Abstract

Plastic bottle caps are a commonly discarded household waste despite their potential for reuse due to the thermoplastic properties of HDPE and PP materials. These plastics can be reshaped when heated, allowing them to be transformed into functional and aesthetic products. This activity aimed to apply the principles of the 3R concept particularly reuse and recycle by converting discarded bottle caps into character-themed keychains. The process involved several stages, including material collection, heating with an iron using baking paper as a barrier, molding with silicone forms, trimming, and assembling the keychain components. Thermoforming was selected as the primary technique because it is simple, safe, and compatible with the behavior of thermoplastic materials that soften under moderate heat. The results indicate that bottle caps can be successfully reshaped into durable and visually appealing keychains. Beyond producing a functional product, the activity enhanced creativity, manual skills, and environmental awareness regarding plastic waste utilization. Thus, converting bottle caps through thermoforming demonstrates a practical upcycling approach that reduces waste generation while producing items with functional and economic value.

Abstract

Multatuli Area 4 is highly susceptible to flooding due to its close location to the Deli River and inadequate environmental management, which exacerbate the risk during the rainy season. Despite this vulnerability, community preparedness remains limited, leaving residents exposed to potential damage and loss. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews and direct observations with purposively selected informants who have knowledge of local flooding experiences. The findings reveal that while residents are generally able to recognize early signs of flooding, their responses are largely reactive rather than proactive. Several factors contribute to this low level of preparedness, including limited perception of risk, insufficient economic capacity to implement preventive measures, declining social cohesion and cooperation, and underutilization of available mitigation facilities and infrastructure. These conditions highlight the need for improved community awareness, better access to resources, and strengthened disaster management strategies to enhance flood preparedness in Multatuli Area 4.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a form of solid waste originating from synthetic polymer materials that are difficult to decompose naturally and pose serious threats to environmental sustainability. Its accumulation continues to increase, causing pollution of soil, water, and ecosystems. In general, public attention is often limited to waste disposal and management activities without addressing preventive measures or innovative solutions at the source of the problem. This study aims to increase public awareness of plastic waste processing as an alternative approach to reducing the growing volume of plastic waste generated daily. One promising method explored in this research is the utilization of plastic waste as a raw material for producing environmentally friendly construction bricks. The study applied a simple descriptive experimental approach through direct practical activities, including the collection of plastic waste, processing and melting procedures, molding processes, and drying stages. The results demonstrate that plastic waste can be transformed into bricks with adequate physical strength and mechanical properties that comply with basic building standards. Therefore, this method has the potential to support sustainable waste management while providing alternative construction materials.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of parental enthusiasm in participating in the parenting program at Cahaya Bunda Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in Sumber Agung Village, resulting in low attendance and limited understanding of the program's purpose. Additionally, low levels of children's independence were observed, often characterized by crying and shyness during parenting sessions. This study aims to determine the effect of the parenting program on children's independence at Cahaya Bunda PAUD in Sumber Agung Village. This research uses a quantitative correlational method. The data collection instrument was a validated questionnaire. The subjects consisted of 52 children and 52 parents, selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression, coefficient of determination, and t-test with SPSS Statistics 26. The results showed that the success rate of the parenting program was 42.30% (score range 36–44), while children's independence was 30.76% (score range 23–31). The normality test result was sig. 0.200, and the linearity test was sig. 0.099, indicating that the data met the analysis requirements. Hypothesis testing showed r count < r table (0.075 < 0.279) and t count < t table (0.596 < 1.684), leading to the acceptance of H₀. It is concluded that the parenting program does not have a significant effect on children's independence at Cahaya Bunda PAUD in Sumber Agung Village.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology and information systems has a significant impact on various organizations, both in the private and government sectors. This study aims to design an enterprise architecture using the TOGAF ADM framework in the training process in the SME sector at the Cooperatives and SMEs Service. This process was chosen because it is still done manually, resulting in obstacles such as slow data management, lack of transparency, and minimal integration between work units. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and document analysis, which were then analyzed using the TOGAF ADM stages, including the Preliminary, Architecture Vision, and Business Architecture phases. The results of the study show that the proposed architectural design can overcome the constraints of the manual training process by presenting an integrated digital solution. This solution can accelerate the training management process, increase transparency, and strengthen coordination between work units.

