Abstract

This research investigates the systematic development and implementation of coaching-based learning techniques aimed at addressing common language errors among elementary students. Utilizing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE model framework, this study demonstrates how coaching approaches can transform traditional error correction practices into student-centered learning opportunities. The research findings reveal significant reductions in grammatical, lexical, and phonological errors among participating students, with notable improvements in confidence and self-regulation skills. The coaching techniques developed through this structured process show particular effectiveness in fostering student autonomy and metacognitive awareness, enabling elementary learners to identify and address their own language errors more effectively than traditional correction methods. These findings contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting coaching-based pedagogies in elementary language education.

Abstract

Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) are an important part of Indonesia's democratic system. However, in practice, various violations often occur that threaten the integrity of elections, particularly administrative violations involving election organizers, election participants, and local government officials. This study aims to analyze the role of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in addressing administrative violations during the 2024 Pilkada in Serang District, as well as to identify the challenges and effectiveness of its handling mechanisms. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with purposive sampling techniques for selecting key informants. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and indirect observation. The research was conducted from February to June 2025 with a total of 12 informants comprising representatives from Bawaslu, Panwascam, KPU, academics, and election observers. The results of the study show that Bawaslu Serang Regency has carried out its supervisory function through preventive, curative, and repressive approaches, although it still faces obstacles in terms of evidence, limited executive authority, and low community involvement. There were 37 cases of violations handled, with the most common categories involving money politics and the lack of neutrality among village officials. Some cases have been referred to the Election Violation Investigation Agency (Gakkumdu), the Civil Service Commission (KASN), and related institutions. This study concludes that the role of the Election Supervisory Agency is significant but not yet optimal due to weak structural and legal support. Strengthening institutional capacity and reforming the mechanisms for handling violations are necessary to ensure more integrity in future elections.

Abstract

The first public debate of the 2024 Riau gubernatorial election is a significant political and linguistic event, where candidates utilize the debate platform to construct political credibility through discursive strategies. This study aims to describe and analyze the forms of commissive illocutionary speech acts, particularly promises, used by candidates during the debate. The focus is on identifying verbal commitments as indicators of future policy intentions. This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, with the primary data sourced from a 1-hour-59-minute debate video broadcast by Kompas TV. Data were collected through documentation and transcription methods, and analyzed using Searle’s (1969) speech act theory, specifically the commissive category. The data analysis followed the Miles & Huberman model through stages of reduction, display, and verification. The findings reveal that commissive speech acts, especially promises, dominate the candidates' communication strategies and fall into three thematic domains: (1) infrastructure & technology development, (2) improving welfare & poverty alleviation, and (3) governance & education integrity. Candidates frequently employ futuristic verbs such as “will” and “intend” as rhetorical tools to establish public trust. This study contributes to the field of political pragmatics and language literacy, especially in the context of regional political debates. However, the study is limited by its focus on a single debate session, without examining post-election promise fulfillment. Future research is encouraged to explore the gap between political utterances and policy implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to identify vocabulary learning strategy used, analysis repetition strategy implementation, examine effectiveness on vocabulary retention, and formulate an adaptive model for local contexts. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected from one primary and three supporting informants through interviews, observations, document analysis, and stimulated recall sessions. Analysis revealed that the primary informant developed a sophisticated multi – modal repetition system with four techniques; temporal spacing, multi – modal reinforcement, contextual variation, and self- testing. Developments factors included prior learning experiences, parental influence, teacher methodology, and assessment patterns. Thematic analysis yielded five themes: systematic organization, multimodal implementation, metacognitive awareness, contextual influences, and strategy evolution. This research strategies gaps in literature by examining vocabulary learning in rural coastal schools, adaption of repetition strategies to local contexts, and integration of traditional strategies with innovative elements under limited technological resources. Findings contribute to developing more inclusive vocabulary learning models for diverse educational contexts in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of character education at Pondok Pesantren Mathlaul Huda Ciparay, which combines formal and non-formal curriculum in shaping the character of students. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation methods and in-depth interviews with pesantren administrators and teachers. The results showed that character education at Pondok Pesantren Mathlaul Huda was carried out through the exemplary approach, strengthening moral values, and disciplinary training. The ustadz acts as a model of behaviour that shows discipline and responsibility, which is then imitated by the santri in their daily lives. In addition, special programmes such as Ta'lim wa Tarbiyah and mutual cooperation activities strengthen moral and social values in santri. The influence of this character education can be seen in the social attitudes of santri who are more tolerant, empathetic, and have high social responsibility. In conclusion, an integrated approach that includes moral knowledge, feelings, and actions at Mathlaul Huda Islamic Boarding School has succeeded in shaping the character of students holistically. This research suggests that the character education model in this pesantren can be applied in other educational institutions as an effort to build the character of the younger generation with integrity.

Abstract

The loss of motor vehicles in paid parking areas frequently occurs without clear accountability from parking operators. Many operators include liability exemption clauses on parking tickets, such as "loss is not the responsibility of the operator," which contradicts Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (UUPK). This study aims to examine the legal liability of parking operators for lost vehicles and to evaluate the effectiveness of the Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency (BPSK) in resolving consumer disputes. A normative juridical approach was employed, involving analysis of legislation, legal doctrines, and case studies. Data were collected through literature reviews, field observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that parking operators bear strict liability for vehicles under their care but frequently evade responsibility through invalid standard clauses. A case in Serang City revealed that a consumer who lost their vehicle received no compensation, despite presenting a valid parking ticket. Although the BPSK offers a non-litigation mechanism for dispute resolution, its effectiveness is limited by low participation from businesses and restricted authority. Strengthening regulations, enhancing the role of BPSK, and increasing consumer awareness are essential steps toward ensuring fair and effective legal protection.

Abstract

Poverty is one of the major problems for developing countries. Some theories say that the quality of human resources can be the main factor causing poverty. The quality of human resources can be seen from the Human Development Index (HDI). In this study, we want to know the influence of the Gender Development Index and Human Development Index on poverty in 15 provinces in Indonesia. This study uses a combination of cross section data with time series in 15 provinces in Indonesia during 2018-2022. The data analysis method used is Panel Data Regression with the help of Eviews 12. The results of this study prove that the Gender Development Index has no positive and significant effect on poverty. The Human Development Index has a negative effect on poverty as well.
