Abstract

Every Indonesian citizen has the right to get a decent job as stated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Article 27 paragraph (2), however, due to limited job opportunities in Indonesia, many Indonesian citizens choose to work abroad. Therefore, the government has facilitated access to work abroad. Then, because of the increasing number of cases of human trafficking that occur among workers from Indonesia which is caused by the massive distribution of illegal labor, there are also legal regulations that regulate this matter, namely Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning Eradication of the Criminal Act of Trafficking in Persons and Government Regulation Number 46 of 2015 concerning Handling Victims of Human Trafficking Crimes. The method used is normative juridical research which focuses on das sein and das sollen, accompanied by data analysis of human trafficking cases to find out the factors of increasing cases of human trafficking in workers in Indonesia, then provide solution suggestions for the government to reduce the problem of illegal labor distribution. with a mass outreach program to the public containing an explanation of the legal protection of migrant workers, the risks of illegal workers, as well as legal conditions for working abroad.

Abstract

Abstract

The world of work considers that graduates with high competence are those who have technical skills, soft skills and good behavior. In addition to attaching importance to the aspect of ability to acquire and work together to compete in the labor market competition, the concept of personal branding is important as a tool to win the competition. A friendly and always confident character coupled with problem-solving skills has become a personal branding for a student to be ready to face competition in the world of work. In addition to personal branding in the real world, it turns out that personal branding in cyberspace is no less important as a digital footprint that continues to be recorded. The current aspect of social media is quite a consideration for new HR recruiters in every company. The collection of research data was carried out online through a google form using a structured questionnaire. A total of 52 research samples were recruited using the purposive sampling method. This study uses the SmartPLS statistical analysis tool to process data. The results of the study show that soft skills and social media from students have a significant positive effect on student work readiness. Meanwhile, daily behavior is considered to have no effect on students' work readiness. The value of R2 = 0.471 explains that around 47% of the variance of the student work readiness variable is caused by the soft skill variable and student social media in the model.

Abstract

Adaptive reuse of existing high-rise buildings often introduces severe vertical mass irregularities, particularly when functional changes significantly increase live loads. Unlike previous studies that typically isolate the effects of vertical irregularity or soft soil, this research distinctly quantifies the compounded detriment of top-heavy adaptive reuse, specifically on soft soil sites. This study conducts a forensic seismic assessment of a 15-story reinforced concrete frame that was converted from an office to an archive storage facility, where live loads increased from 2.4 kN/m² to 7.18 kN/m² on the upper floors. Using Nonlinear Static Procedures according to ASCE 41-17 with semi-rigid diaphragm modeling, the structural response is evaluated under Site Class SE conditions. The analysis reveals a "Gravity Strangle" mechanism, where excessive gravity loads from the archive storage consume a significant portion of the primary beam capacity before seismic excitation. The results demonstrate a critical discrepancy: while the global roof drift (1.56%) suggests safe Immediate Occupancy (IO) performance, the maximum inter-story drift spiked to 3.18% at the transition floors. Component-level analysis further reveals that 35% of primary beams at this level suffer severe plastic hinge rotations. These findings confirm that for top-heavy buildings on soft soil, relying solely on global drift indicators is deceptive. The study advocates for mandatory nonlinear component-level verification in future adaptive reuse codes to prevent brittle soft-story failures.

Abstract

Abstract Child molestation cases in Pati City were recorded at a total of seven incidents between 2021 and 2023. Most of the perpetrators admitted that the victim was their underage girlfriend. This phenomenon indicates a shift in societal values that tend to tolerate romantic relationship with minors, thereby increasing the risk of sexual violence against children. The focus in this research focus on the factors that contribute to the occurrence of criminal act of child molestation and the struggle of the law enforcement. The research method used is a sociological approach with the type of empiric research. The results of this research show, first, that the factors causing the criminal act of child molestation in Pati City include individual, environmental, and family factors. Second, the enforcement of the law against child molestation is carried out by Polresta Pati through preemptive, preventive, and repressive measures. The struggle encountered by Polresta Pati in law enforcement include uncommunicative victims, the reported suspect who denies the accusation, delayed reporting resulting in the absence of medical evidence, and the lack of witnesses and evidence due to the incident occurring in a private setting.

Abstract

The construction industry is a leading economic sector in the province of DKI Jakarta that positively contributes to its economic growth. As a province with the highest construction value in Indonesia, it used the design-build (DB) method as a project delivery system to optimize infrastructure projects. However, the DB project in DKI Jakarta had experienced some completion delays that could lead to project costs overrun. This study used a concurrent embedded (mixed method) design, with quantitative as the primary approach. The data collected through interviews, documentary studies, and questionnaire surveys of 50 practitioners in the construction field. This study found that utility disruption negatively influenced time and cost performance, while third-party risk did not affect. Besides, there was inadequate and inaccurate information conveyed to the contractor. It caused inappropriate risk identification that influenced the design, methods, and a working schedule that affected project performance. Furthermore, to ensure optimal project delivery, the government, as the project owner, needed to validate the information provided and coordinated the disruption handling before the project began.

Abstract

Cucumber is a horticultural commodity with a wide market share and high consumer demand. This study aimed to obtain preliminary information on the yield performance of several hybrid cucumber genotypes and to identify the genotypes with the best yield potential. The experiment was conducted using a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with a single factor, namely cucumber genotype, consisting of eight treatments: five hybrid genotypes (KE-6404, KE-6405, KE-6408, KE-6412, and KE-6414) and three commercial check varieties (Hercules Plus F1, Zatavy F1, and Mercy F1). Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the evaluated genotypes and check varieties exhibited leaf shapes classified as angular or pointed. The basic fruit skin colors observed included 5 GY 3/4, 5 GY 4/6, 7.5 GY 3/4, and 7.5 GY 4/6, with fruit bases either blunt or pointed, and no bitterness detected at the fruit base. Fruit tip shapes varied among rounded, pointed, and blunt forms. Among the tested materials, genotype KE-6414 demonstrated higher yield potential compared to the other genotypes and produced fruit number per plant, fruit weight, fruit weight per plant, and yield per hectare comparable to the commercial varieties Hercules F1 and Mercy F1.

Abstract

Breeding programs need genotypic variation to make a selection and create a promising variety. Hybridization in plants produces genetic variations in the offspring to select Robusta coffee as superior planting material. The maternal-effect and combining ability help determine the next breeding strategy. This study aimed to determine the maternal effect and the combining ability on the morphological characters of branches and leaves of Robusta coffee diallel crosses. The study involved six groups of F1 offspring and their reciprocals from three parents, namely clones BP961, Q121, and BP409, which were planted singly side in the Kaliwining Experimental Garden, Jember, East Java. The estimation of female parental effect was analyzed using a t-test, and combining ability was analyzed using diallel analysis method III. The analysis results showed that the female parental effect occurred on the character of the internode length in all cross combinations and did not occur on stipule length, petiole length, leaf length, and leaf width. The parent of the cross that can be the best combiner was parent BP961 for the petiole length and leaf length, parent Q121 for stipule length and internode length, and parent BP409 for leaf width character.
