This research is carried out through a qualitative approach with a literature study approach. The preparation of the article is carried out by examining various sources that are directly related to the focus of this research. The main sources of research data are reference books and research articles published in various scientific journals and indexed by google scholar. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of the analysis are that Islamic education has an influence on socio-culture, in the sense of providing philosophical insights, direction of views, behavioral motivations, and guidelines for change until the formation of a new social reality. The renewal of NU education is a mirror of the modernity of Islamic boarding school educators who are trying to bring their citizens to a new perspective in the field of education, as a means of maximizing Islamic teaching educational activities in the modern period. Reform in learning among the community, both formal schools and Islamic boarding schools, has progressed in learning methods not only using the memorization method in learning but also including lecture methods, discussion methods, Tahzib wa Targib methods (advising and reprimanding), question-answer methods, so that learning methods for students or students no longer use the memorization method alone, but combine the methods according to what is learned

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the functions of educational institutions, especially Islamic education, both formal, informal and non-formal. This research uses literature study research. Data is collected through literature studies that are in line with the discussion. The results of this study indicate that the purpose of Islamic education is to create people who are aware of their God. Islamic education can be pursued in three ways in accordance with Law No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System, namely; (1) Formal ways such as, MI, MTs, MA, and Islamic Universities, (2) Non-formal ways such as, Book Reading Training Institutions, TPQ, TPA, and so on, (3) Informal ways such as, Family Education and Community Education. It is not enough to develop the world of education through formal channels alone, but these three channels must work together to develop the world of education. One of the reasons for this is the increasing number of young people who are unable to continue their education. Employment, especially in the private sector, has developed quite rapidly and more than the development of the public sector

Abstract

Abstract

The concept of ukhuwah (brotherhood) in Islam is a fundamental value that teaches the importance of brotherhood, solidarity, and harmony among humanity. Broadly speaking, ukhuwah is divided into several types: ukhuwah insaniyah (human brotherhood), ukhuwah Islamiyah (brotherhood among Muslims), ukhuwah wathaniyah (national brotherhood), and ukhuwah manusiaiyah (brotherhood among all creatures). Each of these types of ukhuwah has basic principles that lead to the formation of harmonious and mutually supportive social relationships within society. However, in this modern era full of challenges, the values of ukhuwah face various challenges, such as the emergence of divisions and conflicts between Muslims, between religions, and between ethnic groups. This article will also discuss the application of the principle of ukhuwah in addressing contemporary issues, such as increasing solidarity, tolerance, and harmony in a multicultural society. The application of the principle of ukhuwah is expected to be a solution to improve social relations amidst existing differences, create peace, and strengthen a sense of unity and oneness in an increasingly pluralistic global society.

Abstract

Studying the history of Islam in Indonesia is an interesting topic of research and study. However, it is not easy to trace the history of the entry of Islam into the archipelago. There is a lot of literature discussing the history of Islam in Indonesia. However, some information about the history of Islam in Indonesia is still based on the literature of Western scholars. Of course, this information still raises questions and doubts among various parties, especially among Islamic historians. For this reason, this paper will discuss further the theory of the entry of Islam in Indonesia, the strategy of spreading Islam in Indonesia, and Islamic education in the early days in Aceh Darussalam. The results of this study indicate that the theory of the arrival of Islam in the archipelago is based on its place of origin, namely the Arabic theory, the Chinese theory, the Persian theory, the Indian theory and the Turkish theory. The spread of Islam in Indonesia was mostly carried out through trade, preaching, marriage, education, and the Islamization of culture. In Aceh, most of the ulama are graduates of Islamic boarding schools. Acehnese society is strongly influenced by religious institutions that function as social controllers. Religious institutions such as Islamic boarding schools are places of education to form noble morals. The values and attitudes of the Acehnese people reflect Islamic character in almost all aspects. Those who became militant clerics were born through dayah education, and they were able to lead the community towards religious deepening and the process of Islamization. At that time, the government institutions responsible for education and science in Aceh were Balai Seutia Hukama, Balai Seutia Ulama, and Balai Jamaah Himpunan Ulama.

Abstract

Islamic education during the decline of the medieval period, which lasted from the 13th to the 18th centuries, was marked by intellectual stagnation, the weakening of centers of learning, and the dominance of conservative traditions in Islamic thought. Factors that caused this decline included foreign invasions, such as the Mongol invasion that destroyed Baghdad in 1258, the weakening of Islamic political power, and reliance on traditional teaching methods such as memorization without critical understanding. Nevertheless, Islamic education continued to play an important role in maintaining the tradition of learning and spirituality through institutions such as the madrasah. Madrasahs during this period focused more on the study of Islamic jurisprudence and religious sciences, so they paid less attention to rational sciences such as philosophy, astronomy, and medicine, which had previously flourished during the Golden Age of Islam.

Abstract

Efforts to renew Islamic education range from Islamic boarding schools, madrasas to elite Islamic schools. All of these have different backgrounds and of course this renewal is carried out so that Islamic educational institutions are known as quality institutions and play an optimal role in accordance with the expectations of society, this renewal effort is also so that the role of Islamic educational institutions can change from initially only processing in the interests of the afterlife, to being able to touch the field of worldly knowledge and can already place various fields of science and technology in the appropriate place. This study is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study show that the factors that led to the emergence of the Revival in the field of Islamic education include the socio-religious situation of Egyptian society at that time which was full of taqlid, heresy and superstition as well as static thinking. Like Al-Afghani, Abduh saw that one of the causes of the backwardness of Muslims which was very concerning was the loss of intellectual tradition which in essence was freedom of thought. Three patterns of thought on Islamic educational renewal, the three patterns are the pattern of Islamic educational renewal that is oriented towards modern educational patterns in the West, which is oriented towards the renewal of Islamic education based on pure Islamic sources, and the pattern of educational renewal efforts that are oriented towards nationalism.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between Islam and culture through three main focuses. First, the research explores the role of culture in shaping the religious practices and social ethics of Muslims. Culture acts as a medium that influences how individuals understand religious teachings and perform worship. Second, the study examines the dialogue between basic Islamic values and local culture through the process of acculturation. The analysis shows that the interaction between the two results in patterns of acceptance, adaptation, or correction of local customs. Challenges often arise when cultural values conflict with principles of faith and morality. Third, the research assesses Islam's ability to adapt in a global context and its contribution to humanity and modern civilization. Islam promotes an ethic of justice, moderation, and social responsibility that is relevant to global issues. This study illustrates that Islam is dynamic and capable of dialogue with various cultures as long as it does not conflict with the basic principles of sharia.
