of understanding of students' linguistic rules, (2) lack of mastery of students' vocabulary, (3) low motivation and interest of students, (4) student accuracy. So that teachers need to plan learning strategies that can reduce the problems of using Indonesian in students.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the correlation between mastery of effective sentences and narrative writing skills; (2) determine the correlation between reading interest and narrative writing skills; and (3) investigate the correlation between the mastery of effective sentences and reading interest with the narrative writing skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 97 fifth-grade students from public elementary schools in Laweyan District during the 2024/2025 academic year, selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through a writing test to assess narrative writing skills, a multiple-choice test for mastery of effective sentences, and a questionnaire to measure reading interest. The data were analyzed using simple and multiple correlation techniques. The results showed significant positive correlation: (1) between mastery of effective sentences and narrative writing skills (; (2) between reading interest and narrative writing skills with ; and (3) simultaneously between both variables and narrative writing skills (. These findings suggest that both variables positively contribute to students’ writing proficiency. Instructional strategies should emphasize sentences construction and promote reading habits to improve students’ narrative writing skills.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) differences in pantun writing skills between students who are taught using the learning model Make A Match and learning model Think Pair Share (TPS), 2) differences in pantun writing skills between students who have high learning interest and low learning interest, 3) whether or not there is an interaction between the learning model and learning interest on students' pantun writing skills. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods and a 2x2 factorial research design. The research population consisted of all fifth grade students at State Elementary Schools in Ngadirojo District. Sample selection uses techniques cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques include tests and questionnaires. Data analysis used two-way ANOVA. The results of the research show that: 1) There are differences in pantun writing skills of students who are taught using the learning model Make A Match with students who are taught using a learning model Think Pair Share (TPS), because FA = 5,60 > Ftable = 4.08, 2) There is a difference in pantun writing skills of students who have high learning interest and students who have low learning interest, because FB = 144,6 > Ftable = 4.08, 3) There is an interaction between the learning model and learning interest towards pantun writing skills, because FAB = 14,26 > Ftable = 4,08.

Abstract

This study aims to prove the relationship between reading interest and reading comprehension ability with narrative writing skills in public elementary school students in Laweyan sub-district. This study was conducted in 4 public elementary schools in Laweyan sub-district. This type of research is a correlational quantitative study. The research subjects were 158 students. The data collection method was through tests and non-tests. The data analysis techniques used were simple correlation tests and multiple correlation tests. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between reading interest and reading comprehension ability with narrative writing skills in elementary school students. This is evidenced by the simple correlation coefficient value of reading interest with narrative writing skills of 0.421 (t = 5.796 > t table = 1.975). The simple correlation coefficient value of reading comprehension ability with narrative writing skills of 0.620 (t = 9.868 > t table = 1.975). The results of the hypothesis test between reading interest and reading comprehension skills together with narrative writing skills show that the multiple correlation coefficient value is 0.713 (F = 192,534 > F table = 3.05).

Abstract

The preparation of good photocathodes is a crucial issue regarding promoting the performance of photocatalytic fuel cell (PFC) systems for environmentally protective energy conversion approaches. In the present work, a comparative study of Cu₂O-based photocathodes jointly modified with graphitic carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) and bismuth vanadate (BiVO₄) was performed to ascertain their competence towards concomitant electricity generation and hydrogen evolution in an integrated single-chamber photocatalytic fuel cell. Cu substrates were anodized to produce ordered Cu₂O layers, modified with immersion treatments, and then low-temperature calcination. The as-prepared products were characterized in detail by XRD, HR-TEM, UV–Vis DRS, PL spectra, and XPS analyses, as well as photoelectrochemical measurements to gain insight into crystallinity, morphology, photocatalytic activity (optical absorption), electronic structure, and charge recombination. Results revealed that among the pristine Cu₂O and g-C₃N₄/Cu₂O, superior charge separation was exhibited on the BiVO₄/Cu₂O photocathode, along with better power density and hydrogen evolution. The highest power density of BiVO₄/Cu₂O was 0.05625 mW cm⁻² and 13.71 mmol.m⁻² for hydrogen evolution compared to both Cu₂O (0.0375 mW cm⁻²;11.19 mmol.m⁻²) and g-C₃N₄/Cu₂O (0.026 mW cm⁻²; 8.1616 mmol m-2). This observation was supported by the analysis of the photoluminescence spectra: BiVO₄/Cu₂O had PL intensity of 325 a.u., lower than Cu₂O (400 a.u.) and g-C₃N₄/Cu₂O (650 a.u.), validating that this sample more effectively suppressed electron–hole recombination and electron transport mechanism. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of BiVO₄/Cu₂O is associated with the generation of a p-n heterojunction, which accumulates a built-in electric field to drive effective charge separation and offers visible-light sensitization upon its larger absorption spectrum that is beneficial for not only promoting hydrogen evolution efficiency but also improving electricity production in PFC systems.

