Abstract

In the era of globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, 21st-century education demands a transformation towards learner-centered approaches that are enjoyable, meaningful, and reflective. Fun-Based Learning (FBL) is a strategy that supports the implementation of deep learning, especially in Social Studies (IPS) education. This study aims to explore the perspectives of Social Studies teachers in Bandung City regarding the application of FBL as a strategy for deep learning. A descriptive qualitative method was employed involving 30 Social Studies teachers as respondents through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The results indicate that most teachers have yet to fully understand that FBL can effectively support deep learning. However, those who have implemented FBL acknowledge that this approach enhances students’ emotional engagement, motivation, and deep understanding of Social Studies material. These findings align with constructivist and humanistic learning theories emphasizing active, enjoyable, and reflective learning experiences. In conclusion, FBL is a relevant and effective strategy to strengthen deep learning in Social Studies education today, but improved teacher understanding and training are needed for optimal implementation in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum and 21st-century education demands.

Abstract

This article explores the strategic role of non-religious subject teachers in promoting religious moderation values at SMPN 1 Rengasdengklok, a school with students from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, the study investigates how these teachers integrate core values of moderation national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, and acceptance of local culture into general subject instruction. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analysed descriptively. The findings reveal that non-religious subject teachers successfully foster an inclusive and harmonious learning environment through contextual approaches, collaborative learning, and integration of local and national values. As a result, students show increased tolerance, a stronger sense of nationalism, and improved dialogical thinking. However, challenges remain, such as student intolerance, social media influence, and limited family support. Therefore, collaboration among schools, families, and communities, along with enhanced digital literacy and experiential learning, is essential to sustaining religious moderation practices. This study underscores the vital role of non-religious teachers as agents of moderation in shaping inclusive, peaceful, and patriotic student character.

Abstract

The tradition of visiting the ancestors is seen as a cultural heritage that is believed by indigenous people to respect their ancestors. This study focuses on identifying the values contained in the tradition of visiting the ancestors in contextual social studies learning. The method used is a qualitative research method using Roland Barthes' semiotic design. The results of this study indicate that the tradition of visiting the ancestors as a contextual learning resource in social studies subjects is able to increase the values of mutual cooperation, family, togetherness, spirituality, and love of culture. This tradition strengthens intergenerational relationships and has the values of mutual cooperation, family, togetherness, spirituality, and love of culture, making it relevant as a contextual learning resource in social studies.

Abstract

Islam is an open religion in the fields of science and culture, accommodating yet selective. Islam accepts science and culture that are in line with and do not contradict Islamic principles. Various cultures and customs inherited from ancestors have developed and assimilated with Islamic teachings. Local cultural wisdom must be preserved and maintained as long as it does not conflict with Islamic law. This study aims to identify Sundanese culture that contains religious and cultural values that are worth preserving from an Islamic perspective. The culture of a region is a reflection of that region's unique characteristics. Sundanese culture is known for its strong moral, spiritual, and humanitarian values, although there are negative elements that need to be filtered out. Cultural heritage such as Wayang Golek and Gembyung contain profound Islamic teachings and are still preserved by the community as a means of drawing closer to Allah SWT. Abstract

Statistical data from the coordinating ministry for human and cultural development in 2021 explains that as many as 2,197,833 children aged 5-19 years are people with disabilities, this is a challenge for Indonesia in the development and distribution of education throughout society. One aspect that can overcome this problem is an inclusive education system in every school with Islamic religious education being an integral part of this education system. Islamic religious education has an important role in developing the attitudes, values, morals, religious and social morals of children with disabilities in society. Therefore, this article will discuss the implementation of Islamic religious education learning at inclusive schools at Mutiara Bunda Elementary School. This research aims to analyze and provide information regarding the implementation of inclusive Islamic Religious Education which is already running well at Mutiara Bunda Elementary School. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection was carried out through observation of the PAI learning process, joint interviews with key informants consisting of school principals, Special Education Special Services (PKLK) coordinators, and PAI teachers and relevant literature studies. The conclusion of this article is that things that support the implementation of inclusive education in Islamic religious education are good school management and school communication with all related parties.

Abstract

Abstract: Various views on forms of tolerance in responding to diversity and differences, including race, culture, ethnicity, religion and language in Indonesia, are both facts and problems of social phenomena that emerge in modern life and influence the lives of religious communities. Tolerance is an attitude to make social life peaceful, harmonious and harmonious despite these differences. The aim of this research is to explore more deeply the three meanings of the concept of tolerance, namely pluralism, plurality and tolerance based on Al-Kafirun's letter. The results of this research found that plurality is the fact and reality of existing differences, pluralism is an attitude of seeing differences with equality - however, the concept of Islamic pluralism does not extend to religious pluralism because this is considered to exceed the limits and essence of the meaning of tolerance itself, and tolerance. in reviewing the interpretation of Al-Kafirun's letter in several books and figures, namely the attitude of appreciating, respecting, believing in religion without justifying or mixing up religious teachings. This research uses a literature study method by examining the writings of figures, the works of book and journal writers and the interpretation of Surah Al-Kafirun in tafsir books by several figures. It is hoped that this research can provide deeper insight, knowledge, attitudes and points of view regarding the meaning and nature of tolerance and provide a correct understanding of the attitudes that must be prioritized in responding to differences.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengeksplorasi peran filsafat dalam ilmu pengetahuan, menekankan fondasi epistemologis dan relevansinya di era modern. Filsafat memberikan dasar berpikir kritis dan sistematis yang penting untuk memahami konsep-konsep dasar serta prinsip etika yang membimbing perkembangan ilmu. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review sistematis untuk menganalisis sumber-sumber ilmiah yang relevan. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa filsafat berkontribusi signifikan dalam merumuskan masalah penelitian, mengembangkan metode ilmiah, dan mengevaluasi teori secara kritis. Filsafat juga berfungsi sebagai alat reflektif yang memastikan bahwa perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan berjalan secara rasional dan etis. State of the art merujuk pada studi-studi mutakhir yang menyoroti sinergi antara filsafat dan sains, seperti yang dicatat oleh Muzakir et al. (2024) dan Lubis et al. (2024). Penelitian ini memberikan analisis integratif yang mengisi kekosongan dalam literatur, menawarkan panduan praktis bagi pendidik dan peneliti. Implikasi penelitian ini mendorong kolaborasi interdisipliner dan pengembangan praktik ilmiah yang lebih etis dan kontekstual.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Ulul Ilmi Model in enhancing critical thinking skills and religious character among 21st-century students. A qualitative approach was used to development into the experiences and perspectives of students and educators in the application of this model. Data were collected through in- depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), and participatory observations. The participants in this study included students, teachers, and school staff who applied the Ulul Ilmi Model in their learning activities. The findings indicate that the application of this model is positive impacts the development of students ' critical thinking , reflected in their ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems more rationally. Additionally, this model too Strengths students ' religious character , as evidenced by an increase in spiritual awareness and moral values in their daily lives. This study concludes that the Ulul Ilmi Model can be an effective alternatives in 21st-century education to shape a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also has a strong religious character.
