Abstract

The increasing integration of technology in primary education has led to a rapid growth of scholarly publications on educational technology implementation across diverse contexts. However, this expanding body of literature remains fragmented, as it has not been comprehensively examined from an educational technology perspective. The absence of systematic mapping limits a holistic understanding of global research trends in this field. Therefore, this study aims to analyze trends in the implementation of educational technology in primary schools using a bibliometric approach based on Scopus-indexed publications. This study employs a bibliometric research design to systematically map long-term developments over a 25-year period (2000–2025). The methodological framework follows five stages: data retrieval, eligibility screening, data cleaning, bibliometric mapping, and statistical as well as network analysis. Data were collected using the keywords “educational technology” AND “elementary school” and analyzed using VOS viewer (version 1.6.20) and the Bibliometrics R package (version 5.0), with term harmonization applied to ensure analytical consistency. The findings reveal a steady increase in publications, with an annual growth rate of 6.08% and a high coefficient of determination (R² = 0.849), indicating that the field is in a growth phase approaching maturity. A total of 6,125 authors contributed, with an average of 3.74 co-authors per document and an international collaboration rate of 13.55%. Recent keywords highlight digital and AI technologies, while long-standing themes emphasize learning enhancement.

Abstract

Abstract: Student engagement is an important indicator of learning effectiveness; however, various reports show that active student participation in Indonesia remains low. This literature review analyzes the role of humanistic psychology based learning strategies in enhancing student engagement across cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions. Humanistic psychology, rooted in the ideas of Maslow and Rogers, emphasizes the fulfillment of basic needs, authentic interpersonal relationships, and emotionally safe learning environments as the foundation of meaningful learning. The findings of the literature review indicate that strategies providing autonomy, empathetic communication, reflective learning, and contextual learning experiences can enhance intrinsic motivation, learning interest, and students’ active participation. Several studies also highlight that the quality of teacher student relationships is a decisive factor in engagement, particularly through emotional support, constructive feedback, and a positive classroom climate. In the digital era, the integration of technology that preserves humanistic values has also been shown to strengthen student engagement. Overall, these findings suggest that the humanistic approach makes a significant contribution to improving student engagement and is relevant for application in modern education. This research provides a theoretical and empirical foundation for developing learning practices that are more humanistic, empowering, and oriented toward learners’ needs.   Keywords: humanistic psychology, learning strategies, student engagement, intrinsic motivation

Abstract

Abstract: Social cohesion is a critical foundation for the realization of meaningful inclusive education; however, challenges such as prejudice, isolation, and unequal group dynamics often hinder its development in the classroom. This conceptual article argues that unplugged pedagogy can serve as an effective and contextual medium to operationalize the core principles of social psychology in building social cohesion. By synthesizing key theories such as the Contact Hypothesis, Social Interdependence Theory, and Social Identity Theory, the article outlines three integration mechanisms: (1) facilitating positive and equal intergroup contact through structured simulations and role-playing; (2) fostering a common ingroup identity through collaborative projects and cooperative problem-solving; and (3) reducing stereotype threat through reflective dialogue and the creation of inclusive classroom norms. A conceptual framework is proposed to map the systematic relationship between psychosocial principles, unplugged activity design, and expected outcomes in classroom climate. This framework serves as a hypothesis that requires further empirical testing. As an integration, the conceptual framework offers a theoretically grounded, practical, and sustainable approach to transforming social dynamics in inclusive classrooms. Its practical implications are directed toward educators in designing learning activities, as well as policymakers and curriculum developers in advancing inclusive education that is not only adaptive but also socially transformative. Abstract

Abstract: Changes in the evolving demands of the global workforce have prompted the higher education sector to respond through micro-credential programs, which aim to bridge the gap between formal education and industry. This study seeks to analyze the alignment between the implementation of micro-credentials in Indonesia and the latest definition of educational technology approved by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) in 2023. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review, the study examines policy documents, reports from international organizations, and scientific articles published within the last five years. The findings reveal that micro-credentials in Indonesia demonstrate strong alignment in the dimensions of performance improvement and strategic design, partial alignment in learner empowerment, and significant gaps in the ethical dimension, particularly concerning data privacy and equity of access. The study concludes that micro-credentials in Indonesia are on the right track, but greater emphasis is needed on data governance, quality assurance, and curriculum integration to achieve full alignment with the AECT 2023 paradigm.   Keywords: Micro-Credentials, Educational Technology, Learner Empowerment, Strategic Design, Ethics