Abstract

This study investigated the simultaneous photocatalysis-electrocoagulation process using pumice-supported g-C3N4/BiOBr nanocomposites in seawater treatment to remove organic pollutants and generate hydrogen gas. The photocatalyst nanocomposite was synthesized via coprecipitation and immobilized on the pumice surface to enhance light exposure and facilitate catalyst recovery. The performance of the hybrid system was evaluated under various operational parameters, including applied voltage, seawater concentration, and pH. The results showed that the combined process outperformed the individual photocatalysis and electrocoagulation systems. Optimal performance was achieved at pH 3 and 15% seawater concentration, resulting in 99.37% methylene blue decolorization and 211 mL of hydrogen within 2 hours. At higher salinities and lower pH, increased coagulant formation caused a shadowing effect, limiting photocatalytic efficiency despite continued hydrogen evolution. The XPS (X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) characterization of the photocatalyst material, demonstrated the successful formation of a nanocomposite with a stable surface chemistry. Photoluminescence analysis confirmed that the charge separation mechanism could be enhanced, suppressing the recombination rate and being the primary reason for the enhanced photocatalysis process, although interfacial electronic interactions remained limited. Overall, this study demonstrates that the pumice-supported g-C₃N₄/BiOBr photocatalyst integrated with electrocoagulation provides an effective and stable platform for seawater-based hydrogen production and organic pollutant removal.

Abstract

The XYZ field in Jatibarang, West Java, processes 19 MMSCFD of gas with CO2 content over 60%, which does not meet the 8% CO2 limit required by the gas sales agreement. Traditional absorption technologies, while effective, have high energy demands. This study aims to optimize CO2 removal by combining membrane technology with aMDEA solvent-based absorption. Aspen Hysys software was used to simulate this combined approach, with aMDEA solvent chosen for its low corrosivity and high CO2 absorption rate. The membrane technology reduces CO2 levels initially, while the aMDEA solvent further lowers them to below 8%. Simulation results show that the combined system can reduce CO2 levels to 7.949% with a sweet gas flow rate of 7.108 MMSCFD. The process requires a membrane area of 4,611 m and 172,960 lb/hr of solvent. This approach offers an effective solution for gas sweetening in fields with high CO2 concentrations, providing a more energy-efficient alternative to traditional methods.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the effects of institutional trust, price spread, and religiosity on gold investment decisions among Muslim investors and investigates the mediating role of risk perception in explaining these relationships.Methodology – A quantitative, cross-sectional research design was employed using survey data collected from 314 Muslim investors in Lombok, Indonesia. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling, and the proposed research model was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.Findings – The results reveal that institutional trust, price spread, and risk perception have significant positive effects on gold investment decisions, with risk perception emerging as the strongest predictor of investment behavior. Institutional trust, price spread, and religiosity also significantly influence investors’ risk perceptions. Furthermore, risk perception significantly mediates the relationships between institutional trust, price spread, religiosity, and gold investment decisions, indicating that institutional, market-related, and religious factors primarily affect investment behavior through investors’ subjective evaluation of uncertainty.Implications – The findings suggest that Islamic financial institutions and gold investment providers should strengthen institutional credibility, improve pricing transparency, and reinforce Sharia-compliant practices to reduce perceived investment risk and encourage greater participation in gold investment among Muslim investors.Originality – This study extends the behavioral finance literature by integrating institutional, market-related, psychological, and religious factors into a single framework. Unlike previous studies that have examined these determinants separately or primarily in conventional financial settings, this research demonstrates that risk perception serves as the key psychological mechanism linking these factors to gold investment decisions among Muslim investors in an emerging Islamic financial market.
