Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of conflict between tradition and modernization in Islamic educational institutions, identify the contributing factors, and formulate effective conflict management strategies. Using the library research method, data were collected from various academic sources, including journals, books, and relevant policy documents. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify conflict patterns and their resolutions. The findings indicate that the primary conflicts arise in curriculum, teaching methods, and leadership systems. The key contributing factors include generational differences, national education policies, and globalization pressures that demand modernization. Effective conflict management strategies include dialogue and mediation approaches, the implementation of a hybrid system that integrates tradition and innovation, and participatory leadership involving all stakeholders. This study concludes that proper conflict management can create a balance between traditional values and modernization demands in Islamic education. The implications of this study highlight the need for flexible policies that accommodate historical aspects and educational transformation to ensure the continued relevance of Islamic educational institutions in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examined the differences in sperm quality and metabolite profiles among X and Y sperm in Friesian Holstein bulls. It also tried to find specific metabolites that can help improve the accuracy of sexed semen use in humid tropical dairy farms. Semen samples from five bulls were separated by sex and tested for movement, live sperm count, shape, and membrane and acrosome health. The tests used Computer-Assisted Sperm Analysis (CASA) and regular microscope checks. Metabolite analysis was performed using LC-HRMS, followed by various statistical tests, pathway checks, and ROC curve analysis. The outcomes showed that X sperm had better movement and acrosome health, while Y sperm had stronger membranes, fewer shape problems, and moved faster. The untargeted metabolite study showed clear differences between the two groups. X sperm had more identified metabolites and greater average levels. The crucial metabolites found more in X sperm were D-(−)-fructose, L-(+)-lactic acid, and sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine. Meanwhile, Y sperm had greater levels of acetyl-L-carnitine. The pathway analysis showed that X sperm primarily utilized carbohydrate and fat processing through glycolysis and phosphocholine pathways to maintain their movement and membrane integrity. On the other hand, Y sperm mainly use a carnitine-based energy pathway to support their faster and straighter movement. The identified metabolites can serve as reliable biomarkers to aid in laboratory quality control checks and enhance the quality of semen extenders. This outcome gives a good way to make sexed semen more stable and reliable in tropical dairy farming conditions.

Abstract

The integration of fiqh education into schools has increasingly been realized through the practice of qurban as experiential learning, where teachers, staff, and students participate to instill religious values and social responsibility. However, questions arise regarding the legal validity of qurban performed by students who have not reached maturity (baligh) and whose financial obligations are often borne by parents, potentially creating burdens for families with limited economic capacity. This study aims to analyze Islamic legal perspectives on school-based qurban programs through the lens of maslahah mursalah (public benefit). Using a qualitative library research approach and content analysis of normative Islamic legal sources, the findings indicate that such practices are valid and beneficial when they meet the established conditions of qurban and align with maqasid al-shari‘ah, offering educational value in sacrifice, empathy, and communal solidarity. Conversely, if conducted under compulsion, imposing undue burdens, or resulting in greater harm than benefit, these practices may be deemed impermissible (haram). The implications highlight the importance of designing qurban education in schools that balance pedagogical goals with legal and ethical considerations to ensure voluntary participation and genuine benefit.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of Islamic religious education teachers in addressing the moral crisis faced by junior high school students in Indonesia. This type of research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The results of this problem are the role of Islamic religious education teachers in addressing students' moral crisis by being good role models, spreading Islamic values through interesting ways such as storytelling and setting an example, and providing ongoing moral direction and guidance. This task includes building positive character through daily interactions, helping students overcome their moral problems, and ensuring that Islamic religious education lessons are directly related to their lives. The factors that cause the moral crisis at the junior high school level include the impact of the family (minimal character education, poor parenting, and family economic conditions), the social environment (peer influence, wrong associations, and community conditions that do not support education), and technology (the negative impact of gadgets and social media). In addition, internal aspects such as a lack of understanding of moral and ethical values and a lack of positive role models from teachers and parents also contribute. The moral crisis among adolescents is one of the main challenges faced by modern society today. Amidst technological advances, the influence of globalization, and changes in social values, adolescent morality is increasingly exposed to negative external influences. Rapid lifestyle changes, particularly due to widespread access to social media and global culture, have given rise to various moral issues.
