Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the level of scientific argumentation skills among biology students using Toulmin’s Argument Pattern (TAP) framework. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using essay questions designed to elicit key components of scientific argumentation. The participants consisted of 82 undergraduate students enrolled in a Genetics course during the even semester of the 2025 academic year. Data were collected through an essay test developed based on Genetics-related topics. Data analysis focused on the presence of TAP components and the classification of students’ levels of scientific argumentation. The results reveal that students’ scientific argumentation skills remain low, with 47.56% of students categorized at Level 1 and 30.5% at Level 2. Analysis of TAP component distribution indicates that 91.46% of students were able to state claims; however, these claims were predominantly unsupported by warrants or reasoning that meaningfully connected the evidence to the conclusions. The low levels of scientific argumentation observed reflect limitations in students’ critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills. Therefore, the implementation of instructional models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and TAP-guided formative assessment strategies is recommended to enhance students’ scientific argumentation abilities.

Abstract

This study provides an integrated analysis of the effects of work discipline, quality of work life, and self-efficacy on the performance of Early Childhood Education teachers in Gunung Sindur District, with particular emphasis on identifying the most influential determinant of performance. Using a quantitative survey design, data were collected from teachers selected through purposive sampling based on predefined professional criteria. Structured questionnaires were administered and analyzed using multiple regression techniques to examine both partial and simultaneous relationships among the variables. The findings reveal that all three variables significantly and positively influence teacher performance; however, self-efficacy emerges as the dominant predictor, indicating that teachers’ belief in their own capabilities plays a more decisive role than organizational or environmental factors alone. This integrated evidence underscores that while supportive working conditions and discipline remain important, strengthening teachers’ self-efficacy is central to optimizing performance. The study contributes to the literature by highlighting self-efficacy as a key leverage point in improving early childhood teacher performance and suggests that institutional policies and professional development programs should prioritize strategies that enhance teachers’ confidence, autonomy, and professional competence to improve the overall quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

This study examined the effects of self-efficacy and transformational leadership on teacher motivation and performance in Public Elementary School Cluster 9, Pamulang Regency. Specifically, it analyzed the direct influence of self-efficacy and transformational leadership on teacher performance, the effect of motivation on performance, and the mediating role of motivation. A quantitative approach with descriptive and associative methods was used, involving 165 teachers selected from a population of 280 using the Slovin formula. Data were analyzed with SPSS. The results indicated that self-efficacy and transformational leadership both had positive and significant direct effects on teacher performance. Teacher motivation also positively influenced performance, confirming its role in supporting teacher effectiveness. Additionally, self-efficacy and transformational leadership positively affected teacher motivation, demonstrating that internal factors and leadership practices contribute to enhancing motivation. Although self-efficacy and transformational leadership indirectly influenced performance through motivation, this mediating effect was smaller than the direct effects, suggesting that motivation partially mediates the relationship. Overall, the findings highlight that self-efficacy and transformational leadership play a dominant role in improving teacher performance, while motivation strengthens performance outcomes. These results emphasize the importance of fostering teacher confidence and effective leadership to enhance educational quality in public elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership, teacher motivation, and organizational culture on teacher performance at Private Vocational Schools in Cluster Three of South Tangerang City, as well as to examine the role of organizational culture as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an associative design was employed, involving 153 teachers selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, tested for validity and reliability, and analyzed using multiple linear regression and path analysis. The findings indicate that transformational leadership, teacher motivation, and organizational culture have a significant positive direct effect on teacher performance (β = 0,216; 0,333; 0,250). Transformational leadership and teacher motivation also enhance organizational culture (β = 0.572; 0.255); however, the indirect effects through organizational culture are relatively small (β = 0.143; 0.064), making it a less effective mediator. Improving teacher performance is more effectively achieved through strengthening transformational leadership and teacher motivation directly, while organizational culture serves as a supporting factor.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of principal academic supervision, teacher self-efficacy, and organizational culture on teacher performance in private vocational schools in South Tangerang, Indonesia. Using a quantitative associative design, 118 teachers were sampled from 11 schools. Data were collected through validated questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression and path analysis. Results show that academic supervision has the strongest direct effect on teacher performance (β = 0.801, p < 0.05), followed by organizational culture (β = 0.615, p < 0.05) and self-efficacy (β = 0.438, p < 0.05). Academic supervision and self-efficacy also positively influence organizational culture (β = 0.305 and 0.174, p < 0.05). However, indirect effects through organizational culture (0.188 and 0.107) are smaller than direct effects, indicating that organizational culture acts more as a supportive factor than a mediator. The study highlights the importance of strengthening supervision and self-efficacy while fostering a positive organizational culture to enhance teacher performance. The findings provide practical guidance for school leaders and policymakers to improve professional development and school effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze efforts to combat sexual violence using the Speak Up approach and the factors influencing it in Makassar. This study employed an empirical approach, collecting primary and secondary data obtained through literature review and interviews with relevant parties, namely the Makassar City Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Office. The data were then processed descriptively and qualitatively. The results indicate that the Speak Up Program implemented by the Makassar City Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Office is a preemptive effort to combat sexual violence because it focuses on raising awareness, strengthening the initial reporting system, and reducing social barriers for victims so that acts of sexual violence can be prevented or intervened as early as possible. Preventive action is taken by increasing awareness, education, and early reporting to prevent crimes of sexual violence. Repressive action is taken by encouraging victims and the community to report cases immediately so that cases can be followed up by law enforcement. The implementation of the Speak Up Program is significantly impacted by several inhibiting factors, including negative stigma against victims, lack of access to information, limited resources, pressure from external parties, and the impartiality of law enforcement officials.

Abstract

Educator performance is a key determinant of educational quality in special needs schools, where teaching demands are characterized by high emotional labor, complex instructional responsibilities, and intensive student support. However, empirical studies that examine educator performance through an integrated organizational and psychological perspective particularly focusing on work discipline, work stress, and job satisfaction remain limited in the context of private special needs institutions. This study aimed to analyze the effects of work discipline, work stress, and job satisfaction on educator performance at Talenta Center Special Needs Schools. A quantitative survey design was employed, involving 134 educators selected as respondents. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that work discipline and job satisfaction had positive and significant effects on educator performance, while work stress had a negative and significant effect. These findings indicate that educator performance in special needs schools is shaped by the interaction of organizational discipline, psychological well-being, and work-related pressures. The study highlights the importance of strengthening work discipline, implementing effective stress management strategies, and fostering job satisfaction to enhance educator performance and support the delivery of high-quality special education services.