Abstract

Pantun, as a form of traditional oral literature, plays a crucial role in the development of regional literature learning and character education. This study aims to analyze the application of pantun as a learning medium capable of revitalizing students' character values ​​in the modern era. The study was conducted through a literature review of several relevant scientific articles, including those by Purnama et al. (2023), Andayani (2024), Yoga (2024), and Rozani (2025), all of which discuss the relationship between pantun, learning, and character development. The analysis shows that pantun contains character values ​​such as religiosity, honesty, responsibility, courtesy, hard work, and love of country. Through pantun reciprocal activities, the creation of thematic pantun, and the integration of pantun into a local wisdom-based curriculum, regional literature learning can be an effective means of developing polite, creative, and cultured personalities. The application of pantun in the classroom not only strengthens appreciation for regional literature but also serves as a concrete strategy for revitalizing national character. Thus, pantun is no longer merely a legacy of oral tradition, but rather an instrument for moral and cultural education relevant to the needs of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Picky eating behavior is a common problem in preschool children that can affect nutritional intake and growth. Understanding the relationship between feeding patterns and picky eating behavior is important to help parents develop better feeding strategies. This quantitative study used a correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted among 70 preschool children aged 4–5 years at KB-TK Al-Irsyad AlIslamiyyah, Sumbersari District, Jember Regency. A total of 60 children were selected using proportionate random sampling. Data were collected using the Child Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ) and a picky eater questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The findings showed that 45 children (75%) exhibited picky eater behavior, while 15 children (25%) did not. The Chi-Square test result showed a p-value of 0.030, indicating a significant relationship between feeding patterns and picky eater behavior. There is a significant relationship between feeding patterns and picky eater behavior in preschool children. Children with good feeding patterns are less likely to exhibit picky eating behavior. Therefore, parents should recognize their children’s eating patterns and provide a variety of foods to prevent picky eating tendencies.

Abstract

A wedding is a very important moment for everyone and requires meticulous preparation, sometimes taking months to years, but the lack of time and support from friends and family is often not enough to fulfill all the needs for planning a wedding. In this case, wedding organizers (WOs) are here to solve this problem. This study aims to examine the development of a growing wedding designing business in Tanjungwangi Village, Pacet, Bandung Regency, especially Friskia Ala Ala Wedding Organizer. This research provides an in-depth description of client experiences, processes, and variables that contribute to the services they offer. The method used in this research is, descriptive qualitative method with the technique of collecting data through direct observation and interviews. Friskia Ala Ala Wedding Organizer offers various services, such as make-up artist (MUA), prewedding, decoration, location, catering, photography, film, and entertainment. Friskia Ala Ala Wedding Organizer conducted a SWOT analysis which showed that there are strengths to attract customers and low prices. Friskia Ala Ala Wedding Organizer managed to record a good profit from the sale of its wedding packages. In addition, the net profit generated shows good financial management. Abstract

Students’ conceptual understanding of chemistry, particularly on the topic of thermochemistry, remains relatively low despite the implementation of student-centered learning. This condition indicates the need for alternative learning that can connect chemistry concepts with real-life experiences and increase students’ active engagement. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) learning model on students’ conceptual understanding of thermochemistry. This study used an experimental method with a Randomized Control Group Pretest–Posttest design in two Grade XI classes at SMAN 4 Pekanbaru in the 2025/2026 academic year. Class XI 6 as the experimental class received REACT learning, whereas class XI 7 as the control class received learning using a scientific approach. The data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class, with a calculated t-value of 6.47 > table t-value of 1.66 at a significance level of 0.05. The N-Gain score of the experimental class was 0.85 in the high category, higher than that of the control class, which was 0.69 in the moderate category. Improvements also occurred in all indicators of conceptual understanding. The conclusion of this study affirms that the REACT learning model is effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding of thermochemistry. The implications of this study indicate that REACT-based contextual learning can be used as an alternative chemistry learning strategy to improve the quality of students’ conceptual understanding and learning outcomes.