Abstract

Abstract : This study analyzes the application of Hamka’s educational method particularly the use of dialogue-based discussion and moral cultivation (akhlak) as a foundation for developing students’ digital ethics and moral literacy in the contemporary technological era. This research employs a qualitative library-research approach using thematic analysis of Hamka’s major works and relevant scholarly articles. The findings indicate that Hamka’s concept of discussion, which emphasizes open dialogue, rational inquiry, and deep understanding, is highly relevant for digital-age education in fostering critical thinking, ethical awareness, and the ability to evaluate the moral implications of online behavior. Meanwhile, Hamka’s emphasis on akhlak including honesty, etiquette, responsibility, and self-restraint functions as a value-based framework to guide digital ethical conduct in addressing misinformation, hate speech, and moral degradation in online environments. This study concludes that integrating discussion-based learning with moral cultivation offers a contextual and comprehensive model for digital moral education suited to the needs of 21st-century learners. It contributes to Islamic education theory in the digital era and provides an implementable model for teachers to nurture civilized, ethical digital behavior among students. Abstract

Abstract: Online learning in higher education often faces the problem of increasing students’ cognitive load due to poorly structured and excessive material presentation. One potential strategy to address this issue is microlearning. This study aims to analyze the use of TikTok as a microlearning medium in managing students’ cognitive load in online learning. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach conducted in the Design and Innovation of Learning course within the Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Insan Budi Utomo during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, involving 41 students. Learning was carried out over six sessions using TikTok-based microlearning curated through Padlet. Data were collected using a cognitive load questionnaire covering intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load, and then analyzed descriptively. The results show that intrinsic cognitive load was at a moderate level, extraneous cognitive load was at a low level, and germane cognitive load was at a high level. These findings indicate that TikTok-based microlearning can reduce irrelevant cognitive load while simultaneously fostering students’ understanding processes in online learning.   Keywords: Microlearning; TikTok; Cognitive Load; Online Learning; Educational Psychology

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the role of self-efficacy in the effectiveness of technology-based learning through a systematic literature review designed to identify patterns, contributing factors, and pedagogical implications across studies. The research method involved selecting articles through a rigorous screening procedure using PRISMA standards, resulting in a set of relevant studies that were then thematically analyzed. The findings indicate that self-efficacy functions as a key psychological factor mediating the relationship between technology use and learning outcomes, particularly by enhancing motivation, engagement, persistence, and self-regulation. The development of self-efficacy is supported by the quality of digital learning design, structured success experiences, social support in the learning process, and learners’ technopedagogical competence. The study concludes that the effectiveness of technology-based learning does not depend on the platform used, but rather on learning experiences designed to foster learners’ confidence. It recommends strengthening instructional design, improving learner competence, and expanding research across different educational levels to deepen understanding of the role of self-efficacy in digital learning contexts.   Keywords: Self-Efficacy, Technology-Based Learning, Instructional Design, Learning Effectiveness, Educational Technology

Abstract

The teaching of Solar System material at SMP Wahidiyah Kepanjen rarely utilizes technology-based media, resulting in incomplete material, passive learning activities, and suboptimal cognitive learning outcomes. However, students are familiar with smartphones, making Android-based mobile learning a viable solution to enhance their understanding. This study employs the Lee & Owens development model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. To assess the instruments used, validity and reliability tests were conducted. The validity test results showed that the calculated r value exceeded the r table value (0.374 for N = 29), confirming that all 20 tested items were valid. A reliability test using Cronbach’s Alpha was also conducted, yielding a value of 0.489, higher than 0.374, indicating the instrument’s reliability. Expert validation showed high validity scores, with material experts rating 97.5% and media experts 95%. A small-scale trial with three students resulted in a 97.5% validity score and an N-Gain of 0.84 (high category). A larger test with 26 students yielded an 88.9% validity score and an N-Gain of 0.58 (moderate category). The findings suggest that Android-based mobile learning is highly effective for individual learners, as seen in the higher N-Gain score from the small-scale trial.
