Abstract

Environmental management in Indonesia faces significant challenges, including land conversion, pollution, and ecosystem degradation. These issues are primarily driven by human activities and a lack of integration between state policies and local wisdom. Indigenous peoples, who possess traditional knowledge and wisdom-based management systems, play a crucial role in environmental conservation. However, there are still gaps in the recognition of their rights regarding natural resource management. This research aims to analyze the role of local wisdom in environmental management within the framework of village authority and state responsibility. The methodology employed is descriptive analytical, utilizing a normative juridical approach that combines literature review and interviews with indigenous communities in Bali, Jambi, West Sumatra, and Papua. The findings indicate that while local wisdom values, such as Tri Hita Karana in Bali and arat sabulungan in Mentawai, significantly contribute to ecosystem maintenance, the integration between government policies and village authority remains limited. This research proposes strengthening the synergy between local wisdom and state policy to develop an inclusive and sustainable environmental management model. The novelty of this study lies in mapping the contributions of local wisdom within the context of village authority and highlighting the urgency for policy revisions to enhance the active role of indigenous peoples in environmental conservation.

Abstract

Manduro MG Village has limited natural resources, and most of its residents work as factory employees. Although they have small plots of land around their homes, they have not utilized them optimally. Therefore, the community service team implemented the Asset-Based Community-Driven Development (ABCD) method to raise awareness and enhance residents' skills in utilizing available assets. This program was conducted through Eco-print training, a natural dyeing technique using leaves, twigs, and flowers to create eco-friendly products. The training consisted of four sessions: introduction, pounding technique demonstration, hands-on product creation, and digital marketing training using Canva and social media. The evaluation measured skill improvement through direct observation and discussion, as well as observations of production and marketing progress. Results showed that 85% of participants successfully created standard-quality products, and some initiated Eco-print-based businesses. This program is expected to foster new SMEs and boost the economic productivity of Manduro MG Village.

Abstract

After the Dutch colonial occupation, for 78 years Indonesia still used Wetboek van Strafrecht as the law that regulates criminal law until finally in 2023 Indonesia has a National Criminal Code. The National Criminal Code emphasizes the ultimum remedium character by changing fines into one of the main punishments. The formulation of fine as one of the main punishments is part of the effort to overcome the overcapacity in correctional institutions caused by imprisonment which has always been the main choice in the punishment system in Indonesia and is perceived increasingly ineffective. Fines that have been contained in the Criminal Code are also a reference for the determination of fines in special laws outside the Criminal Code, one of which is the Immigration Law which in its application faces many obstacles. This qualitative research uses normative juridical method that analyzes the norms of fine sanctions and its classification in the Indonesian National Criminal Code. Although there are still findings, the fine clause in the National Criminal Code raises new homework for legislators and implementers, related to special laws outside the National Criminal Code that also formulate fines in their criminal sanctions, the research found that the classification of fines in the National Criminal Code is formulated as a new Indonesian punishment policy that has a more ultimum remedium character and prioritizes the principle of justice over legal certainty, can be a guideline for imposing administrative fines for special laws and regulations such as Immigration Law

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of peer tutoring learning strategies in teaching Arabic grammar (nahwu) at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Lombok Tengah, West Nusa Tenggara. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis to explore the effectiveness of the implementation of this strategy. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of peer tutoring strategies has a positive impact on student motivation and involvement in the learning process. Students who act as tutors show an increase in understanding the material because the peer teaching process strengthens their mastery of concepts. Conversely, students who become tutor participants feel more comfortable asking questions and discussing, thus accelerating their process of understanding the rules of nahwu. In addition, the collaborative atmosphere created during learning increases students' self-confidence and social skills. Peer tutoring strategies also help teachers overcome learning challenges, such as limited time to provide individual attention to each student. This study has implications for the recommendation of peer tutoring strategies as an innovative alternative in Arabic language learning that can be widely applied to support student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Purposes—This study aims to increase students' fiction analysis by integrating Quizizz media into the Project-Based Learning model. It explores how this combination fosters engagement, critical thinking, and literary comprehension, particularly in analyzing the main elements, such as plot, theme, setting, and moral/ message.Methodology- This study used mixed-method approaches, combining quantitative analysis and test results, a questionnaire, and qualitative knowledge from interviews with the teacher. This study was conducted in SMP Negeri 4 Palu, involving 32 students from the eighth grade. The students are selected from stratified random sampling. The data-collecting instrument consisted of a fiction test analysis, a questionnaire, and a Likert scale on engagement and motivation. In contrast, a semi-structured questionnaire was given to the teachers, and an expert and statistical analysis assessment confirmed the validity and reliability of the test.Findings- Integrating quizzes in the PBL framework significantly increases the students' comprehension of fictional analysis, with an average score of 91,94%, which is categorized as high competency. The highest proficiency level score belongs to theme (100%) and morel/message (100%), meanwhile plot (84%) and characterization (81%) pose a bigger challenge. Teacher interviews highlight the variability of students' comprehension, engagement disparity, and resource accessibility problems as influencing factors. Quizizz gamified games, instant feedback, competitive quizzes, and interactive engagement were found to motivate students and improve their understanding of the literary concept.Significance—This study bridges the gap in the research by evaluating the empirical integration of gamification and PBL in literary education. This finding contributes to the pedagogical improvement of digital learning, showing how interactive and student-centered approaches can improve high-level thinking skills in fraction analysis. This study also highlights the importance of teachers' facilities, fair technology access, and strategic guidance instruments in maximizing learning outcomes,

Abstract

Purpose—This research aims to explore the transformative impact of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in improving engagement and creativity in short stories. It also discusses the limitations of the traditional method, which makes the teacher the center of the study and limits students' active participation and creative exploration.Methodology—Descriptive qualitative research was used, involving 17 students. This research was conducted in two weeks and implemented PjBL in three phases: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection methods included classroom observation, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of students' creative output. The collected data were analyzed based on engagement indicators, creativity dimensions, and narrative quality.Findings - The research revealed a significant increase in student engagement; 82% of students actively engaged in group discussion, and 88% responded to the teacher's instruction. The average creativity score was 3,55 out of 4, which was categorized as "Very High," specifically in originality and imaginative language use. The quality of the short story was scored "High," showing the strength in the originality of the theme and creativity of diction. Students highlight the PjBL characteristics of autonomy and collaboration as the main factors in enriching their learning experiences. This finding offers valuable knowledge for the teacher, curriculum designer, and policy maker to integrate an innovative student-centered pedagogical approach in writing instruction.Contribution—The combination of PjBL would enable the school to foster creativity, engagement, and problem-solving skills, equipping the students with the important competencies for the demands of 21st-century education.
