Abstract

This study investigates the influence of principal leadership, infrastructure utilization, and administrative services on school effectiveness in public junior high schools in Tual City. Effective school management is essential for improving educational outcomes, particularly in regions where resources and leadership play a critical role in performance. The research involved 133 teachers and 318 students, selected through appropriate sampling techniques. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire covering four key variables: principal leadership, infrastructure use, administrative services, and school effectiveness. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, employing tests for normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity to ensure statistical validity. Findings revealed that principal leadership, infrastructure use, and administrative services were rated in the high category, with more than 86% of both teacher and student responses reflecting positive perceptions. Regression analysis showed a positive and significant combined effect of these three variables on school effectiveness, with results for teacher responses (F = 5.122, sig. = 0.00) and student responses (F = 32.334, sig. = 0.00) indicating strong statistical significance. These results emphasize the crucial role of leadership quality, efficient use of infrastructure, and strong administrative support in enhancing school effectiveness. The study underscores the need for targeted efforts in strengthening these areas to improve the overall quality of education in Tual City's junior high schools.

Abstract

Evaluation activities are part of the learning process at every level of education. The evaluation model or method also varies, from written tests to practical tests. Of the many evaluation methods, written evaluation or written test is an evaluation method that takes up a lot of paper, which is about 166 million pieces of paper for one national examination throughout Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to use a Computer Based Test (CBT) system that can be used as an alternative to overcome the problem of excessive paper use. The research method used in this study is R & D combined with ADDIE learning design concepts. This CBT system uses the PHP (Persolan Hypertext Preprocessor) programming language with a MySQL database connection to manage the content of the CBT system itself. This CBT system is intended for junior high / high school / vocational / equivalent levels with a trial percentage value of 83.34% for product validation test, 100% for operator user test and 88.94% for user test.

Abstract

Abstract

High school graduates need to have practical skills, especially in tax accounting, due to changes in the world of work. Many students are still confused about proper financial record-keeping and tax administration. Because of this situation, they are not prepared to meet the skill requirements needed by the industry. Therefore, SMAN 1 Kopo needs tax accounting training to provide students with relevant and practical skills. The community service activity "Tax Accounting Training for Entering the World of Work at SMAN 1 Kopo" aims to enhance students' knowledge and skills in tax accounting in accordance with the needs of the workforce. This activity began with an interactive seminar on the basics of taxation. Then, participants received hands-on training with simulations of simple accounting record-keeping, filling out tax returns, and using the e-filing application. To enhance their understanding, participants also engaged in group discussions and case studies. Pre-tests and post-tests were used to assess the students. The activity results showed that the students understood tax accounting better. A 45% increase in concept mastery occurred, from 25% on the pre-test to 70% on the post-test. This increase indicates that the practice-based learning and case study approach used during the training were highly effective. Students also became more confident in completing transaction journals and SPT simulations. This program successfully met its main objective, which was to prepare students from SMAN 1 Kopo to work with additional skills in tax accounting. This indicates that the socialisation and practical training methods successfully equipped students with tax accounting skills while also raising awareness of the importance of tax compliance.

Abstract

Anthocyanins are natural pigments known for their pH sensitivity, resulting in distinct chemical structures and color changes across different pH levels. This study investigated the potential of anthocyanin-rich extracts from four plant sources, namely Antidesma bunius (L.) Spreng fruit extract (AE), Syzygium cumini fruit extract (SE), Hibiscus x archeri Wats. flower extract (HE), and Etlingera hemisphaerica flower extract (EE) as natural indicators for food deterioration. The extracts were evaluated for total anthocyanin content (TAC), antioxidant activity (as DPPH radical scavenging), antibacterial activity (via disk diffusion), and pH sensitivity based on visible color changes across a pH range of 2–12. Among the tested samples, HE exhibited the highest TAC (88.89 ± 1.40 mg C3G/g extract) and antioxidant activity (25.46 ± 1.62 mg AEAC/g extract). HE (50%) demonstrated promising antibacterial inhibition against A. hydrophila, S. typhimurium, and L. monocytogenes, with inhibition zones of 9.07 ± 0.49 mm, 9.04 ± 1.12 mm, and 10.19 ± 0.80 mm, respectively. Moreover, HE demonstrated clear, visually perceptible color transitions across pH levels, supported by variations in ΔE and oHue. The ΔE value increased from 3 at pH 3 to 9.55 at pH 8, while oHue value shifted from 36.63 o to 345.96o. This significant change is linked to the extract’s clear colour transition, which is red at pH 3-6, purple at pH 7, and red-purple at pH 8. These results demonstrate the HE as a promising candidate for pH indicator of food deterioration monitoring, as evidenced by its sensitivity to pH fluctuation among the tested extracts.

Abstract

The study aims to learn what mathematical concepts are found in traditional game tools (hula hoop, the tray, and the kite) and to learn the contribution of ethnomathematics to traditional game tools for elementary school education. It was a qualitative study using an ethnographic approach. Research subjects were 7 elementary school students (a 3rd class student, three 4th graders, and three 6th graders) in the village neighborhood of sirnoboyo and two elementary school teachers (a class 4 teacher and a class 5 teacher). Sampling technique used to determine student subjects. The data collection methods used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis suggests that: 1) the traditional game hula hoop, the tray, and the kite were responsible for the mathematical concepts. The mathematical concept of the traditional game tool was line, Angle, point of view, and get up flat. 2) traditional game tools as hula hoop, bakiak, and kites have contributed as a source of mathematical learning at elementary school. 3) the character traditional game hula hoop, the bakiak, and the kite were self-sufficiency, confidence, teamwork, and unity.
